last night i went bowling, my second game out of like 6 or 7 was my best that i've had in a long time. i scored 152 points and i got a turkey! (3 strikes in a row). my last game was almost as good, with 126 points. now my lower back hurts a lot from the repetitive motion but it was totally worth it.

 

so, my dog had puppies under my porch outside. any advice on raising newborn puppies?

Went to Intensity Music Festival today - it was the first year they've ever done it and so sound tech problems out the wazzoo. And most of the bands were "christian" so not all of them were all that great (though some were rather good). Being as an Ocean may be one of my favorite bands now. They're like Brand New meets a La Dispute/Defeater mashup. Also, Fit for Kings are super good and I, the Breather put on a kickass show (though, they're meh, musically, to me).

I actually totally would if it wasn't all the way in Williamsburg. I'm currently almost entirely poor as can be seeing as I've spent ~500$ this month on upgrading/customizing my bass and buying vinyls and going to concerts. So driving long distances (aka paying for gas) isn't really doable at the moment. :(

 

 

E: Also just noticed I have bruises all over my triceps/under forearms from moshing. Luls.

I saw BAAO a couple months ago. Their performance was pretty good and I enjoy listening to them occasionally. I'm annoyed by that band + their image for a few reasons that aren't so easily explained though.

 

They also have a new song coming out tomorrow, so I'll keep an eye out for that.

They put on a phenomenal show. Te very firat song their lead singer just jumped into the crowd haha. He also sang an entire song in the crowd itself which was cool.

 

I'm gonna buy their album on vinyl today probably.

Got my custom neck plate today for my bass as well as my DynaComp Pedal. Weeeee almost done.

 

Just need the body back from my friend who is painting it and then to get new tuning pegs and eventually a new neck.

A few days ago my friend and I booked everything for the trip we'll be taking in September and we've struck up a bunch of bargains and made the whole thing much cheaper than we had predicted it at a first browse. For a trip of about 17 days in which we visit 5 major cities we pay in total for transportation and lodging a measly 381 euros. Considering we had first estimated 630 euros I'm real glad.

I'd really like to see pictures of that when it's done, it sounds awesome.

 

Anyway, haven't been up to much myself lately. Worked a bunch, and afterwards hung out with friends a lot.

Haha, my old band opened for Being as an Ocean last year. They're all awesome dudes, a lot closer sonically to mewithoutYou than La Dispute though (but you should definitely check out mewithoutYou as well if you like La Dispute haha)

 

I never seem to be able to bring myself to post anything here anymore. It's been a pretty crazy last few weeks; I've had some of the best nights of the summer as well as one of the lowest points I've been in months. Everything's mostly starting to look up though; I've gotten over the bad shit and now I'm going to a Justin Timberlake concert with a girl I'm talking to tomorrow which should be pretty fantastic haha.

I found out that my roommate is for the upcoming year is going to be a Chinese dude. Haven't met him yet, so that's all I know. Should be interesting, at least.

Otherwise, been uneventful here...

Got a new phone, sort of over the moon about it. It's identical to my old one, minus being in much better shape. Got it off a guy who still had the original freaking packaging, so that's always a good sign, and my SIM card lived, so that's good too. Some of my appointments are even still there if they were tired to a certain email address, an unexpected bonus. On a weirder note, I'm thinking the cellphone holder has been through the washing machine more than once, so both it and the phone are impregnated with the scent. I can actually smell it on the nightstand in the morning, so I'm glad it's a scent that doesn't bother me.

I probably should have done some kind of sport in high school. After lazing around and eating mostly junk food for most of the year I'm able to run a 10 minute mile without any issues. Would have made high school more eventful for me at least.

Well with summer coming to an end its about time for band camp to start up again at uni. I am 99% sure to be the low brass section leader for the second year in a row. Should be a good time.

Sammmmmmmmme. I almost went to their show in Richmond in May, but I had graduation. They were playing with Native too which would have been sick.

Summer coming to an end? It just started.

I feel when band camp starts for me summer ends. Basically I'll be busy from next week all the way up to then end of the year.
