Square Enix isn't even that good.. FF games are always the same just a new story with new characters

Did anyone else see the irony in that?

I'm just saying the plot dosnt change but they make a new story... if you get what I mean.... it's all the same with new characters that you immedietly lose interest in (unless your a homo)... and Papickett is right how did this turn from a Next Gen conversation to a FF discussion that's going nowhere? oh yeah! stupid sony fanboys

I actually think the Xbox360 is going to fail just like the Dreamcast. The 360 is a "bridge" from this gen to the next gen. Look at the Dreamcast. It had games that looked as good (or better) than PS2 launch titles. The problem was that Sony stepped up in other technologies (built in DVD player and a DVD format for games). The 360 is going to flop the exact same way. They haven't stepped up in other technologies other than graphics (Just like the Dreamcast). The PS3 is stepping up in technologies by using the Blu-Ray format. Sony will also use the "Me Too" approach just like they did with the Dreamcast and DS(well it's still putting up a fight showing that the strategy isn't flawless). Sony always shows up late and uses this strategy to win.

Example:

Timmy and Johny are best friends. One day, the Dreamcast comes out and Timmy gets one. Naturally, Johny is jealous but has to wait until he has the money. Eventually he just ends up waiting for the PS2. Johny shows up a Timmy's house with a new, sleeker, superior PS2. Now Timmy disregards his Dreamcast and begs his mother to get him a PS2, giving Sony total dominance in the end of that war.

This strategy was also used with the DS and is now going to be put to work against the 360. The only "safe bet" in the next console war seems to be the PS3. But for some reason, I feel that there is something that Sony is hiding that might make it a less appealing product.

Regarding the Revolution:

They seem to banking on the idea of a new, revolutionary controller that is going to change the world of gaming (be prepared to be underwhelmed by a controller that is just a gimmick that lacks any inovation) and using old Nintendo titles instead of focusing on good next generation games.

Regarding the Rev. controller:

Nintendo has a history of being, well, revolutionary, with the controllers. Remember Rumble Pack? It's still used today. Also somone said N64 for was the premier of an analog stick game controller, but I don't remember when Sony relased theirs so I can't confirm. Hmm, we'll just have to wait and see

Playstation 'Dual Shock' controllers didn't come out until a good while after the system was released.

sega didnt have a large fanbase such as the Xbox does now, there last console before the dreamcast was the saturn, that wasnt really a success was it? the first xbox was, the new xbox will sell (not saying it will sell more than the ps3, infact i dought it will, sony has the majority of the fanbase)the xbox won't crumble and do what sega did, not by a long shot

have you seen the ps3 control? its looks like some batman boomarang thing

That strategy will probably work, but it shows how narrow minded people are.

For the Revolution, I have total faith that Nintendo will come up with something completely original what isn't a gimmick. And can you really comment on old games being used wihen Sony will gear up to release Final Fantasy 60 and GT 20??!

We should expect to know a hell of a lot more about the Revolution after today's launch of the Tokyo Game Show.

Nintendo is set to release some more, or possibly all, details on the Revolution :D

My intial respone was very, very bad. I was like whaaaat :( and I seriously thought Nintendo was doomed or something. But now I let it sink in, boy, oh boy. Nintendo is incredible.

Developers have said some nice things about it as well. Hideo Kojima (creator of Metal Gear Solid) said this:

kojima's statment about the controller,

Iwata also presented a select number of Japanese developers to discuss their feelings related to the controller - most notably Konami's Hideo Kojima, creator of the Metal Gear series, who told the audience that his initial reaction to the controller was simply to exclaim, "You've done it!"

"Even though it was a surprise to me at first, I quickly understood how it should be used," he commented. "This is exactly what I was looking for."

:D

To me that looks awful, looks like something that would be incredibly entertaining for a short period of time but then wear off when it becomes a hassle of not having proper controls. It does look cool but I cannot see that working in a fast paced shooter.

That's gonna be my only imput. It looks cool but just not for me.

No start the nintendo over hyped fan boys v the xbox & ps2 gangbangers in 3..2..1..

Man. I wish someone would've captured the look on my face when I first saw the thing. I was so disappointed. It was priceless. Certain replies on certain forums are hilarious. First, everyone thinks it's horrible, then, everyone gets positive.

I must say it really looks exciting. I wonder how gaming will be with this 'remote controller'. I had an experience with the Wingman that worked a bit like that with racing games, and that wasn't too good, I wonder how this will be. I also wonder how the gamers will react to this, do they dare to take the step in controller change, after decades of normal pads designed to be held and used with two hands. I think it's great how Nintendo gives a new dimension to gaming, while Sony and Microsoft just come up with a more powerful system. I wonder how much this new Nintendo will cost, I might even be interested. >.<

If Nintendo Revolution has some good titles it will definately be something to compete with...The more I think about it the cooler it seems.

Not that I'm ever going to get a next-gen console, but if Nintendo can get some good games (and lots) it will be a force to be reckoned with.

Can you imagin playing a FPS with that?! HAHAHA.

Wow, they're certainly taking a risk if you ask me. Still, according to that 1up.com article it seemed to work out pretty good. Personally, I had expected something like the gamecube controller, but with a much sleeker look to it. Still, it seems very promising...

It opens up an entire part of gaming which Sony and MS can't even begin to touch.

With the right kind of launch titles behind it Nintendo really could do some damage to the 'power' of the PS3 and Xbox360.

Personally I think this really proves what console gaming is all about. The specs behind the system means [cabbage] really.

It is how they are utilised which make them matter ;)

I wouldn't expect the console specs to be overly great (in comparison to the other two) but for all it's worth... all that power can't get the experience you'll get with the Revolution :D

The average gamer (young male) generally has a pretty stong and nimble right hand. ;) I'm sure people will pick up on how to use it pretty quickly lol
