  1. Related thought... Could this be what is also affecting the 'PM Inbox Flags' and making them disappear? :-s ~D. V. "Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Incredible Bugs, Bugs, Bugs, Bugs..." Devnull (Note: That thought-in-my-name is intended humorously.)
  2. 11,351 Now if only we could get N_odie to join the count... Their location info and yours go very well together, Cowman_133... A running joke, perhaps? ~D. V. "Hmm... interesting combos..." Devnull
  3. 11,353 You know, this reminds me of that little train, saying "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can, I think I can..." and trying to chug its' way up the side of the mountain. -.- ~D. V. "Must... keep... moving..." Devnull
  4. Please review the thread again... I did not post to this thread on the 26th of October. My only posts here have been today and on the 24th. :? ~D. V. "What the?" Devnull Hence the reason I said IM NOT TALKING ABOUT YOU! Do I need to point this out blatantly to you? Postby BloodArgon on Thu Oct 23, 2008 4:42 pm - Games back up Postby D_V_Devnull on Fri Oct 24, 2008 12:19 pm - Your silly post Postby tard53 on Sun Oct 26, 2008 12:43 pm - The idiot Im referring to, bumping a thread about a specific event that happened and ended on the 23RD. I think your the one who needs to "review the thread again" Bah, didn't notice that because I was slightly dizzy at the time, now that I remember it. <*bangs head on wall*> :wall: ~D. V. "Maybe I do need to look one extra time, if I don't want a bad day..." Devnull
  5. 11,355 At risk of sounding clichéd....... Come on, Step it up! ~D. V. Devnull
  6. I've been using Flashblock along with ABP and NoScript for awhile, and I haven't had a problem. By dumping flashblock, you're dumping a layer of security...It's like saying you don't need a sock because you have a pair of sneakers, and it would just be redundant...It may not seem useful, but that sock does a lot that you don't even consider. Don't dump anything. Find the problem, and fix it. I don't just stop developing a program when the compiler tells me I have an error. I go through, find the error, and fix it, and continue on. Sometimes its a quick find, sometimes it takes me a few hours, but eventually I find it, and everything is good again. And you apparently didn't notice that FlashBlock was the problem, causing Ziggyzoozoo extreme trouble with RuneScape... Worse, it happened to be to such point that they were unable to use a most basic tool (their keyboard, and therefore their normal text chat) with the game applet in fullscreen mode. On top of that, it was a situation set up for failure, because some OpenGL-enabled setups develop problems with any weird layouts that a user wishes to use. (I have actually been forced to shut down whole secondary monitors to play some full screen games here at home, simply because the OpenGL subsystem that FireFox calls ~ or something that another app calls to go fullscreen ~ will not handle the secondary monitor for those items! So do not act like I'm talking [bleep] and being an idiot, because I'm not!) ~Mr. D. V. "I've actually seen weird things result from OpenGL (and Direct3D) with a setup that isn't compatible." Devnull
  7. Please review the thread again... I did not post to this thread on the 26th of October. My only posts here have been today and on the 24th. :? ~D. V. "What the?" Devnull
  8. Could you tell us where you got "Camtasia Studio 5", please? There is more than one branch of Camtasia. :geek: ~D. V. "Which code branch?" Devnull
  9. This issue goes a bit deeper than you all think. I'm going to request a thread move to "Forum Updates & Suggestions" so that all of you can get the "low down" on what's going on. :geek: BTW, I'm on FireFox 2.0.0.x-series, and seeing this while posting. Also, I am experiencing a problem (which hasn't been fixed yet) with the PM Inbox Tag Colors, so there is more than just this 1 problem to fix. :wall: ~Mr. D. V. "More to this mess than meets the eye." Devnull
  10. Ziggyzoozoo, I recommend that you dump FlashBlock forever and go get AdBlock Plus (a.k.a. "ABP") for all of your object-blocking wants and needs. Literally, ABP has all the features you need and more, and you will not have the problems that you are having with FlashBlock now. Also, ABP works better in FF3 than it does in FF2 and earlier... (BTW, I'm using AdBlock Plus with FF 2.0.0.x-series here. If you need a powerful Advert ~ and other objects ~ Blocking list to start with, mine is continuously in development and evolving well. You could use it as an awesome starting point. Ask me for a copy of my list, if you want it.) ~D. V. "Thanks for showing me that FlashBlock stinks." Devnull
  11. Have you tried closing the client and restarting it? Also, redeyed6, have you tried holding "s" on your keyboard while loading/starting RuneScape? It will force it into safe mode, and allow you to get back up and running. One other thing... Are you running on Linux, or Windows? :-s And BTW, PLEASE use hide tags when your image is too wide, so that you don't force people to scroll to read!!! ~Mr. D. V. "This might be easy to undo..." Devnull
  12. 11,358 HEY!!! Let's keep the rampage up!!! ~Mr. "Rock on!" Devnull
  13. You're welcome. Although, TBH, we didn't really help that much, just looking back at everything that has happened. Why? In the end, it was an external issue, and not something in the PC itself. :anxious: ~D. V. "I'm probably being modest to a fault there." Devnull
  14. I can imagine that... *Two plays go into PVP* *The archer guy shoots a arrow backwards* Other Player: HAHA NOOB!!!111!!shift+one!!1 *Meanwhile on the other side of the world, it kills like 10 people merchanting in the Grand Exchange* *Finally goes all the way across the world and hits the guy, instantly killing him* Archer Guy: Ha Ha Noob. *Archer Guy goes on to collect the Other Guy's expensive armor* I think I will just sit back and do this... <*DVD falls over and rolls on the floor, laughing his [bleep] crazy [bleep] looney young [bleep] off...*> That's just too [bleep] funny!!! :P :XD: :twss: ~Mr. "I can't help but laugh like a total lunatic about that." Devnull
  15. Looks more like 1 hour, 15 minutes, given the times of their posts. :-k ~D. V. "Wasn't there a bit more time there?" Devnull [/hide] I win. Thanks. And, WHY on earth would you post on a 3 day old thread about a game downtime that happened THAT day? Since you already posted today I figured Id post now and defend myself. First off, neither of us win. It took 48 minutes (smack between that other number and mine) for 'Mod Steve' to put their post up on the RSOF after this thread had been started. And BTW, if you look at my initial post to the thread, it came only the day after the problem happened. :P ~D. V. "Thanks for letting me PWN you somewhat." Devnull
  16. Guess I'll do that tomorrow. As far as I can tell, the IT Desk is located near my first class and its closed on Sunday, so hopefully they'll be able to tell what's up... *thinks for a moment* Suppose I should take my laptop to dinner with me and connect to the near-campus-wide wireless network. That would determine whether its the connection to my dorm's connection or my connection with the school. Like I mentioned before, the computer's in the school's computer labs gave me no issues at all connecting to the sites. (EDIT: well then... I can get onto the sites just fine from any other network on campus. It seems to just hate mine...) Not to annoy, but might I suggest getting a different personal router for your dorm room, then? Or maybe turn off the dhcp/dns in your current one, and rig it in a bypass mode as to directly connect you to the campus dhcp/dns systems? :geek: ~D. V. "Hopefully, that would work?" Devnull
  17. Cruiser, your negativity is unwarranted. Yes, I read your post, but a few things continued to confuse me. Therefore, I happened to be simply asking questions, trying to LEARN about this particular problem... And NOT trying to get chewed out, contrary to what you may think... Sure, I might have dumbly assumed there was some small absolutes as to what kind of issue it was, like if it was only possible to handle it at one point in the chain. But, you could be much nicer with your response, like how Peter happened to be, especially if you're trying to teach that some of those absolutes aren't as absolute as they look. :wall: So, while I will thank you for the helpful info... You have my total non-thanks for your overly harsh behavior towards me... Especially since I've had time to evolve a little since the last time we ran into each other. (Look in T&C if you don't believe me.) Have a nice day! 8-) ~Mr. D. V. "I'm not as much an adversary as you think I am." Devnull
  18. Yeah, I think I'll call up my ISP (couldn't because it was weekend/labour weekend). Thanks, I'll post on any changes when I've called them up. Good luck to you, W0ngt0ng. I hope you can get this problem resolved through your ISP. Critical item? :| It's ventrilo. Not every problem is something drastic D_V. It still has to get into certain system hooks and such to do what it does while you're playing a full-screen (or other heavy non-full-screen) game, though. And something like that usually requires messing with system files, last I knew. :? ~D. V. "Crazy voice clients..." Devnull
  19. Slightly out-of-context, but still valid... I will most definitely agree with that. I'd hate to see "Fried Tip.It'er" on the menu also. :( ~D. V. "Death = Not allowed" Devnull
  20. Cruiser, if my memory serves me right, Tip.It is using the Java PJIRC Chat Client, right? Or was it changed since the rollback crash? :-s Also, if PJIRC is being used, wouldn't the fault be with the author of the Java PJIRC Client? Which might mean it is beyond the limits of what Peter can handle? Or is the fault really with Tip.It's own server? :? ~D. V. "Curious a bit about what's up with the IRC system..." Devnull
  21. That's part of it... There is still more info I'll need to see, which is why I asked for an HJT Log. (BTW, Caxis has posted the proper link to it, shortly before I got this message up. I'm at hope the info it can provide will tie everything together.) :geek: Possibly, unless someone sabotaged your PC, as well as the secondary one... Say, for example, with something that will kill your connection if you try to play on RuneScape. :( ....... Also, check with your ISP to see if they're having problems, and/or filtering your traffic for some stupid reason. (Such as your parents asking them to, which would be kinda mean.) :-k ~D. V. "The mystery continues..." Devnull (OT: Wow, I'm slow at posting tonight... -.- ...)
  22. In that case, could you please post your system specs? And a 'HiJackThis Log' that some of the more experienced users in T&C can look at? Also, have you scanned your PC for viruses/malware/spyware? :? In case you're curious, having all of that info to view may help. Thanks in advance. 8-) ~Mr. "Yeah, I'm trying to get an idea what's going on still." Devnull
  23. Right now, with the problems they are having, that would be an awful thing to try to attempt. Further, it might result in something getting broken. They need to fix the true problem that they are having before they can do something like that. :geek: BTW, I've seen enough problems lately with FF 2.0.0.17 (and later) that it may be worth downgrading to 2.0.0.16 once this problem is fixed. (Please, just don't yell at me over this. I'm just following an instinct that tells me, "The latest is not always the greatest.") :-k ~D. V. "That wouldn't be good right now..." Devnull
  24. darkblade986, have you tried traceroutes and such in an attempt to see what your connection path looks like? And have you tried http://www.nwtools.com in "Express Mode" to check to see if the sites are even stable? :-s Given that your playstation had the same problems, and is running on Linux (and not Win-blows) or whatever Sony put there, I can more-or-less rule out your PC at this time. I, like others, also suggest getting in touch with the College's IT Staff in an attempt to figure out this matter. For all we know, they're using MAC Address Lists to control who can access what resources and services, and that is what is breaking everything. :geek: And BTW, I looked at your HJT log... It is clean as a whistle, from what I can see. :-w (That whistle emote I am using is intended in a good way...) ~D. V. "Time to check the routers you're connecting through." Devnull
  25. 11,375 Except for one thing, which you should have noted. I was a bit lagged due to IRL issues in posting, plus people posted during the time I was writing my post, which led to my being thrown off by about 2 spots. Therefore, seeing as my issue wasn't my fault, it was automatically excusable. Further, you should notice I have excused other people's errors in the past, when I determined it was a pure accident or that someone else threw them off. :geek: ... (Otherwise, you'd have seen much more massive gankings going on. :ugeek: ...) ~D. V. "There are excusable events, so don't worry, for I will see them." Devnull
