Back Online! Got my new appartment during the weekend and got connected to the internet and HDTV today.

Going to Ghent tomorrow to find an apartment to live in during the school weeks next year. I'm curious what I'll be seeing.

Been super ill the last 3 days, no sign of getting better. I can't stand being sick.

 

I was in the first 8 users of chatroulette back when it was called head2head. Is that enough to get me into the hipster club?

Rushed to be onsite for 9am because they're repenting after major renovations and they want a tech here in case something goes wrong and the guy who was supposed to be here called in sick.

 

Now I'm standing around twiddling my thumbs because they're not actually opening until 11 and there's techs from two other companies checking over all the equipment so there's nothing for me to do...but I'm still getting paid! :D

In other news, I'm still sick so I watched the first 2 seasons of batman beyond in one sitting. Good God they don't make tv shows like they used to.

Today I got two new Warhammer 40k books. Can't wait to read them, as I ran out quite a while ago.

Well I won't be going to gas stations for a while, a quarter of a tank of gas in my echo lasts more than a week and the tank is busted so I can't put more than 3/4 without having gas leaking. Guess I'll have to wait until it flashes everytime before putting gas.

What I'm hearing is you can't park on an incline or brake too hard :P

 

As an aside, it bugs me when people give me their gas milage in units of time. If all I did was drive to the nearest beach for work everyday and the grocery store once a week, I could get a month out of Hummer (or a Tank). I know they tend to get good milage, but about how far would it be traveling? Also, how big is the tank? (I'm interested in how good it actually is)

 

Started working on learning the dvorak keyboard. Guess I'll find out when I wake up if any of that work took. If it did, I should know the home row, and maybe a few other keys as well. Also delighted that there is a programmer version of it (a couple punctuation marks are moved, an the number row is entirely redone to make things more convenient, though I'm not entirely sure why the numbers end up ordered that way. I'll probably do it as a custom and skip the number reordering.

 

Looks like a rainy week. Very happy about that. First day in like 3 weeks it hasn't hit 30C in my room all day (28.6!), and I'm all like awesome.

 

I finished up season 8 of Criminal minds. So happy that they don't spread their season finales over two seasons (that is, end on a cliff hanger). I think it speaks volumes about their confidence. They don't need to be like to get people coming back. Other shows I'll lock up the final episode until the next season comes out.

I looked at my bank and noticed I was low on Swordies, so I took a trip to Catherby. Nobody was there, not even a bot. Started harpooning and the 4th fish I catch is a Big Swordfish. Not sure how rare this is, just wanted to share.

True, units of time for that is quite vague. Thing that might annoy you again is that I'm going to use the metric system. I work at about 10 Km from my appartment, and it's a 40L tank as far as I know. When the light flashes for the gas there is still enough to brake hard or park on an incline, although I still have to take care of how long I go while it flashes, but I usually fill it when it just starts.

I've been trying out infused vodka as a very important personal project. I've done various fruits but found that the flavour of the fruit doesn't really seep through. It could be the vodka I'm using or the amount of fruit. I'm gonna have a fun time testing out skittles. Again, this is very crucial research.

Don't worry, we use the metric system here in Canada too (yes, Randox's a fellow canuck).

 

I'd tell you how much gas my service truck uses...but it's frankly kind of depressing. I'm just glad I don't have to pay for the gas! :grin:

Nah, I'm Atlantic provinces too, so metric is awesome (unless you're building a house or measuring your height). I would definitely not complain about milage like that.

 

Even my parents Mini isn't spectacular. I think it averages about 8-9L/100km, though if you only take it on rural roads and highways, it will do 7L/100km (that is, the difference between driving around the city and a highway is about 150km over 50L of gas).

I get over 30 miles to the gallon and I still have to fill up around once a week, which costs me around $40 for a full tank.

Yes.

 

Use a drill or a knife to cut a hole in the water melon. Open bottle. Place open bottle neck into mwlon hole. Leave it there for an hour or two. You now have delicious alcoholic watermelon.
