Runefest - Insider Session Breaking Bots
Llavada replied to RoswellCrash's topic in General Discussion
Why are you slagging off TruthScape? That was an awesome site (and indeed it still exists under the name RuneScoop). It told the truth about the game, although many people didn't like that. And Qeltar didn't sell his soul for Gold or Platinum status from Jagex - unlike certain sites. -
Refer a Friend Programme - 18 Aug 2011
Llavada replied to PoorLepRecon's topic in General Discussion
Only the beginning. Jagex has been releasing and getting away with tons of, "That's minor in my book update." over the last few weeks and months. Each time, pushing their luck a little more and sinking a little lower. Each time not taking the interests and cares of their loyal members into consideration... What few of them are still human. Facebook. Loyalty programme. Katana. Temp bans (for members). Refer-a-friend. On and on and on. Again, only the beginning. Listen to Wicked, he speaks the truth btw Read what Mark Gerhard had to say at some conference in Edinburgh recently (the article is dated 12 August 2011) http://www.develop-online.net/news/38441/Jagex-Listen-to-the-trolls-but-go-with-your-gut -
....... Essentially, I just found it strange that you were assuming that there would be no actual longterm content this month as there hasn't been a new area mentioned in the BTS (besides Darkmeyer) and complaining about a lack of recent content when you haven't even tried it out yet. :P It's called "The triumph of experience over hope"

Down E5 (6 letters) - I hear a musical piece that has a ball CANNON Sounds like "canon" which is a musical piece -
Our of curiosity, has anyone come across a translation of the fleeting Latin in the background? If someone can copy the text, I'd translate, but I can't be asked to stop the video at every other frame to do so =p. It's ripped from the Bayeaux Tapestry, either partial bits or superimposed PORTANT ARMAS AD NAVES TRAhUNT CVM VINO VBI hAROLD SACRAMENTVM VVILLELMO I think the writing under the portal is missing the last 2 letters and should read: FECIT hIC hAROLD

Jagex is so used to using only 1 finger towards players that they forgot the others exist. Best tip.it post EVER

What the game needs is a new Bothunting skill, which would use the techniques outlined in this thread, with perhaps some extra official bothunting tools We would be happy as we would get our levels up whilst having some fun, either individually or in groups Jagex would be happy as the players would be doing their work, and if any were banned then the bots would either buy back their accounts or start new accounts paying their monthly fee earlier than they would have done on their banned account And the bots would know that they can bot forever as the game would need bots, so they would be happy Sounds like a win-win-win situation to me I'm just wondering what the icon for the Bothunting skill would be

But you'll only be able to get the ingame weapon if you use the redemption code from the DVD you've just bought

Will we be able to get pretzelz from stall and throw them to each other like frisbees? And can we keep them afterwards? If no, not interested -

Troll - traditionally creatures from Scandinavian folklore but now used to refer to people who flame others on the internet

I'm sure you're right - i find Hunter rocks the most difficult to get, but other people say they find them really easy Also i have a theory, based on my own experience, that if you have recently logged in then you are more likely to get a rock Possible Jagex reasoning if this is so: Casual players are more likely to have recently logged in and they are more easily discouraged, so if they don't easily get a rock they think "This game's too hard - it sucks so i won't play it" whilst hardcore players will have been logged in for a longer time and if they get a rock quickly they will think "This game's too easy and is for noobs nowadays - it sucks and i'm gonna quit"

Jagex CEO Mark Gerhard calls Free Realms 'insipid'
Llavada replied to Den's topic in General Discussion
Well then ... It's nice to meet you (In other words I haven't tried and I never will) Exactly the same goes for me... and i'm sure a lot of other players as well -
As it stands, I wouldn't attend if they held it within walking distance (not that they would - I live in the boonies). As people keep going back to the "insignificant item" fallacy (staff members again, I note) - I must point out - it's the principal of in-game rewards for real world cash that is offensive. Yes indeed... i live a short plane journey away and have plenty of time and money to attend the event, but i have no intention of going and would feel embarrassed to prance around in the game with the banner if i did have one What i - and many other people - object to is that Jagex has made it so that real life money buys an ingame item
-
I have the perfect solution: People who go to Runefest can get the banner using the redeem code, prance around in the game with it and take screenshots showing the date, gaining all the ingame admiration or whatever it is they seek Then a month later the banner can be obtained by everyone from Diango or found in their toy box

It's clear that Dungeoneering isn't what most people in this game would recognise as a skill, but it's obviously far far more than another mini-game In fact it's more like an expansion pack where players put their existing knowledge, experience and abilities to the test Jagex should have introduced this as "THE SUPERSKILL" with the tagline "ARE YOU READY FOR THE ULTIMATE RUNESCAPE CHALLENGE?" (They shouldn't have used that pathetic ring as the skill icon but rather the RuneScape sword from from the front page) And they should left have Dungeoneering off the normal Hiscores, rather sticking it at the top of the list in its own category in big huge letters, so that high levels in it brought uber-high game status If Dungeoneering had been released in this matter then i feel that players would have responded much more positively

Uranium? The way Tip.It is going, more likely Uranus

Your siggy: "Rich Day Merchanting Clan - The Next Greatest Thing" If you or your merchanting clan was was even slightly good, you wouldn't have to post on fansite forums to get ideas Or are you merely too lazy to look at a few G.E. graphs? Either way Diztrict (Runescape name "Rich Day")........... SAD And clearly NOT "The Next Greatest Thing"
-
How about an entrepreneurial skill? I would have said Business, but apparently it doesn't start with B, so maybe Merchanting or something like that Each player would have their own instanced POB (Player Owned Business) consisting of Business Units (rather like we have rooms in our POH), and the higher level we are the more of these units we can have Each Business Unit would be outfitted at our expense with some equipment and we would pay a worker to "harvest" the produce (rather like Miscellania) But we would need the level in that skill for each unit - if the worker was cutting yews we would need the Woodcutting level, if they were killing abby demons we would need the Slayer level, and so on for all the skills And we would gain the XP not from our own actions but from those of our workers And we could sell the produce, hopefully making a profit after we've bought the original equipment and paid the workers This could lead to endless forums discussions on strategy... Do we lose a lot of money at first to get more Business Units to make money later, or go for the steady moneystream approach? Are yews more profitable and/or better XP than abby demons? And note that Jagex has recently been promoting clans... Could this be because they see players grouping together to form a version of the old Runescape "companies" about which people so fondly reminisce?

Could someone kindly explain what this comment is supposed to mean

I doubt that players have "adopted" mint cakes as a form of emergent gameplay, rather that a group of uber-rich "merchants" have been buying them up for a long time and recently set about their scam... They offered to sell phats or some similar item as cash-with-mints, a few people got some mints and got their phats, word got out and suddenly mints were very valuable... the original "merchants" then used their huge pile of mints to buy back their phats plus loads and loads more... and laughed all the way to the bank From the posts i've seen about mint cakes, players are getting them and then immediately using them for deals - in other words, they are regarded as "hot potatoes" that no-one wants to keep... so listen to qeltar's words of wisdom
