Go play some stealing creation if you can. Buy morphic tools and make clay hammers with them. The hammers will double your exp. This might well be a bit slower for construction because of time spent on stealing creation, but the point here is not speed but cheep xp. Basicly if you get double xp with a hammer, you only have to buy half as much (actualy buy a bit more, I always come up short when I buy half of what I normally need).

Fury prices omg
I got my furry long enough ago that I don't care if it becomes cheep. I expect this is just another item price beign slaughtered by changes to pvp. I know a few other items have been hit hard. As long as SS's don't start dropping, I think i'll be fine. If SS's start dropping in pvp, I think i'll just go [cabbage] a brick (maybe a few bricks).

Rune Scimitar vs Silverlight when fighting Demons ?
Silverlight is supposed to have the same stats as a rune long vs deamons. Assuming this is correct, then its great for people who can't afford a rune scim. But, if you can afford the scim, chances are you will get better training out of it.

11th May 2009 - Offence System maintenance - UPDATED
I am fairly certain I have seen the jmods acknowledge the idea of a white mark system. I don't think it will ever exist because it would just be completly abused. About the bf/gf thing. I am 99% certain they said solicitation is against the rules. Asking for a bf/gf would be a PRIME EXAMPLE of solicitation. I am glad they didn't just remove the marks and keep the colours. I am happy with te hnew system. Of course I ahve never needed to use it and hopefully never will

Discuss - Preview : Changes to the Offence System
I like that lagacy punishments will be gone (not that I have any). I won't complain if its easier to tell what to report something under either. I don't understand the thing about the balck marks. It used to be just numbers, now its numbers and colours. Sounds to me like they are going to colours. I personaly find vague colours unerving and confusing because I don't know where I stand. I like numbers. Numbers make sense (unless you just started intigration). I think mute in the game always carried over to the forums, but never the other way around. Presumably this means a pmod 48hour mute results in a temporary perm ban from foums (the fmod equivaent to a 48 hour mute), and temp bans by fmods will become 48 hour ingame mutes. I won't complain about that. Why should someone be abusive on the forums, only to be banned while allowing him to go abuse some players in the game. Makes me wonder about the future of pmods/fmods too. Will they all become dual mods? I doubt it just because as I understand it they have separate guidelines and everything, but it will be interesting to see.

Harrassment from another player - how to deal?
Ignore and put fento 'friends'. Ignoreing dosen't prevent people from messaging you, therfore it also does not hide your world. You will need to turn private to something other than on to hide your world.

Jagex gives banned accounts a 2nd chance.
For the people claiming this is a joke, you are also saying that people can't change. A perm ban is a death sentance for a charecter. A perm mute is something like a twisted form of verbal parole. Some things shouldn't be forgiven, and obviosly Jagex realises that. But not everyone with a perm ban/mute deserves it. People change. Considering there are players who get decent accounts banned when their about 13, chances are they might have matured in a couple years. There are people who deserve these chances. I applaud Jagex for taking the time to weed out the people who deserve this. If anything gets through, chances are they will be re banned again shotly after their second chance, and I doubt they'll gte chance 3 anytime soon.

This report ACTUALLY went through...?
Iam going to go off what compfreak said because your evidence is not there. If you asked for a GF, be glad the wrath of Jagex did not come crashing down upon you. Ever beein in f2p lumby, with all the people asking for gfs? Ever seen them all fall silent? Sometimes you'll see pmods chatting at the same tome, sometimes not. But it seems to me they all take action against this sort of thing, and if Jagex has empowered them to mute it, you can bet that they DO NOT take solicitation lightly. I would expect the Fmods are under a similar mandate.
-
COME ON? A mute for this?
Who thought to report that. Even the Pmods would probably laugh. I guess you need to put a 'lol' at the end or type a 'jk' line or something to show your not serious. Makes me wonder how I got through 5 years of RS without a black mark. I know people must have reported me before. What I expect happened, is the jmod who got the report is either having a bad day, or more likely, recently delt with a few racist players. Someone who is already in a bad mood is more likely to deal out a harser punishment. It's not fair, but its human. The worlds not fair anyways.

Optional PIN Number
I think the reasoning is so that someone dosen't get into your account and then set a pin. Though, if the person can access your account and you don't have a pin, theres not a big advantage to setting up a pin unless they wanted to hijack the account as opposed to loot it, in which case the pin would keep you from salvageing stuff by sending it to a secondary account. If your wondering why my resoning is ignoreing trade limits, its because pins were added before the trade limit so I must assume that it was never a consideration. The arguments pretty week though. I actualy have no clue why its that way.

The ring of wealth is a LIE!
People think this and assume the ring increased your chances of ANY rare drop compared to normal drops. This is false. The Knowledge Base explains it better. As you can see from the statement above, the ring does NOT INCREASE your chance to get a rare drop in your overall drops, but rather increases the chance your rare drop will be more valuable, if you happen to spin a rare drop in the first place. No. What it means is that it no effect on the probibility of getting a chance at a rare. The second wheel has blanks, so even when you hit rare on wheel one, you are not garunteed a rare at all. The ROW affects teh second wheel to make blanks less common. Now, it might bias the second wheel to more valuble rares too, but its only confirmed to increase the chance of getting teh rare by increasing teh probibility of getting something on the second (rare item) wheel.

Things runescape has taught me
I have learned: - That using the bathroom is completly optional and there are entire contenants without so much as an outhouse. - When I go to sleep I actualy just dissapear. - I have the power of reincarnation along with almost everything else. - Strangers dont mind when you walk into their house weilding a huge sword and wearing blood stained armour. - Its always daytime.

My Quincunx
I am only going to comment on the precedents for now. I completly agree with gpguy. If you view Jagex's responses to bug abuse as a court ruleing, then it matters not whether a bug was harmful or not. By not punishing people for a harmless bug like the ape atoll one, you are telling everyone that its ok to abuse bugs. The full thought extention of 'its ok to abuse bugs' would be 'its ok to abuse all bugs. Its the way law works, and its also the way our brains work. We do not always make a distinction between good/bad (bug abuse). Its worse if they do this to a more serious bug yes, but doing it to the harmless stuff is not good. It means no one knows what Jagex is going to do because their descisions are all over the proverbial map.

scariest game
I don't remember the game, but a few years back a friend had one. I think it was some resident evil game. Anyways things kept coming out of nowhere and scaring the [bleep] out of me. I think I managed about 20 minutes of feeling like a squirrel playing that game, which was about 15 inutes more than my friend ever managed (well, eventualy he got older and probably played it). There are a few levels from 'enter the matrix' that scare me. One was some guy crashing through a wall. Totaly unexpected. I thought I was going to have a heart attack (I was probably about 14  ). And then the agent smith levels were not so much scary, but really stressful. I hated playing those levels because its like subjectign yourself willingly to having anxiety attacks. I'm not so scared of any of that any more nor do I own any scary games Another anxious gaming moment would be Rainbow six 3. Especial online. Once, me and a friend were playign in a large game. He had a P90 and red phosphorus grenade launcher. I had an M4 assult rifle and magnum (no thats not really important info). Anyways someone set off a breaching charge when I was almost at a door. Scared the [bleep]ing bejeasus right out of me. When insued was a 3 minute high intesity firefight.

What grave do you have?
Angel of Death. I used to die sometimes when I mined more wild stars. I can reach most places in RuneScape in about 4.5 minutes, giving me 1.5 minutes to get all my stuff.

A Nostalgic Look at Holidays Past
Aside from the feeling that...I can'belive i'm going to say this...I have been totally wtf pwned by the amazingly craptastic reward (I thought is was a barrel with a punny little flail attached), I didn't mind the event. It dosen't stack up to the 2004 (?, easter ring year), or the last halloween event which was actualy pretty good (and by event I mean the quest because the event was not good), but it could have been worse than the christmas one. Anyways, I had fun doing it, and thats what matters. I am starting to find the number of people asking for help both funny and sad. This is easier than the halloween event, but still makes you think a tiny little bit. People have no ability to help themselves any more.

Should I invest fish in my kingdom??
Maple is not even in the top 4. The best are raw fish and either coal or flax (last I checked there was negligable difference), and I belive cooked fish is after that. Cooked fish is moot though since raw fish is worth more and you can't have both.

Tip.It Times: 5 April 2009
I really like the article about names and am in complete agreement. Randox is a part of me, but also separate. I like to think of Randox as my e-persona, the person I become when I am on the internet. I belive that Randox is what I aspire to be, what I can be when anomity removes the social constraints that make me...someone else in real life. I am a beliver that who you are on the internet, as long as it is with people you dont know in real life, is who you really are. We are not the people that others see. We can only see who we really are by observing ourselves when we think no one is watching. Do you keep doing your homework when your parents leave the house, or do you sneak in some possibly forbiden TV time. The internet is much teh same way.

Seers' Journal: 2nd Edition - New and Improved!
I hate issues with only one browser because there hard to fix (sometimes). I have one on a forum with a piece of javascript hiding a piece of glabal code when your off the main page. Firefox loads and displays the hidden code before it gets to the end of the hide code (it runs code as it reads it), where IE loads ALL the code then decides what to do which prevents a pice from getting loaded so it can be displayed for hal a second. Libs, contact unorclan privately, and if he dosen't respond then contact me. And if you do contact me, I dont care if you pm me on these forums or the SJ forums, though all things considered it would be best if it were the SJ forums.

Why female players are underepresented in RuneScape?
I agree with the people saying that as you get older you get more females playing, but there are difinatly plenty of teen girls playing. I think us guys are just in denial made easier by everyone useing a male avatar. I have noticed that about half the quest capes I see belong to girl avatars, pleading me to think that girls generaly like skilling and questing more than boys, and thet they get fewer be my gf comments because people learn very fast that no girl with a quest cape is going to say yes. I also agree that the ratio of females to males is greater than the RuneScape average among the pmods. From personal observation, I would say that females make up nearly half of the pmods (at least the more active ones). I have known a few girls who are in to games. Its weird because I find alot of them don't really advertise it at all. Guys asume that all they do is go on facebook, but I can tell you how supprised I was when a girl (who was remarkably pretty, and very social) I knew not only mentioned she played Halo, but was able to kick my [wagon] at it (at the time, that was no small feat considering I am very skilled at the game myself). The girl I took to my grade 9 'grad' (well graduation dance from junior high) played RS. She was never into the game as much as I was, but she did play. Now would be a good time to mention that some of the girls I have met in some games (like a certain space shooter) have been quite 'butch'. One in particular probably because she was playing in a close community of all guys (plus her), and all the guys ever wanted to talk about was sex and sexual jokes. I no longer play with that group at all, I got tired of it. They shoudl have stopped talking about it and just gotten some or something (no one whos done it talks about it that freaking much). I should also mention that both the girl who beat me at Halo and the one I took to the dance were 'girly' girls too. Theres definatly alot of stereotypes facing females, both on the internet and off it, and I suppose that being a guy I am glad I don't have to put up with it. Of course females get cheeper car insurance (despite the fact you will never find a guy who thinks that the average female is a better driver than the average male). Actualy, on the subject of drivers, I once found a few rules of life. One of the rules was 'everyone belives they are an above average driver'.

A RuneScape Magazine - Your Thoughts?
The postbag is a cross between question asking and information giving. Some players ask about things that dont really exist in the game, like the lives of vertain npcs, and there are answers just as unrealated. But sometimes you get questions about lore and whatnot, and the answers to those are just as interesting. Then you get the chaos elemental who actualy gives clues about future content on a regular basis.

A RuneScape Magazine - Your Thoughts?
I am going to be honest in that I generaly hate the idea of e-zines and other things like them. I also know thats an odd comment considering I work for the Seer's Journal and wrote for the Gielinor Tribune before that. The thing is, once you get into something the size of a magazine or a real newspaper, its way to big to read on a computer. I hate reading overly long things on a computer screen, it hurts the eyes (literaly it does do damage over time), and its more difficult to do. This is why you should never edit stuff on a computer, you miss things. That leaves me printing the bloody thing off, which if I do it in full colour woudl probably cost more than a subscription fee because I don't use an office laser printer, but rather a home use inkjet for which the replacement ink costs nearly as much as the printer did brand new. And its a single color cartrage, not component colour cartrages, so once the yellow runs out its toast (my parents has separate colors, and the yellow runs out way faster than cyan and magenta do). Anyways, I prefer reading things on paper, because I don't get all the people trying to read my laptop screen on the bus, and my laptop dosent get stolen or broken. My newspaper and magazines also do not run out of power, especialy useful during storms when reading is one of a few good ways to stay sane. But the idea of a magazine itself I do love. It could have some development and all kinds of other stuff in it. Community news would be fascinating I am sure (and am NOT being sarcastic). It would be awsome if the player community could make something of that size on a monthly basis, but I don't feel like giving players my mailing address and I already did a small rant on exactly how I feel about reading large articles on a monitor and what I think about mass colour printing. An example would be the loss of all my Baldur's Gate manuals (I didn't lose them, someone else did  ). There small encyclapedias in their own right, each nearly 200 pages (I think). I printed the bloody things off, 2 pages per sheet of paper, then used my foot to hit the stapler hard enough to staple sections of the manual together (its a pain past about 20-25 sheets of paper). And I only printed off what I needed to for SoA if your wondering. Anyways idea is good but I hate magazines that are only available online so it woudl need to be both online and mailed, like a newspaper.
