Harrington
In your opinion, who are the best and worst actors around? Worst: Orlando Bloom (or Orland Bland as I call him) - plays exactly the same melodramatic overacting ponce in every movie. Best: Al Pacino - this guy is the most powerful actor ever. He really makes you believe in his role (like the scene at the end of Devil's Advocate). Best Comments here....
Satenza
Worst Vin Diesel Best Orson Welles With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

Bubsa
Very hard to judge an all-round greatest actor, purely because of the great diversity of acting styles. For instance, for an actor who sticks to Stanislavski's method of affective memory, (which later spawned the more commonly known Method Acting) it's very hard to look past the likes of Anthony Hopkins or Robert De Niro. Both become so immersive in their roles you would truly believe them to be the character. In another example, in the field of comedic acting, Larry David is equal to none. The timing and ways of presenting a joke are impeccable, without being realistic, although it's done in such a way an audience don't care it to be. Finally, there's epic theatre, something which very few actors can achieve successfully and many actors attempt, fail and infuriate (think Brad Pitt in Fight Club). One of the greatest performances in this field was from Malcolm McDowell, playing Alex de Large in Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange. He really captures the essence of Brecht's "Verfremdungseffekt" to give the film the notoriety it has with film critics today. So er, yeah. :P Acting's a passion of mine, you could say. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
WutangFlu
Worst = not just in movies... but day-time soap operas... lame melo-dramatic acting makes me want to rip my eyes out..... also the Fast and Furious actors... #-o best... alot of the comedy actors... i sometimes wonder how they keep a straight face when doing their acts. Jim Carey being a prime example.
Ozzy_Patrick
best: johnny depp, Jason Statham, Ben Kingsley (simply for Sexy Beast), Steve Buscemi, George clooney. Worst: probably most of the ones in the media projects in my college :) but professional actors, erm, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone. i'm only naming really famous ones, there are worse but they don't get much recognition anyway. probably left some off both lists but i'm a li'l tired at the moment. ____
Worst actors.. . I know they're meant to be parody movies; but their acting is sickening :uhh: As for best, no idea. Possibly Anthony Hopkins, or even Kevin Spacey.
indy500fan
I don't think I could choose a best actor, there are a lot that I think do great jobs. Also, in some parts they do great, but in others they don't. Then there's the other case, where the part really doesn't require great acting skills. A good example is Arnold Schwarzenegger. He isn't that great of an actor, but can you see anyone else playing The Terminator? Or anyone else in Predator? Even in Kindergarten Cop, he was great for the part because it was really, really odd to see him play it. After that mini-rant I was going to say something along the lines of "but I'll pick one I think is best anyways", and mention someone, but I don't think I can. Worst actor I won't say anything, I don't take part in "worst" topics. Generally they are filled with people mentioning popular and well liked people/movies/songs just to be cool or something. Anyways, they are never anywhere near the worst ever.
ctp080188
Some of the better actors for me include Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and Robert De Niro. I can't think of many when it comes to worst actors, the only one I can think of is that blimmin woman in 40 Year Old Virgin, she was pretty, but a truly awful actor/actress whichever is politically correct these days. Sumpta
Whoa, this is hard. Are you talking all-time, or still living actors? I'll go for still living or recently died... Best actors: Ian McKellen, Helen Mirren, Cate Blanchett, Ian Richardson, Alan Rickman, Jim Carrey (I don't like all of his movies, but that man has such a broad range, brilliant) Worst: Orlando Bloom, Emma Watson, Jean-Claude Van Damme
LeeLee
best: Renee Zelwenger ( i'm ot sure whiether i spelt that right) She such a good actress, i think she shows up accomplished actors and actresses with her flare and enthusiasm worst: Daniel Radcliffe uuuuuuuuuurggh :-X All though i suppose i should give the guy a break since he started so young. Chocobodude0
Worst: 50 Cent. He was awful in that stupid movie, it seems like he took a 5-minute acting class. Bad acting to go with bad rapping, I suppose. -.- Best: Al Pacino. He is so convincing, and gives everything he has into every word in whatever script he is using. I can't wait for The Ocean's 13, which he is in. I know I won't be disappointed.
l33thunt3r
Worst: Hayden Christensen (sp?), Anakin in his older form/before Vader. His soap opera days REALLY show in his acting. Horrible. Best: Charlie Chaplin, his actions were his words, and he was a master of portraying emotions. Also Pam Anderson. :anxious: :anxious:

Jim Carrey is the definition of overacting. Yes I know some of the roles he played were out there, but taking it down a knotch or two would've given better results - in a lot of his movies. rocketman089
jim carrey overacts but its funny and supposed to be that way In movies like Ace Ventura and Dumb & Dmber the whole over-the-top thing is funny, but in his serious films like Spotless Mind its a little awekward. He's definatly one of those hit-miss kind of guys. Gamertag: King Arizona

1_man_army
The problem with Orlando Bloom is that he lacks character/personality as a person, so he has nothing to convey on screen. He just strikes me as being dull. I really don't like Ben Affleck either, I can't put my finger on why though. I hated him in Daredevil with a passion. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
