  1. Over here, when a bunch of friends meet for a drink, it's customary for everyone to stand in a circle, clap their hands together then tickle each other's armpits. If someone doesn't wish to partake in that, it's considered rude and they will most likely be spit on.
  2. Now that I think about it, I sleep in all sorts of positions. I start face down, then turn on one side, then the other, and then when the sleep is sweeter, in the early mornings (and I usually have to wake), I'm face up. Watching people sleep is fun btw.
  3. Yes,I sometimes dream about Bruce [bleep]inson...Him only, because I can't remember any of his other bandmate's names...I may be thinking of the cowbell Bruce [bleep]inson, though. Uhm, after scratching my head and the use of google I discovered you're talking about SNL. :?
  4. In before Nightwish. Uhm, Nightwish, actually. Is the only one I can think of.

  6. Not a favorite as in "Man, I can't stop watching this movie, I see it every three weeks", but more as in "The Bergman movie that really changes your views and keeps you bussy". In Winterlight Bergman and Nykvist manage to create the perfect atmosphere for the content of the movie. It's also an interesting movie because in this movie he finally starts 'experimenting'. You can say a lot of things about Bergman films, but in terms of style he's never been much of an innovator. With this movie he really breaks with this. He continues this line in two other Bergman favorites of mine, Tystnaden and Persona. So for me his period in the sixties is the most interesting. But I really appreciate his 'lighter' period from the fifties a lot as well; Smiles of a Summer Night, Summer with Monika and of course the naughty Djävulens öga. Ah, I see. In that case, I agree with you. I remember the atmosphere in that movie perfectly, same as I remember the atmosphere in 'Seventh Seal' (which is my favourite movie of his). I didn't see any movies from what you call his lighter period except 'Smiles of a Summer Night' (which was okay, but imo, nothing to write home about...), maybe I should see some more and then judge.
  7. Random fact: I saw Maiden live on the 4th (for the first time) and I still dream about it at night....
  8. Some of you are pretty cool, but I generally don't look at the person who posts but the post itself and I rarely admire anyone so much that I consider all his / her posts to be awesome. However, I can't help noticing How2PK whose enthusiasm for good movies is pretty endearing, Sumpta who just seems mature and charming, Range_This, because I generally see him posting exactly what I'd have wanted to post ;p , also Azvareth who has a wonderful gift for sarcasm and btw I gotta say his current avie suits his posts very well : D (but I've known him since before I joined tif, so it shouldn't count), I_Goddess who seems a very fun and intelligent person (too bad she left), warren (can't remember exactly his nick but he has that Bill Hicks quote in his sig), whose posts are also thoughtful and good. There are also a few others I can't remember atm. I have to be fair and say that some people manage to annoy me more than they should and I shouldn't probably say who they are ;P
  9. Hm, Winterlight is your favourite Bergman movie? Interesting. It's not that I question your tastes, far from it, since it's a beautifully made movie, but I'd never call it a favourite because it left me depressed for a few days after. I mean, GOD, PLEASE HAVE MERCY! And by God I mean Bergman : P
  10. Of course no one will really tell about the really weird things they do while alone : P
  11. Iron Maiden. Better songs, better vocals, more charismatic front man, better lyrics, etc, etc.
  12. The X Files 2: I want to believe. Exactly as I expected before watching it - It was a good and interesting movie. For fans. It wasn't an exceptional story, it wasn't particularly suspenseful or 'paranormal' even. It did paint a believable picture of how the main characters are, 5 years from their running off from the FBI. I watched it as more of a character study than be curious about how the story evolves, since it was more interesting to see Mulder and Scully react to the events and to each other than how the story would play out (which was in the end, quite predictable). There were the issues of faith, morality, borderline medical experiments, which have always been present in the X Files. And of course the very complex relationship between Mulder and Scully. There were some in-jokes for faithful fans. Of course, a movie based on the 'myth-arc' (like the first X Files movie) would have been better. (I also think mythology episodes are generally better than stand-alones). But anyway I'm glad this movie was finally made, since the series ended a bit annoyingly for me. Actually, after the first movie and the move to LA (season 6 onwards) things started going progressively downhill for this show (admittedly with outstanding exceptions such as 'Field Trip', 'The Unnatural','The Goldberg Variation', and a few others) and it all culminated with seasons 8 and 9 (which was thankfully the last), which were almost entirely without Mulder and featured other agents in charge of the x files investigating more or less boring cases (I don't know, I never watched them). Oh and the very last episodes, named very bombastically The Truth I and The Truth II were sort of a let down in terms of story telling. Basically they just wanted everything over and done with all of a sudden, all the characters accounted for and no loose ends left untied and they hurried to a more or less inspired ending. The very end however - the end scene, got me. It was touching. Not to get sidetracked, though, talking about the show. Back to the movie - which was a decent follow-up. Not amazing but not bash-worthy either. Don't watch it unless you're a fan and unless you know and love the main characters, or you will find yourself bashing it because you just didn't get what the big deal was. :P Oh yeah and if you do watch it, stay until the credits end, or you'll miss a cute little scene.
  13. 1. The X Files 2. Seinfeld 3. House M.D. 4. Blackadder 5. A bit of Fry and Laurie (heh, Monk was pretty fun too). I'm sure there's a few others I can't remember now, but these are my favourites atm.
  14. NO!!! never call anime a cartoon that's just insulting. a cartoon is made for a younger audience while anime is made for a more mature one. Well...I guess that's debatable : P
  15. Warner Bros keeps changing the directors too damn much. Some of them have an artistic style that should have nothing to do with Harry Potter, and they ruin it. I don't know why some of the directors were hired, WB must have horrible taste sometimes... Not a hardcore Harry Potter/fantasy fan  But since I got the books as presents over years from younger cousins.. I read them for fun. It's not childish at all, it's a very sophisticated fantasy series. EVERY Harry Potter film is [cabbage] except for the Prisoner of Azkaban This is like saying I spoiled the Bible by saying Jesus dies on the cross man Actually, he comes back to life in the next chapter. Guess you stopped reading halfway through. But let's not derail this topic, this topic is about saying how much you hate Harry Potter while the rest of us tend to foolishly go off topic in discussing the trailer.
  16. The part with Dumbledore in the fire --> flashback to Gandalf's fight with the Balrog. Anyway. Pretty cool.
  17. Some of the stuff here is scary.... I hate that 'falling off the sidewalk' thing, and it really feels like you landed from 100 m above. Apparently it happens when you're very tired. Once I had a dream where I was crying, and when I woke up, I was indeed crying. That was kind of odd. But the OP's experience is way way more odd.
  18. Mkay but how come this sort of stuff freaks you out? :P It's funny, at best. ;d Besides, some of these are a fake (like the word 'sex' in Lion King was actually 'sfx' - referring to special effects). And anyway subliminal messages haven't been found to have any real effect. Anyway, on topic: whenever I feel spooked, I try to talk to as many people as possible about totally unrelated issues.
  19. Could be depression. I'd think about seeing a doctor if it were me.
  20. Buy myself a trip to Lapland.
  21. Good idea for a thread. Lately I haven't listened to a lot of music, because I've been wanting to hear new stuff; hit me with pretty much anything, that's even remotely similar to the stuff I listen to. http://www.last.fm/user/blushenka
  22. If you mean an actual movie, not a series or a...something else, then probably Return of the King, extended edition is 252 minutes.
  23. I cried. The only other ones I can think of right now are La Vita e Bella. Definitely one of the most heart-wrenching movies ever.
  24. I actually really really like it.. Oh my god. May I ask why?
