And geez, slashing the bus's tires? The worst vandalism I've ever seen was someone spraying "Jake" on the side of my elementary school. But someone spray-painted swears in the bathroom...Nothing too harmful, other than teaching little kids swears. Anyways...I suppose I'd be half-sad, half-happy. Day off from school, yet you'd probably have to make it up, meaning summer break starts later.

Frostbite - I remember that day. Oh yeah...Another time, the forecast was sunny. It turned out to be a blizzard. We had school. Our superintendent learned his lesson...The next time the forecast was a blizzard/snow storm, he gave us the day off. There was no snow. It was 60 degrees Fahrenheit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Dehydration - My school has air conditioning, although it doesn't exactly work 100% of the time. So I suppose we'll never get school off if it's too hot.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Another time, my sister got sent home early because there was a blackout. She was in 7th grade, so it's not like anyone should have been scared. THAT is one of the lamest reasons to get sent home/school off...

We got out of school for three weeks because of a labor strike our teachers had :wink:

i could've had the day off of school (it wasnt out but its was snowing really hard and half the school was gone). i called my mom and told her that my friends mom who drives by our house and gives us a ride to school cant go because the roads are too icy. well i play my video games while my cousin secretly calls my dad and asks do we go to school or not..... he says to go to school.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and she did it for....... hot freaking chocolate!!!!!. i mean COME ON! we had hot chocolate at the house and we had a day off but my cousin ruined it for HOT CHOCOLATE!!! we had to WALK in 10 degree weather for a freaking mile because of my cousins stupid hot chocolate party so she can drink some with her friends. her friends didnt even go to school! that day freaking sucked :x

Last semester someone flooded the athletic department with hoses. Shut down an entire wing of the school for 3 weeks. And they get nothing done, what a waste of time.

Back to my original post, my school almost got closed due to a racial threat written in the bathrooms that was pretty serious. 15 cops and even more undercover cops were at the school (I went that day because I'm no pansy). Did even the thought of making a thread for this pass my mind? No. Would anyone have cared? No. I figure I can apply the same logic here.

The same part of my school got burned down twice in 6 months.

My parents work starts too early to drive me, so I am forced to take the bus....unless I want to spend 2 hours walking along an expressway :roll:

Our school got temporarily closed due to vandilism once, some broke all of the pipes in the bathroom and smasehed all of the lights at night, the next day, we got to go home! and our chool had no lights for the next couple days (or water)

On-Topic, my school has been closed due to cold weather and snow, but that's it. There was a bomb threat at the high school once, but nothing else really...My school isn't that interesting. :|

hmm where do you live? in the 10 years my school has been around, i dont think its ever been closed once exept when one of the teachers got the great idea to mix hydrochloric acid with salt. she thought it was sulferic acid. :D

My school has been closed twice to my memory, once for a good reason, once for a really really silly one.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Good reason - they found asbestos in the walls of my form room :uhh: for those who dont know what asbestos is ummmmm well its not fun stuff lol

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bad reason - the heating broke, in summer :roll: oh no lol

I would be pissed if my school was closed for vandalism.. No, I don't enjoy the lessons but I do enjoy the hours I spend passing notes with friends and the time I get to spend with my gf. I would be out looking for the culprit if someone took that away from me..
