Barrows Gloves are the most annoying thing to lose when you die.

can't get them back again like Defenders and they're not tradeable so the other person can't get them. Have to pay 130k each time you die as you can't run back to get them =/

making fire capes tradeable would probably get to conversations like this

lvl 20 guy: see i just kill tztok-jad! *shows the fire cape on a trade*

other guy: cool! put it on

lvl 20 guy: uh.. i dont want to

and so on

My suggestion...

Fire Cape - destroyed if dropped (like a god cape)

Barrows Gloves - tradable but unwearable without completing RFD

Rune Defender- destroyed if dropped

Fighter Torso - destroyed if dropped

fire cape, i agree, it would suck if you were killed by a monster and actually could go pick it back up. like if you died @ ape atoll and teled back.

barrows gloves, id like them just not to get destroyed... i died and lost them but 130 for gloves... thats gay.

rune defender and torso, i agree with i guess, but again losing the torso would blow id hate doing that all over again.

I say make everything tradable (except holdiday items from bunny ears on...), but make it to where you have to do what is required to wear it. For example, you can buy a fire cape, but you MUST defeat Jad to wear it... Same with barrows gloves, you must complete all parts of RFD. I'm not sure how that would work with rune defenders... Maybe you must have a rune defender in your bank, or on you to wear. For fighter torso, maybe have a list or something in Barb assault, of like what items you've bought yourself, then you will be able to buy and wear if you some how lose the first one you had. They can have a message come up if you try to wear like "You must ... to wear ..."

I think that firecape should get destroyed, but instead of having to earn it again you could buy it back from the guy for about 50k tokkul?

Rune defender should also get destroyed and gotten back the same way.

For Fighter Torso it'd cost you 125 points of each to get it back after getting it for the first tme.

For the Rune kites and larges you can trim in your house, when you dropped them they'd return to normal items and thus can be traded.

This would greatly reduce the people using these items to pk and get the good loot back again.

YES! Thanks Jagex, now just alter rune defenders, fighter torsos, penance helm, and barrows gloves...Fire cape should remain not-droppable or tradeable though.

for real

i'm not so sure about barrows gloves though :\..but definitely torso and defender

I don't agree with defender, since the droprate is such high, and after you've got your own one, you will get one probably per 100 tickets.. That would be too easy money atleast in my eyes -.-

I disagree with all of these. The helm change was a good idea, but if these items you mention were dropable, then you'll see mules intentionally selling fire capes, barrow gloves, rune defenders to people (and allowing them to pk these items).

Scams would happen, more complaints - and overall this would ruin these minigames/epic quests and their rewards which is the whole point to them anyways. (The only reason I ever got into questing in the first place were the barrows gloves as the max reward from Recipe for Disaster.)

EDIT: After reading the rest of the posts, clearly the fire cape should remain unwearable if you haven't finished the minigame.

Other suggestions include the item being destroyed if dropped. I like these ideas a bit better. Anyways, good change Jagex.

By the way, I know the Recipe gloves are mostly superior to cooking/goldsmith gauntlets, but nobody has mentioned these gaunts. In fact, you get em back for free...

I agree completely. It doesn't really matter if you can't wear an item, you can just sell it to someone who can.
