Fastest way to craft nature runes

Recommended Posts

Now that we have the use of Fairy Rings, especially the CKR one near Shilo village, I was wondering which method is the fastest one to use for crafting nats.

Using the Zanaris -- CKR -- Nat altar -- Zanaris method I can get between 25 to 30 runs per hour which is anywhere between 700 to 1590 nats per hour (depending on pouch usage). Is this comparable to the Abyss method?

Please give me your thoughts.

I timed it off today and crafted like 1,860 nats in an hour using the abyss+ super energy pots(got love those things). Now saidin, you have the largest pouch so if you were to add that to what I was doing I guess it would prolly be about 2kish per hour.

If I did my math right, 2.4k nats per hour.

For some reason I think your figures are off - abyss is more fun anyways :P

My figures are not that far off. Here is what I do - try it yourself

1. Start at Zanaris with 25 essence + small, meduim and large pouches(full) in inventory, wearing nature tiara, carrying Dramen staff and full energy

2. Run to Zanaris Fairy rings and dial up CKR

3. Run from Fairy rings to nature altar and convert essence to nats (in my case 43)

4. Run from nature altar to Fairy rings and teleport to Zanaris

5. Run from Fairy rings to bank

6. Deposit the nats with banker and withdraw 1 Super energy potion (4 doses) and fill inventory with essence

7. Fill pouches and drink all 4 doses of Super energy potion

8. Deposit empty vial into bank and re-fill inventory with essence

You are now back to step 1.

This process takes aroung 2 to 2.5 mins per run

NOTE - I have 63 agility which allows me to complete one trip running all the time. If you can't achieve running all the time then, obviously, the number of runs will decrease.

So, doing 25 to 30 runs per hour I can achieve 1075 to 1290 nats per hour.

By the looks of what other people have said this is slower that Abyss, but still provides a reasonable return and you are safe from those dreaded Abyss PKer's.

Additionally this method does not require the purchasing/crafting of lots of Glory amulets, and then charging of them. Perhaps if this were factored in then the Abyss method might not seem so attractive

And what if you need to repair patches? Thats one of the main bonuses of Abyss Runecrafting. The pouch repair is on the way to the altar.

OK - forgot about that.

So, I admit defeat and agree that the Abyss is quicker. However, I think I will stick to my method - its almost as quick, but definately safer.

The glory price and recharging disadvantage more than offsets their advantage. You pay for them once - unless you aren't paying attention and get PKed. This is a one time fee of less than one million gp, if you buy a standard ten of them. Considering that you can craft nearly 1k more an hour using the abyss, you would make back that mill in extra profits you wouldn't get from the rings in three or four hours.

Plus, recharging them takes around five minutes. Far less than the amount of wasted time by the rings.

My personal preference is the abyss, for its speed. Some people prefer not to be annoyed by PKers. I would just like to point out that the price only seems heavy, when in reality, the method more than pays for itself. Besides, you can always re-sell the amulets.

It's very hard to be PKed. If you wear full dragonhide, and other magic defense items, magic rarely hits you. In addition, if you simply bring a one click teleport, you're protected. If the pker does teleblock first, simply continue running to the mage. If the PKer snares first, then teleport. I havn't been caught while paying attention EVER. And neither should anyone else.

The mage can still tele you when you have teleblock the only time you will realise that you have been teleblocked is when you try to tele back to edgeville. Then you just log out then in and you can tele to edgeville.

Its still the abyss and will always be the abyss.

Surprised you haven't given up with the fortune telling Fresh, since you got burned by Hunter :P Although having said that on this particular point I am inclined to agree with you. I don't see Jagex introducing any method quicker than the abyss.

Don't rush off to the Abyss quite yet.

Another popular method is to start at Edgeville, run to the Fairy Ring east of Edge (cross the bridge, but no wildy involved), dial CKR, and then run to Nat Altar.

Runecraft, tele to Edge, bank, drink regular restore pot, repeat.

It's still a bit slower than the Abyss, but faster than the other way.

Check out the details of Method 3.

Plus, if your pouches degrade, you'll already be in Edge, and can make 1 run to the Abyss to craft and repair.

Personally, I don't like giving PKers the satisfaction of making runs through the Abyss. Social miscreants that they are.

the abyss is WAYYYYYY faster also because of the recharging amy of glory disadvantage i tihkn u should have lots of glories so u hav to recharge less(i hav 25) and also using the gameroom necklace makes recharging glories MUCH FASTER

although i never actually used energy/superenergy pots before to make it go by faster ill try it out and see da averags u cna rc in an hour
