Does anyone find it odd that:

1.) They only find these "codes" AFTER these events happen or are known of?

2.) They're for some reason translated perfectly into ENGLISH, a language noone who wrote the Bible was even aware existed?

I believe they were in Hebrew. But if you are right, than you have found the most conclusive bit of evidence against them.

Who said they didn't? But if they told the world their findings they would end up in a situation like we have on this thread right NOW! Saying it's a bunch of crap and not believeable. So just take that into account. Also, we have created an english version of the bible you know... you can see an origional copy of the bible with the origional language in DC.

These frases aren't out of pure coincidence, they were put in there for a reason.

And why do you think that is?

The world has been predicted to end thousands of times, every time it is proven wrong. They then decide to get people to belive in it that it needs to predict stuff we already knew happened and go around saying "hah! See, it DID predict this!"

Yea, it was in Hebrew, but it was translated to English and worked out perfectly? I don't understand how that'd be possible.

It's interesting how it works out, but like I said...Why do they only find these AFTER the events happen? They're SO SURE these things exsist, yet are not using them to predict the future and stop events from happening...Interesting.

the people who did this must be obsessed with like the da vinci code or something

The Da Vinci code is ENTIRELY fiction, however, and was written to be as such.

Apparently not being told as fiction. Weither it is or not is up for debate, but the Da Vinci Code is fiction, no debate about it. :P

I was about to say that the Bible was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Aramaic. Decoding of English phrases is pretty pointless.

And to None2None. I've pretty much established that your "prophecies" are pretty much a giant hoax.

They pick out random stuff from the bible, big whoop. It's coincidental at best. It means nothing. I bet I could find a way to "Predict" a horrible event, by looking at a rock. Ohhh this crack says that the world is gonna explode!!!

It's not even random stuff, it's all recent events that people nowadays will pay attention right away if they even see there's new facts or theories.

If the same website talked about how the Bible predicted some war between two regions that happened in the year 1344 (random number), no one today would care.

It wouldn't be as shocking or worth claiming to have found, my guess is it wouldn't make as much money either.

The Bible has had numerous translations from the scrolls in Alexandria and the Dead Sea to the NIV. Things will get messed up after all that and these 'codes' might be unintentional. Nevertheless I'd have a very hard time believing in such things.

Bible codes are absolute rubbish, you can find words in any text of sufficient size. Pure coincidence and as Parabolo said all these things were found AFTER the event. Its just like with Nostradamos, people fit the events into the bible/prediction never the other way around.

Does anyone else find it weird that the 'God' who recrated us all and loved each and every one of us is gonna kill us...? =;

Actually, according to the Sermon on the Mount, He will come like a thief in the night for those faithful to Him. They will be spared the 7 years of Hell on Earth.

And those left behind still have a chance for redemption. The only way to truly fall away from God in the Christian Faith is to take the Mark of the Beast during the 7 year Tribulation.

The Final Judgement won't happen until the 7 years are over, and all Mankind from Adam to Steve from Accounting will be judged. Any who didn't take the Mark from the beginning of history will be given the chance to accept God.

And yeah...I think staring Christ in the face would be pretty convincing, no? :P

Of course, that's just what the Bible says will happen. Take it how you want.

That's why I don't believe in a physical Hell. If you don't cut it for Heaven, you are just put in stasis until you have your final choice. Works out to be a tidy arrangement.

And it's why I blew up in the Evolution thread because someone thought they were so Holy they could condemn someone else to Hell.

Sounds like a dictatorship to me.... A non-existent one at that

I admit, Nostradamus' predictions (different from the bible code) are pretty eerie. Such as this possibly refering to 9/11

"In the year of the new century and nine months, From the sky will come a great King of Terror... The sky will burn at forty-five degrees. Fire approaches the great new city..."

"In the city of York there will be a great collapse, two twin brothers torn apart by chaos while the fortress falls the great leader will succumb third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

"It has been foreseen that exactly three hundred and fifty years into the future, Silver phoenixes shall strike down the twin brothers of oppression That carried the king's nation, which shall bring upon the apocalypse. In the City of God there will be a great thunder, two brothers torn apart by chaos"

Even if they are true, he doesn;t expect the third great war to end the world. That is kept for another thousand years.

But i dont go in for all this jazz. Most of these are debunked here: http://skepdic.com/nostrada.html

And a better understanding here: http://users.cybercity.dk/~dko12530/nostradamus.htm

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

I'm christian. Extremely religous ( I havn't missed church for almost a year, not including days I was traveling, sick, etc.) And I read the bible EVERY day. No one knows when the world will end. It doesn't predict it in the bible either. This is from the bible. " the Lord will come like a burgular in the night when the world seems at it's peak". Hmm, it's peak, lets see what's been happening these past few years.

War in Iraq

9/11

More people having access to Nuclear Bombs

Hurricane Katrina

Global warming

And many more. If you ask me, the world is at it's peak. And the Lord is coming, soon.

1999 marked the first year in the history of Earth when all of the prophecies of The Revelation of John could take place. Kinda eerie.

Not to mention from a Christian/Hebrew standpoint the world is kind of going to Hell in a handbasket.

I just typed it out of random, lets see if someone can get it to say something.

Except they didn't get it out of "random"...they got it out of the Bible, the best selling book for over 3,000 years...

Aparently you misunderstood me. You can take nearly any phrase and turn it into something that means something else using some varrying "code". It doesn't matter what they found it in.

Just because the bible is the "best selling book for 3,000 years" doesn't mean that it automaticly can have "secret codes" hidden in it which "predict" the future, especialy considering it was MAN who wrote the bible.

Did man write the Bible? We have no one author or any counts of an author. Many Christians believe it was God who actually wrote it...look it up, I promise you wont find any sure answers.

And for all thoes who say "Ah! It was translated! therefor it HAS to be false!"

Let me tell you. First, it was translated from Hebrew to Hebrew, it turned out as this, and was only then translated to English from Hebrew to be able to easily explain it in places such as The History Channel, The Discovery Channed, The Newspaper etc.

All of the years found were found as they would have been written...i.e. 2012 isn't displayed as "2012" but something like '5684' or how they would write it.

All verbs found were in the present tence Hebrew, NO codes were found in the past or future tence, so there's something to think about when saying codes can be found in anything, what happened to the future and past? Some say it was God who is timeless and included these codes.

Keep in mind, this theory has been shown from many known places who wouldn't risk their reputation on simply disproved myths. I'm not saying it is right or law, but I'm saying at least try to look at it from the opposite perspective ;)

I am interested to know why you chose the title "Accept it or not, it's still amazing" since it isn't amazing in the slightest if you don't believe it.
I figured most would consider some of these so-called "Coincidences" that happened over and over many having chances with much less than 1/1,000,000 happening would be amazing either way.

^^That is statistically amazing, 1/1,000,000 is awesome let alone even less than that.

I'm not sure many of you get this.

You take something like 1-5 Bible verses and find words like "Chemical" "War" "Iraq" "Saddam" "He will be captured" and words all related to each other, using the same code, in 5 verses.

Statistically amazing.

Some people I dont believe watched the entirety of the video posted, watch it and you may learn a thing or two about it.

Hopefully you now get that, aside of spiratually amazing, it is (to most) at least statistically amazing... <.<

Am I defending a theory that I think is false? Possibly. But I dont want a topic without two sides, it would be uninteresting, so I'm throwing out the other possible sides.
