November 13, 200718 yr Guys, you misunderstand the point. This is just for fun, to see what you can do with 20k. It is not really a daily occurence to see an author to misunedrstand his own message. :P No, it is not just for fun, what we can do with 20k. It is all about what we can do with the four hours of our free time. That is the important part. And to that question, there is only one right answer: ditch the 20k in your bank and go play the game. Get it? PLAY! GAME! I see absolutely no rewarding experience in wasting good four hours of my precious time spent in game merchanting. If you need one million, go train your skills. I'm sure you have found at least one or two things to do in this game that you enjoy and find it worthy of spending time on. Whatever it is, I guarantee you that just in a few months you will be able to attain high enough levels in it to generate steady influx of money to fund all your ingame needs. All that by "just" playing the game. The cash will just come in naturally. Do not feel bad that your ingame character is inferior to mine or any other old-school weirdo in just any way imaginable. Only idiots would judge others by their levels or wealth. Nobody but a few silly kiddos really care about money or achievement capes or what not. I assure you, those are not the attributes anyone would respect or befriend a person for. So, go and get a life. I mean, get a life, every minute of it, well spent. It's way more important than any amount of cash. Ever.
November 13, 200718 yr Oh come on ego, he just posted a question. Why not answer it and not just backlash like in all your previous threads. I would like to try to get 1m in 4 hours, but I cant do something for 4 hours straight these days. And I value xp and money over just lots of xp or lots of money. i dont constantly skill, and i do not merchant. standing around on w2 = less fun then a desert lizard task. who is going to care? You 2 are just being spiteful, but alright. Its a challenge that somebody gave me recently. Just for fun, a nice break from making potions nonstop to get 82 herblore and $ a little extra cash. 4 hours is the time allowed. Doesnt have to be all at once, hell, you can do it for 30 minutes at atime. You can hit 1 mil in 30 minutes and stop or you can keep going for 4 hours to see how much you get. Its not to make somebody care, just a little bit of merchanting fun, try it, you might like it. edit: I want to clarify something. Why do people immediately associate merchanting with world 2? I havent been once to world 2 since ive started playing again. Its impossible to accomplish anything there, an utter waste of time. spiteful? thats laughable. you are just conceited not to mention dumb, why post in general when its clearly an event?

The purpose challenge is to see how far one can go with 20k thorugh merchanting, nothing else. edit: also, please remove the post by jessy87 since its another attempt to derail the thread. November 13, 200718 yr ego i have too agree that i would advice players to spend 4 hours getting exp. exp is banked forever but as this is a fun post and the game works on a needs must basis i would buy pure ess on world 36 some good runners can earn over 600k a hour. so theres 2.4 mill burrrppp
November 13, 200718 yr Author This is an amaizing game because the possibilities in this game are endless. There is so much to do. I am not telling anyoen to do anything, instead, im offering a merchanting challenge to anybody who is itnrested. Why do you get hung up on 4 hours? Thats the max allowed limit to turn 20k into 1mil, if you can do it in 10 minutes then whoala. Just write up ind etail what you did and how you did it to do it :) People seem to get hung up on how much exp they can get in 4 hours which completely misses the point. Hopefuly its the last time I have to explain this. Game Name: Ego ScorpionParty Hat Sets: 4Bank Pictures: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645&start=0

I think it sounds quite a challenge, alot more than standing over a rock constantly clicking on it for x amount of hours. Who knows, you might even enjoi having a go at it and make a good profit!
November 14, 200718 yr ook, i only had enough time for 45 minutes, so. THE RESULT! Starting money: 20k Ending money: 8k oh darn... I shall try again! And to everyone that posted.. come on, it's just a bit of fun for a few minutes, i enjoyed it over constantly clicking. (i was constantly typing :P) I am a skiller, and enjoy skills over money, but this was a nice break. {DeviantART}{Last.Fm}{Join Sublime GFX, great community for artists!}Back to RuneScape, Again.Avatar by Brian The Great
November 14, 200718 yr I think I'll take the challenge---but I probably won't get an uninterrupted block of time to play until this weekend. It will be nice to try something different for a change. It seems like all I do lately is slayer (to level), craft nats (boring!), or fish (so I can do more slayer). If I make some money at this -- I'll be thrilled. If not, at least I've tried something different. Hopefully, since I won't get around to this until Saturday, there will be some tips posted before then. I have absolutely no idea where to start. I don't even sell the stuff I do make (nats, lobs, steel bars, etc.). I get my sister to do it because she's better at it than I am.
November 15, 200718 yr Author As promised, here is the solution! The best thing to do when you have very little cash and you are looking to make some is to look for easiest way to double it. In this example, easiest way to double 20k? - bowstring. Seers bank is one of those places where one can purchase bowstring for 100 each. Thats right, 100 each, not even 150 each, but 100 each. So you spend your 20k to buy bowstring at 100 each and then resell it 200 each, successfully doubling your $. To those nay sayers, yes, it is possible to buy bow string for 100 each. Next step. You can do this again, going from 40k to 80k and yet again, going from 80k to 160k At this point you have more options avaliable to you, I dont want to reveal all my trade secrets, so I will just show one other thing. Half keys, purchase loop half for 10-15k, teeth half for 20-25k. Get 2 or 3 half keys and open the chest. It will give you 3 uncut dragonstones, which can be sold for 65k each. Also, you might get lucky and get another half key or some rune bars, giving you more to work with. Here is some other things you can mercahnt for quick profits. Yew, if you can buy it 200-250 ea (yes its possible). Magics for 900 ea to sell for 1k to 1.1k each. Now knowing this feel free to try again let me know if you need any help or how it goes :) Game Name: Ego ScorpionParty Hat Sets: 4Bank Pictures: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=712645&start=0
November 17, 200718 yr What with the offtopic posts? :\ Its a fun game, but im F2P. I dunno if its counts but I use to get lobbies at karamja, then go lumbrigde using home tele, then to be around draynor bank for 20 minutes, and then go to karamja to get more lobbies, spenting 10 minutes, until I be able of tele free to lummy again (with 27 cooked or raw lobbies) ^_^ Yea, world 3 is good for merchanting.
November 17, 200718 yr Can you, say, buy stuff from shops then sell it to players for pure profit, or do you have to buy from players, then sell back? http://forum.tip.it/topic/173173-engineer-skill-and-railroads/<<Click! November 18, 200718 yr Sounds like a nice challenge. I need a break from my pure training str/fish/cook! It gets old, and seeing how im not a drop trader pure im going to try this. Ill probably do this when i get home though, idk what ill merchant... NEVER DONE IT BEFORE. lol... ive never really merchanted, so it will be new to me. Great thread. http://s9.invisionfree.com/pec <--Best clan ever.
November 18, 200718 yr My, my! There are too many grumpies on this thread! This isn't about making money(well, maybe a little :P ), it's about taking a challenge and having fun. If you're interested, I took a similiar challenge a few months back, called the "Egg challenge." I started out with a single egg though, picked up in the lumbridge chicken farm. The rules are: No skilling for money, no picking up items off the ground, no accepting items for free, and must be done in purely f2p worlds. My first goal was a rune platebody, but then I decided to go for full rune. Well, halfway there is still quite an accomplishment for me! :) Current bank of Egg__trader: By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
November 19, 200718 yr I tried for an hour, got to 100K :) I just went and bought magic logs from woodcutters at the tree, 25 logs for 20K and the profit was nice : RetiredEx-E174Ex-Venqeance[Ex-Tha Familia3]
November 26, 200718 yr I would do that, but #1. I can't do anything for four hours, and #2. I don't have 20k Atm. Stop laughing. It's not funny!! Tonight Tip.iters we dine in... HELL!!!

November 29, 200718 yr hmmm sounds intresting but i have my own way of making cash. most people would probably snub it though but it works for me :)
December 13, 200718 yr I can say I succeeded in the inverse of this challenge. Albeit, I started with 11.5m and ended with 50k 30 seconds later... Yay for duel arena! Dragon Drops- D legs, finally
