My old school realm is #25. (Burning Blade).

Heh as much as I tried to get up to 80 again I just couldn't do it. The prospect of grinding through the same old [cabbage] is just way too old and boring for me. That being said it was probably silly for me to try and get up there anyways, I've never really enjoyed the end game of WoW. :P

I have to disagree on the endgame. Pre ToC they "tried" to keep it challenging. Ulduar was for sure...then I agree as well, because the way they're changing the game, might as well take 10 80's to a vanilla raid. Sadly the lvl 60 raid will probably be more difficult than both ICC and ToC combined. /sigh, "blizz, stop ruining the game. kthxbye"

Who are you disagreeing with? I never liked the endgame in WoW even when it was "challenging".

Unless you PvP, not much else to the game, especially if you quested to level. Even then the fun quests are a rarity -_- If you're not a PvPer and dont quest either, how did you manage to not /ragequit? O_o (btw, I dont quote to whom Im replying if I can avoid it as my text space is limited)

I'm a PvPer. The issue is that even though I really wanted to get into the arena and get some good stuff going each time after playing a bit I realize how stupid the arena can be. Considering I don't have a 3 man / 5 man team and only enough for 2v2 it's just never been worth it.

I've played on and off since the start of BC. I go back now and then because I think Blizzard has changed stuff but heh, they never really do.

How'd everyone spend their day away from WoW?

Expecting a good life because you're a good person is like expecting a bull not to charge because you're a vegetarian.

Move out of slime and fire.

Stand at the designated stack spot.

Move to this spot if you have the debuff.

Spread the fire away from the group.

Stop DPS means to STOP THE DAMN DPS, not finish your rotation then stop.

Make sure you are spread out from other people.

Do not stand in front of the boss, some of them do this thing called a cleave. It WILL kill you.

Do not stand in the giant red spot when it appears.

Heal the person with the debuff.

Switch to the adds.

Do not attack that add.

Do not AoE when you're not supposed to.

Do not pull aggro, you might think you're cool with big numbers but are you cool when the boss punts you across the room?

Dispell the debuff when you are supposed to.

Taunt when you are supposed to taunt, not 10 seconds later.

Bring enough Reagents to last for the whole raid; its a battle not a picnic.

Do not hit Yes on the Ready Check unless you are ready for the pull.

Learn to read, DBM tells you everything that is happening in big blue letters.

Know your class. Certain classes excel, or are almost required, to complete specific encounters. Know when this applies to you, and what to do.

Finally, if you go to the raid, know the fights... for Christ's sake. The last thing anyone wants to hear in Vent mid-fight is "What do I do?"

These are simple instructions, at most during any encounter only two or three of them will apply... and yet it amazes me how many people can screw up such basic mechanics. Its as if though their brains cannot grasp the concept of something so easy. Does anyone else have to deal with this kind of stupidity on a regular basis? : /

Yeah I never got what was so difficult with 95% of the encounters in this game. You have DBM telling you explicitly what to do. Sure, I can see it being a challenge to be the 1st guild in the world to complete content because then you need to figure out what to do. Otherwise you have people telling you what to do and [cabbage] just isn't hard with a mod telling you what to do and where to stand.

Of course several hardcore raiders are going to chime in and mention all the difficulties of raiding and how hard it is and how I never was in a "real" hardcore raiding guild. ;p

Exactly, this is easy stuff I don't understand how it can be so hard for some people. I tell melee DPS not to AoE on Saurfang, then I see Consecrate and Death and Decay up mid-fight. Its damn annoying...

And the funny thing, on my server, the hardcore raiders are the ones who call it easy haha

On the topic of hardcore raiders: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=25171928012&sid=1&pageNo=1

An oceanic superguild is being formed, and there is much nerd-raging and gnashing of teeth.

Some rands from the guild I used to be in when I played are in it, and they linked me it. Much funnies. :3

Pretty much both guilds are as terrible as each other. D:

EDIT - And, with that buff so high, I'd be guessing that quite a lot of the fight mechanics can be ignored. I mean, we were just stunning and cleaving the bloodbeasts to death with AoE/etc at 10%, so yeah. Apart from the obvious ones, though, I guess.

Nothing wrong with Melee AoE as long as it's timed right. Also, at this point with the buff (and probably without it) a viable saurfang method on normal at least is just get everyone to nuke down the beasts. No hassle then with CC or anything.

I've not played in over a week now, subscription ran out and have been unable to renew it. Enjoying the time off as was fairly bored with the game anyway. (Annoyed being stuck in a guild who progressed really well up until LK, then apparently no one wants to try and down him).

What is this DBM you speak of? O_o jk's. I never really found a reason to download it >.>

You NEED deadly boss mods (Or bigwigs). This isn't even a choice. If you go into an endgame raid without it, you're just jepoardising everybody elses chances of succeeding along with your own, and you deserve to be kicked when they find out you aren't using it.

Renewed today and got an email a couple of hours after saying that I need to rename my paladin as it's offensive. No idea why it was allowed to stay for over a year.

Anyway, any suggestions (and for my mage too, as I imagine that'll be changed soon too).

Milkadin ;)

DBM is overrated imo. I do just fine without it. And have been. I rarely PuG unless I've been through the content before. If you're going to PuG without knowing the fight, I guess I understand the whole DBM thing, but it's really unnecessary if you know the fight. Yellow pop up text is all I need ^.~

Paying attention to surroundings, buffs/debuffs isn't all that hard either. The ONLY add on I use is atlas loot so I can see whats worth spending drax points on, should I wait to craft gear, etc...I manage fairly well as a tank for not having DBM, Omen, or the like xD

I got a pleasant reminder of the joy of pugs today.

I joined a group starting on putricide, we went and did dreamwalker first, and one shotted no problem.

Then we go to putricide, I start the fight at like 8.5k dps, and by the end from running back and forth to the slimes i'm down to 5k ish.

Now there were only two melee, me and a rogue, after we wiped I start getting flamed in vent "why does your dps suck lololol" and I say I have to move between the slimes which obviously lessens it.

They say "the rogue has good dps" but he wasn't even switching to the slimes at all, which is why we wiped, and then i get kicked.

Damn I need a guild.

Yeah, gotta love PuGs :P If you look at it a certain way, you'll find its actually hilarious how some of them turn out. BTW, ppl like to use melee dps as a scapegoat, and when ppl wipe they just look at numbers. Its why I tank PuGs, dps guild runs. (Weekly Raid, VoA are the only two I PuG)

As for finding a guild, go to your Realm's forum, and see who's recruiting. Hopefully there will be a few options :)

Meh my subscription runs out in a week anyway, I'm not going to renew.

I have a guild currently, they are just casual though so I basically end up pugging everything.
