I don't think there's a point in banning the ads that sell gold for other games as that's not illegal by Jagex's standards, and we're a RuneScape website, not a W.O.W. fan site. We need to be thinking this way as according to Daigon, we're running out of space (or already are out of space) for the ban list on Google ads.

Just a note for Daigon - I spoke to Silverion about ads for other MMORPGs and he does not have a problem with them.

Regarding the Lords of Evil ad image - my *personal opinion* is that this ad is not technically nudity - this art style was used on the cover of SF books back in the 1930s. The lady is adequately covered, it's not pornographic.

They're using the internet to exercise their freedom from being punched in the mouth.

All tip.it team is making the best they can and is not easy to kick all those unwanted ads. We tested a lot of adv network but they are not so good as Google.
The problem is that Google has the limit of the sites that we can ban. When we reached that limit, more than one year ago, we decided to change our politic.

Last year we had no problem:
we banned every gold seller site, pop-up (at least we remove all adv using popups) .. we removed every unwanted ad.
Today we we are less restrictive because Google Adsense (and the other network) keep alive Tip.it, so we have to continue to use them.

So we can ban (or better we try) ads of site selling RS gold , pornograpy and nudity, tobacco, alcohol, weapons, extreme animations, popups and layers.
We have to keep and to show mmorpg's gold seller and similar, meeting sites (because of limitation of sites that we can ban)
I'm sorry but actually we have no choice. We are still working on this problem too.

Anyway We always take attention to the Jagex rules.

So dont worry, go on and send us your unwanted adv and we can try to do the best to ban them from our site.

Thx to all.

I am not reporting an ad (if you delete this i'll be ok) but World of warcraft advertisements are not considered a threat to be removed. If you are thinking about posting one please see this thread I posted

Sorry but I had some problems to login to the adsense's account of silverion, so i banned that banner only now, thx

It's still there(and I'm in Canada). Only ad that comes up in the top banner.

Google ads bans take a few hours to kick in. If you are still having issues in a few hours, please let us know.

I was about to report the LotR:O ad myself before I read this post and the above. I'm just so tired of it. In extreme cases it has managed to crash my Browser and I have yet to have an occurrence of it not lagging me severely when I browse Tip.It and it comes up. If it isn't on, things run fine. If it is on, I lag unbelievably.

Just a short blog entry today. I thought I'd share my feelings on the most recent slayer update, strykewyrms. If you're out of the loop, strykewyrms are new slayer monsters with high level requirements that can only be fought if randomly assigned as a task; they drop new ranged and magic analogues to melee's black mask and a new staff with powerful special abilities.

I'm not really sure where else to put this, so I thought I'd report it here. While browsing through tip.it forums, I was suddenly taken to this site: http://secoscan.info...088wLzQzL1EzL== where it said I had a bunch of viruses on my computer and it tried get me to download something to remove them. I spotted several indications that this was a scam, so I didn't let it do anything and navigated away. I'm not even sure this has anything to do with tip.it, but it happened while I was reading the forums.

ADVERTISER: Earn £46 per hour from home
URL: https://www.securesi...country=England
TYPE:
SITE:
MY LOCATION: England
REASON: SCAM SITE

This ad offers the opportunity to earn money working from home. A link from the ad leads to a page selling the idea of earning thousands working from home and promises there is no scam. If you click the order link you are asked to fill in a form and pay £2.29 to join the scheme.

If you scroll to the bottom of this page you find the small print, which says . . .

By ordering, I am clearly indicating that I give express informed consent to acceptance of the offer, including enrollment in the negative option programs and that I am ordering the Click Money CD for $2.29 S&H, and also being enrolled in the trial membership. After the 3 day trial, I will be charged $129.95 onetime and $39.98 a month thereafter if I do not cancel. I also agree to the 14 and 21 day bonus trial to Rebate Millionaire and Network Agenda for $29.95 a month and $9.95 a month thereafter should I choose not to cancel.

So anyone who does not scroll down will not realise that instead of making a single, one-time payment of £2.29, they are also agreeing to another payment in three days of £129.95 and further monthly payments of almost £70.00 altogether.

Obviously this site is a scam and probably illegal and should not be advertised here.

I am not infected, I use Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 and Google Chrome as my web browser. Chrome tells me if a site has traces of malware but doesn't open the actual web page, preventing me from harm. This is more of a direct issue of the site, not me.

There's an ad for antimalware (not sure of the URL, sorry) that is malicious. It closes out of your browser and opens an alert box that prompts you to scan your computer.

There's also an ad for gamingahead.com that I suspect is malicious. It often opens up automatically (with Firefox popup blocker) and is hard to close, and it causes my browser to crash.

Location: United States

EDIT:

URL: http://www.vidshadow...B2-B3BEF3C9D213

This ad doesn't appear to be malicious, but it does automatically navigate someone to their website, which is rather annoying.

For the antimalware ad mentioned above, I got this window to help out.
Seems it mentions the URL in the bar. Didn't navigate to confirm it. :P
