9th June 2009 - Run Energy Update / Patch Notes
That puts a damper on the updates. Best updates paired with the years biggest [bleep]up? If that wiped my GE offers and destryed my gilded I am going to be pissed  I think the return policy is actualy a matter of what is technicaly possible. They should have rolled the servers back as soon as they realised what had happened. An hours worth of XP or so pales next to offers on the GE beign wiped. On the plus side, everyone who was borrowing an item is now super happy and if the GE was even half wiped then that should set inflation back about a year. There is no doubt that if they figured this out within an hour that they should have rolled back all the servers, even if it ment undoing the fixes. Then, they should take teh servers off line until they could fix it properly. It better have been immpossible to fix the glitches and prevent this at teh same time because they will almost certainly lose memberships over this. They just posted a big [bleep] you! We don't give a damn! no matter how immposible it may be to return items.

9th June 2009 - Run Energy Update / Patch Notes
Best updates of the year hands down! And I wasen't around for the glitching, so my view is not tainted by that experiance. They even increased the awsome factor by releasing it on tuesday. I havn't really been looking, but I think the RSOF is strugling to find anything to complain about (they'll probably latch on to the agility thing, which was the only downer in the whole update. And its a pretty fair thing to change), and even the thred claiming that Jagex has 'done it', as in created the epic update that if not please everyone, don't upset anyone (aside from former memebrs with agility levels, and pkers who used that as an advantage).

Are you a lazy Grand Exchanger?
Normally when selling I don't need the money at that moment (or more to the point don't care if it sells right away), so I use the average. Sometimes I tweak the price if the items rising or falling alot to compensate (if the item is skyrocketing, chances are you can sell it near or at max). Buying, I normally pick a price between average and max that I think will buy fairly fast. This nromally involves rounding prices up to the nearest 50, 100, or 1000, because most people would sell (without the GE, and many people still do this on the GE too) items as multiples of 10, with a few exceptions (generaly cheep items are more likely to be traded as weird prices, even pre GE).

Profanity: Legally Bypassing the RS Censor
The difference between an acronym and a partialy censored word. Well damn, ones an ACRONYM and ones a PARTIALY CENSORED WORD. The difference between wtf and what the f**k is twofold. The latter takes alot longer to type, and the last word has 2 letters showing (thats 50% of the word) showing instead of 1 letter (which is 25% of the word). Oh my, thats a 25% difference in how much of the word is shown. Besides, I expect that the jmods, pmods, and fmods alike will all consider this intentionaly misspelling a word. I am fairly certain the f word does not normally have to asteriks (or any astericks) in it, and you are intentionaly preventing the censor from doing what it was designed to do. Jagex has given their blessing to acronyms, not to censor evasion. Do this if you wan't, but it begs the question: Why do you feel such an overwhelming urge to not only curse, but make sure other people know what curse words you use? You already have the freedom to swear as much as you wan't. All Jagex asks is that you let the censor star it out. Your 'target audiance' can already decode the stars, so basicly all your trying to do is make sure even more people know what you are trying to say. As far as increasing your audice for swearing, you have one very [cabbage]ty goal from where I am standing.

Mod Mat K & Manipulator clans Debate
Whether Jagex Intervened, the GE glitched, or we just suffered from divine intervention (Guthix hates merchants), it now looks like Jagex just sent the biggest middle finger in history to merchant clans. The should make them all mill around in self doubt for a while, and I hope we see some equaly divine interventions in the future.

100% favor
If you going to cut, which I recomend because you also need to find a goutweed tuber as one of the tasks, I recomend the red topaz machete because its faster than all the others.

What is rich?
Assuming you have the levels that you could now be using things like rune armour, or better than iron arrows (ie you have some level of expenses), then I would put poverty at about 100k. Why so low, it means you can't buy the stuff that you pretty much need. I would put poor at about 100k-500k. I have gap that needs to filled, so I introduce youto the Low Class, which is going to be 500k-1.2m (1.2 mill being enough to run the kingdom with 15 workers a day for 6 days). I am also going to introduce a transition class that starts at 2.4mill (so that you can stick 1.2m in the kingdom and still have 1.2m as available cash) and goes to 3m. Then I am going to use a chart to illustrate everything I have said and all the other catagoreys. Poverty - <100k Poor - 100k-500k Low Class - 500k - 1.2m Tranisiton - 2.4m - 3m Middle Class - 3m - 8m Upper Middle - 8m - 18m Well Off - 18m - 50m Rich - 50m - 100m Filthy Rich - 100m - 1b Middle Finger Rich - >1b

27th May - Dungeon maps and spam filter
I don't think tip.its maps were a waste. Aside from the years of pain and suffering we all would have had to endure without them, you chaos tunnels map is still better. Yours shows where the portals go allowing me to plan routes rather than getting in there and guessing.

27th May - Dungeon maps and spam filter
Lets be honest. Ok, the old hp was historic. But like much of history, it really is not worth saving The old bar looked like...well it WAS created with MS PAINT! I am all for an hp bar with...OMG IT HAS MORE THAN 2 FREAKING COLOURS! NO FREAKING WAY! And I bow down to the awsomeness of the new splashes.

GPU Overheating?
My laptop has an interesting (to me anyways) problem that happens occasionaly while playing RuneScape. My screen will freeze, and the computer will appear unresponsive for what must be almost a minute. The first time this happened I hit ctrl-alt-del and when the thing started working again it was at the screen where you can select task manager and whatnot (runs on Vista). So I know the CPU's are still running. It also performs the cortesy of closing any internet browsers running. I have also noticed that word documents, while the program in not closed, can not be restored from the task bar and the program must be forcefully terminated with the task manager. Anyways, I installed speedfan today so that I could get temperature readings for a gadet in the sidebar. Speed fan is currently set to display the GPU temperature when minimized (figured since it runs about 12 C hotter than the dual core it was more important to keep an eye on that temp). Lo and behold, I had the screen freeze today. I have observed that my computer generaly starts running the fans when GPU hits 57C. The temperature had been reading 59C for a few minutes before the freeze and I am wondering if it detected a temp of 60C and immediatly rebooted the Graphics, and attempted to close programs that were using the GPU or its memory (or maybe thats a side effect). Before I give the system specs, I am wondering if the problem could be that the fan only responds to the CPU heat, and the GPU hot while the CPU did not, and the fans did not come on hard enough to cool the graphics card. Speedfan is completly unable to provide any data on voltages or fan speed (theres irony for you). Windows Vista Home Premium HP Pavilion dv6500 Notebook PC Intel Core2 Duo CPU T5450 @ 1.66GHz (2CPUs), ~1.7GHz 2GB RAM DirectX 10 NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS 880MB total memory (note that I am almost certain some of this is my 2GB of ram, unless theres a chird RAM chip in there for my graphics to use in addition to intigrated memory) My GPU idle temp seems to be around 52-54 The CPU tends to be around 47 I am wondering if these are even possible symptoms of an overheat. Oh, when the screen comes back it that the video drive (possibly driver) has stopped responding and succesfully recovered. My theory is that it stops responding because its rebooting.

Finally, a soul wars activity bar, though is it good or bad?
I already don't play the game because of lag. Bear in mind thats all server lag, none of it is my conection. While I definatly agree the damned free loaders needed to be stopped (not to mention taken out back and shot), I don't think this will fix the lag issue, and will almost certainly make it worse to the point where the game is unplayable.

Profitable magic?
I cant cast b2p (I wish I could, but I am NOT ready to put myself through teh MTA right now). Off the top of my head I can make 300 tabs in probably 30-40 minutes if turn all my chats off. I think I can get 400 done in a little under an hour. Maybe someone here can tell you how fast they do it. I know for tele tabs, if your good you can make them at a similar speed you can cast (minus down time for butler). I expect that you can probably do the same for b2p.
-
Profitable magic?
Making tele tabs of any kind is profitable. I recomend using a butler of some sort (demon idealy because it takes no time to unnote items). The profit from tabs more than pays for the butler too. Of course, this assumes you have a house with some sort of lecturn in it.

How do you move?
I use the minimap if I am moving more than a few spaces generaly. I always use the minimap when moving around between cities (if I don't tele) or inside of them. Generaly if I am moving around within a building or small area, I use the game screen instead. I almost exclusively use the game screen when inside my POH.

What grave do you have?
To explain my comment about beign able to get most places in 4.5 minutes giving me 1.5 to get stuff (months after posting said comment): Items stick around for a minute after the grave goes kaput, so I actualy have 6 mins to get stuff. I still have the angel of death (why would I ever downgrade from a 500k gravestone?). I need to die more often so that I can admire it. Come here you cute little revenant ork ARRAGGHHHH *chomp**chomp* ohhhh look at the pretty grave.

What is your favourite quest and why?
Dragon slayer was epic from my time as f2p. But overal Ernest teh chicken had to be my hands down favorite of all the free quests, because I love that maze under the house. Honorable mentions go to: -Murder Mystery. Probably my second favorite quest, becaus its just awsome. -Tha one where where a defence lawyer, after murder mystery. That was fun too. -Elemental workshop 2. That machince was AWSOME. -RFD. I still am not done because I have to beat a part of DT I am not done yet. RFD can not be my favorite because it reqires 2 quests I hate. DT and the lighthouse one with dagnoths. -Monkey Madness. Scary at the time, awsome in retrospect. My all time favorite? I bet not many people chose this one. MOURNINGS END PART 2 :!:   :? :ohnoes: :o :?:  :wall:  I love having done the quest every one dreds. For once in that god forsaken series of quests, I didn't have much trouble with the agility obsticle (only failed 10 times total), did the whole puzzle in 1 inventory (not bad considering I used a guide only in so far as knowing what to bring and what order to get chests in). I LOVE puzzle quests And this one is the king of puzzles. I dreded the quest so much and it was not that bad. I have done the infamous MEP2. Hahahaha

How long do sc helms last?
What the wiki quote does not show is that you divide that number by 2 to get the ammount of xp the helm actualy gives. You will gain that much xp while wearing the helm, and 15k is roughly half of that so what you herd is correct. The helm gives a little more than 15k exp, so lasts for a bit more than 30k exp.

IS getting Sc weapons worth it?
Weapons blow. End of story. I once used a clay hatchet for maple trees. What a waste of time. Sure, I got 220xp per log (wearing seers headbant 2 for extra 10xp per log which the hatchet multiplied by 2), but it used nearly 20% per invetory (specificaly it used 19%), and unlike say the clay pick, which is equivalent to rune, the clay hatcjet is basicly bronze. Willows with rune was WAY faster. I use hammer for smithing, and especialy for con because I am cheep (all the money I save goes towards gilding my gouse in gold leaf top to bottom). I dont train fletch but I can see the logic there, and same with crafting.

What weapon should i use?
I have an SS, whip, rune defender and dragon scimitar. I am going to tell you right now that the SS literaly kicks dcim [wagon] 6 way from sunday. The SS has identical speed to the whip, as well as identical atta and str bonus. Without the defender you lsoe a bit of defense and a few str points. You might have your max hit lowered by 1, but thats still sprobably better than a dcim + defender. Out hitting a God sword 3:2 (in terms of speed) the SS deals more damage over extendded period of time than any other 2h sword, and probably more than any spear as well (I have not used all spears so I cant say for certain). Just go find something that does not have alot of accuracy (think along the lines of ankou, or even experiments) and let loose. Also, the spec is awsome. Its a normal hit plus up to 14 magic damage that gives magic xp. The SS is (or shoudl be) the undisputed king of strength xp in player versus monster situations.

Help with Consutruction.
Stealing creation is more fun than construction as far as I am concerned. Also, I don't know about the OP, but I can't make money fast enough to pay for construction. I also suggest NOT building larders if possible. I made some some of oak table at the work bench that used 6 logs each, and was able to make 4 of them each inventory using a servant to unnote planks for me (I lost 4 spaces to money, noted planks, hammer, saw). Of course that setup works with larders too, specificaly that you can build 3 larders even with 24 oak planks. Depends on if you can remove teh larders fast enough I guess. I just hated soing that so I did it another way. Besides, I developed mad dropping skills using my method. My bell pull is not in the same wing of the house as my workshop, so I have to trap my demon butler in there, and he likes to wander 2 rooms down to the throne room. Running back to the workshop AND droping 4 flatpacks before the demon gets back is not easy. The demon takes like 4 seconds to do a trip, so you need to be fast. Also, assuming to use a demon butler (HIGHLY RECOMENDED!!!), divide the number of planks needed by 24 (number per inventory), then divide by 7 (how many times the demon will unnote before you pay him). Now multiply that number by 10000 and you get the ammount of gold you will be paying your demon butler to unnote everything for you. If your thinkabout going cheep and running to the yanille bank, think again. I can make tables at least twice as fast using the butler. And that is using tele tabs to tele from the bank to my house, so I am only running one way. If you wanted to, you can use dueling rings and tele tabs and save money (assuming you make the tabs and sell some to pay for the materials), but its going to cost you more than the butler if you just buy the rings and tabs, and it will be a bit slower.

Does the world know you're playing Runescape?
If someone directly asks me if I play (or if I am playing), I tell them yes. I don't advertise it though. I used ot know alot more people who played the game than I do now. Guess they all got bored with it and I never did. As for playing in public places. Sort of. I bring my laptop to school because I use it to take notes (I go to a small school so that sort of thing flies. I would never dream of taking a laptop to a large public school). It also happens to be wireless. The grade 12 class (yes singular. Small school) has a lounge. I have been known to play RuneScape when I am imensely bored. It help that I can carry on a conversation with class mates while doing some trading or the circus, otherwise it would be completly anti-social. I wouldn't play in a really public place though. Actualy I disliike people even watching me use the computer. I find it creepy. I only talk to people about the game if they play also, and I rarely (if ever) push the topic. I will gladly talk about the game, I just won't maintain the topic, thats the other persons job.

Abbysal minion gives invisible attack bonus?
I dont think you need thousands of samples, but try a few trips over a few days. I find even with ankous there are times where I will have a 30 minute trip because they keep hitting me, and other times I have managed 4+ hours of ankou killing with 16 monkfish (I always bring 16). On different days, it feels like I have gained or lost many defense levels, yet my defence is pretty much constant lately. Another strange observation is that the ammount of hits I take seems to be related to how much health I have. Ankous rarely hit me when I have 56hp, and hit considerably more often if I have 70+ hp remaining. Once I am in the 40's, I start taking more hits, but not like I do in the 60's and 70's. I dont know if its real. Perhaps my mind is messing around with time perception. But trips definatly last longer if I keep eating to maintain a health in the mid 50's. So try some trips with and without minion on a few different days, and see if it holds true.

The effects of right-click reporting
These seems to be being 'trial tested' on german worlds only. I think Jagex is probably trying to figure out if this would work. Chances are its going to increase report volume, so doing this on the smaller dutch player base makes sense. I see all these comments about how people get muted because of mod wanna be's. Thing is, I have played for 5 years, and never had an offense on my account. I know people have reported me, partialy because I have said things I would definatly expect people to report because of misunderstandings. Maybe I have gotten a bit lucky, but 2 years of being cavalier with the chat (I dont mean I am insulting people. I joke around, and my sense of humor is a bit more...developed...than alot of players) has not landed me a scratch. Actualy far from it... My point is I have some trouble beliveing that people are muted and banned just because they got reported. I think people feel that they have been unjustly muted/banned and, intentionaly or not, change their storys to reflect this. What a 13-15 year old thinks is offensive and what an adult thinks is inapropriate are very different things. I'd expect most teenagers (myself included) to be a bit numb to vulgar language and insults. Remember that adults still dont like seeing that stuff comming from young peoples mouths so its best to watch it. Jagex is not going to punish people for being reported, and will infact take actoin against people who seemingly report falsely on purpose. If people get muted, there was a reason. Now it might not always be a good reason true, but there is a reason non the less. I feel that this might make to much work for staff, and that the cost of additional personel could be detrimental to the company. I suppose that is for Jagex to decide, they know their finances and can obviously run a buissness. If they impliment this system on the english servers then I guess they can handel it. I should hope this will not cause a rise in questionable punishments. I do wory about constantly seeing the abuse report option. That could definatly negitively impact the atmosphere of the game. It should not be a main focus, and as such, should not be in our faces constantly. I think this could be helpful in reporting, but I dont think we all need to be staring at the report option all the time. Thats just not healthy.

enough of zannik
Personaly I'd rather them update their ancient forum system or something. I actualy stopped noticing the banner, and thats a bad sign. It means I have forgoten the normal theme. It can't take very long to change. Maybe its like teh poll they apparently forgot to change for almost an entire month. That poll thing was awful, who runs the same poll for 3.5 weeks? Which reminds me that the fugly bandos theme has been there longer than that poll was. Ugh :wall:
