ego_scorpion
Heres a fun challenge one can do to practice making $. Regardless of what you have, bank everything and take nothing but 20k Set for yourself a timeframe and target ammount (in this case 1million in 4 hours) Make sure you bank everything else as to not attract any attention - naked as the day you were born :) Buy and sell anything and everything you can think of. No skills. You are not allowed to use any of your production skills to buy raw materials and gain greater income. Whats the point? Just to see how far you can get with 20k by doing the constant trading. And its fun to an extent, I did it the other day and was able to go from 20k to 400k within 30 minutes due to a serious of lucky trades. Post your outcome tommorrow and I will post some easy ways to make large amounts of $ from nothing very fast :) edit: clarification - you are to achieve your end result through only one means - merchanting! :) Game Name: Ego ScorpionParty Hat Sets: 4Bank Pictures: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645&start=

Dexek
I can't say that I will do it, because if I played for 4 hours, I would much rather train. Although, I won't flame you for your idea. Beginner merchants, and generally anyone may like this idea. The results could be very helpful for those players who are yet to make their first 1M. Good luck to everyone who tries it, and hopefully you will surpass the 1M mark within this time frame. : PoetryIndexed Picture 1Indexed Picture 2 Killed my maxed Zerker pure April 2010 Rebooting Runescape

ego_scorpion
Guys, you misunderstand the point. This is just for fun, to see what you can do with 20k. Woudlnt you for once wonna take a break from constant skilling and have some fun, even if you are not a merchant? Its just a challenge sort of thing, dont neceseraly have to make 1 mil, but see how far it gets you:) qeltar, I would like to ask you not to post in any of my future threads, show some respect id hope that by your age you would know what it is and lets just part ways civily. I would like to try to get 1m in 4 hours, but I cant do something for 4 hours straight these days. And I value xp and money over just lots of xp or lots of money. highlanders
It's an interesting challenge, I might do it if I ever go back to Runescape. I don't see why everyone's upset. It's for fun, a challenge. If someone's hunting chompies for a chompy hat, would you be "Hai that's useless, why waste time for something so useless!?"... For fun? In fact, Runescape is for fun. The "serious" activites are as pointless as the pointless ones. 2480+ total

You 2 are just being spiteful, but alright. Its a challenge that somebody gave me recently. Just for fun, a nice break from making potions nonstop to get 82 herblore and $ a little extra cash. 4 hours is the time allowed. Doesnt have to be all at once, hell, you can do it for 30 minutes at atime. You can hit 1 mil in 30 minutes and stop or you can keep going for 4 hours to see how much you get. Its not to make somebody care, just a little bit of merchanting fun, try it, you might like it. edit: I want to clarify something. Why do people immediately associate merchanting with world 2? I havent been once to world 2 since ive started playing again. Its impossible to accomplish anything there, an utter waste of time. viral_wulf
i love merchanting, i havn't tried getting to a mil like that but once i took out a set of rune and 30 minutes later i had 400k and and my rune you have the right idea :) I hope you can pull it off, ill post some really good ways to make $ in p2p tommorrow. I'll try to give your challenge a shot in the next couple of days, sounds fun. I'm interested to hear about your p2p moneymaking ideas. As for f2p $, this is surely nothing new to most, but in order to generate some cash for a new character I created, I did the following: 1) Starting from 0 gp. 2) I collected 100 cowhides. 3) Sold for 150ea in al k bank (15k) 4) Bought all cowhides for 100ea until out of cash 5) Goto 3 a few times (sometimes I sold for 140ea) Once I had built up a little cash, I went to Draynor and started buying rune wc axes for 15kea and sold them for 20-25kea. I saw some good opportunities for merchanting strength amulets (people were selling for 2k ea near the smith in Varrock west, I think these could be resold for 3 to 4k without much trouble). I know this is all small-time, it was kind of the point. :) There are people who would argue that my time would be better spent training some "skill" (chopping wood is a skill?), but I find wheeling and dealing to be much more enjoyable and couldn't care less what my wc or fishing level is (I only level for quests).
