  1. I can see the shops section, but it doesn't have any stock values. Only hyperlinks to the individual shops. Where exactly in the guide is this incorrect information? As in, which section?
  2. Hiya guys! Sorry I've not been on here to update my blog. Whenever I come on Tip.It these days, naturally after having done all my college work (-.-), I come on here to either do my Crew duties, or chill out and let off some steam. I'm gonna start making a habit of coming on here once a day though. Anyways, I've redone the front page to make things much more trackable, and a lot less work for me. :D ~95 Fletching!~
  3. You make that sound like my attitude is wrong. That's actually near enough exactly what I'm saying. You should always walk a mile in someone else's shoes before judging them. As -devoted- mentioned before, I'd have thought this week's Tip.It Times would have opened people's eyes to that key skill. I know what your point is, but its pretty double standard, seeing as its yourself, and other mods who decide who gets in. And don't tell me that you'll allow every username in this forum to "try to be a mod for 1 day"-. because thats what you're suggesting we try, before we decide to post negative feedback. But by all means give everyone mod access for 24 hours and we'll see who's right. Myself and other mods have no power in deciding who becomes a moderator or not. That's a decision for the admins. My role is on the Tip.It main site - I've nothing to do with the forums except having the same purpose as you have; being a normal poster. I point you towards the Staff List, which explains all our roles. Explain to me the point about double standards too. For me to be committing myself to double standards, I'd have to judging the mods without prior experience. I don't have that experience, so I don't judge them, and I never have judged them. That just wouldn't be appropriate at all - I don't see them judging my work on the main site, so why should I judge theirs? I'm a bit confused about that point really. It was also a rhetorical question. I was just curious to know how many forum users criticising the mods would actually be prepared to work the many hours they put into the forums every week, cleaning it up, themselves. If you wish to continue this, I'm more than happy to through the PM system. Otherwise, this is leading the topic astray from its main point, so I'll stop posting here.
  4. Alonso was leaving McLaren ages ago. That's why he's been such a thorn in their side for the past two months. Yeah, just read that on BBC news - good for Hamilton. Him and his dad have accepted defeat with the upmost grace. It's the Hamilton-centric British media coverage I just can't stand. -.-
  5. @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ ^ Impersonation of RSW44 Spam impersonating you. Mime level 99! : Anyways I saw you about clan chat, so I thought I'd check your blog out. Good luck!
  6. Yes... this is where a solicitor would say, "Quit while you're ahead", considering Hamilton wasn't punished for having two sets of tyres during Friday's practise session. Also, every motor expert going's said that it wouldn't have made the slightest bit of difference, considering how far behind Hamilton was.
  7. My sentiments exactly. Although I voted for city database since I'm really interested in that whole concept.
  8. It's unwise to think of things like this. I agrere with you to a certain extent - our judgement in life is based on a simple argument; consequentialism or deontology. Depending on who we are and our experiences in life, we will tend to lean more to one side, but we don't completely become distant to the other side. Let's take another example. I as a doctor have an old granny, who suffers from a disabilitating, embarrasing terminal illness. She feels she's become so fed up and depressed over the illness, she simply wants to end her life. Coincidently, she's also signed a will to me for the years of healthcare I've provided her. My personal judgement would be to euthanise the patient, but I can't make that judgement easily. After all, isn't it immoral for me; A) To kill; and B) To take her money by killing her? I am personally more of a consequentialist than a deontologist, however, it's clear from my judgement there that I do think deontologistically at times. What you're doing, however, is taking a completely one-sided stance on things. From a deontologist's point of view, yes, that truck driver has commited exactly the same offence as the other truck driver, but surely there's a difference involved when a person actually dies as a consequence to their actions? The consequences of the actions of the truck driver who ran over the child are far greater than the other truck driver's actions, so isn't it only fair that (s)he receives a greater punishment, in recognition of that fact? That's for you to decide, but looking at issues like this from a completely one-sided way usually leads to a poor judgement.
  9. The traffic on that board simply doesn't necessitate a sticky. It would be excessive organisation. Creating a sticky like that would just kill off those topics, which are needed to keep that board alive.
  10. You make that sound like my attitude is wrong. That's actually near enough exactly what I'm saying. You should always walk a mile in someone else's shoes before judging them. 11. Nice work. :) The 99 Thieving cape wouldn't actually be in the shop though... would it? I was always under the impression you had to purchase the master capes through a dialog with their respective masters?
  12. I wonder how many of the people sat here, being critical of the moderating team on Tip.It actually applied for the Mod Trainee posts? :-w In other words, how many of you are actually willing to try being a mod for a day or two, and then you can be in a position where you can truly make a judgement on their work?
  13. Clearly, you weren't banned if you're still posting... :|
  14. Rawwwr! (I dunno why...) I race ya for 1,600 (You'll win, no problems :)! Congrats on the progress you've made thus far. You're seriously racing through this game. I think you've made as much progress in just under a year as I've made in a whole two!
  15. Is that meant to be "today"? Or am I just really really tired? And appy pwnts you BTW nub. Not that I'm a coward for picking sides or anything. :-$
  16. Grrr! Damn teh st00pid boring stringing update! I'm thinking of going for 99 fletch though. I'll bump my blog when it's updated :
  17. College is still just as hectic as ever, but I'm gonna start coming on RS. I need some form of escapism and going on MSN just don't do that well enough. -.- So you bump my blog, I bump yours. Yey! :D Sowwy I missed your birthday :(
  18. I never said it did had anything to do with war. I said it was related to politics. So Bush being a "corporate tool" explains his stance on abortion, euthanisia and the like then? Trust me, mixing religion with politics is a terrible move in UK politics, let alone actually admitting you've done it, not after the history of Civil Wars in our country, and the fact we have a multicultural soceity. I'm not saying that was his only motivation, like he was some theocrat, but there's no way Blair would have said that had he not meant it. Again, where did I say it did have anything to do with it? However, you were arguing that Christianity was less involved in politics than Islam. I'm giving an example (Ireland) to show that that statement simply isn't true. That was your conclusive killer point to that post then? That my opinion must be wrong because my thoughts are (in your opinion) "all over the place". Medellin, maybe it isn't my place to say this as a part of the staff here and it's Off-Topic, and I emphasise my views aren't representative of Tip.It or its staff. Your behaviour in debates from what I've seen hasn't exactly impressed me. If someone doesn't agree with your point, instead of actually challenging their argument, you just try and make out as though they're stupid and and thus cannnot possibly participate in a discussion with your superior intellect. Now, I'm gonna say that attitude is wrong and frankly, it's starting to annoy me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion without the threat of being intimidated or ridiculed for it. Now as I said, this is going Off-Topic so I'm leaving this discussion here.
  19. Raikonen actually won more races than Hamilton. The McLaren team have been up to so much dodgy stuff over the year, maybe it's a sense of justice neither of their drivers actually won the race. I'm postive there was a previous F1 thread though...
  20. Really? Can't say I've ever had that feeling myself... maybe I see more in girls than whether they're 'hot' or not. Also, a little bit of quick maths leads me to doubt one of those stats. $6.3M a year? That works out at about an average of ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã24,000 per head per annum. ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã24,000 to do what is essentially basic administrative work for a company still in its embryonic stages of devlopment? If that's true, that's pretty good pay, considering my dad as a coordinator, and my mate's mum as a manager, earns considerably less than that. Also, the amount of money we pay for the game is a really weak excuse, and I'd actually feel no fear in telling the Gowers that. I'd happily pay upto about ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã7.50 ($15) for the privalges of membership. They could also squeeze F2P, making it a 30-day trial period, at which point you either have to make a new account, or upgrade. To refer to the macro point, that would deal a little bit of damage to the F2P macro problem. The issue there is that we're paying for a service. If I bought an MP3 player for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20, and it broke within a weak, it'd be hard for the store I bought it off to use the excuse, "Well, it was only ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã20. What did you expect?". Apart from that though, a really good article, and I agree with your point. This time last year I was very critical about the way Jagex were handling the game and the adminstrative work behind the scenes. It would take literally two weeks for a CS query to have a reply sent back. I was actually given 10 blackmarks for an offence which had absolutely no evidence behind, only speculation. Nowadays though, with the recent clan chat and PC update, and the significant improvement of CS, I'm pretty much happy with the way Jagex are now handling things. You should always walk a mile in someone else's shoes before judging them. Now I've watched the development of RS for about two years now, I can see Jagex are handling things well, or at least much better than they were when I first joined up. Well done!
  21. The thing you need to understand is that Christianity plays a lot less in politics than Islam does in the Middle East. Christianity is just a tool used by politicians to get them voted in. After that, it's all about the corporations. The reason the US is in the Middle East is for the resources, not to spread Christianity, not because God said so, but because of the oil. Openly as well, it's no secret to us. In the Middle East, Islam is used extensively to get people to join terrorist groups, to get suicide bombers, because no one - no one - insults Muhammad and gets away with it. No infidel can attack the Arabic land and gets away with it. And all that propaganda jazz that (enough) Muslims eat up. I hate religion altogether (I was born a Christian but denounced that because I don't believe in Jesus), but if you're going to defend Islam, don't hide it behind Christianity because it's just not the same. Who's hiding behind Christianity? As far as I'm concerned, extremism in Islam and extremism in Christianity are cut from the same cloth. The highlighted part I have issues with. Am I seriously to believe that a state would encourage the growth of terrorist groups inside their own country? Surely, Arhmadinejad would rather they join his own army instead of an independant terrorist group which could later on prove to have a free-radical effect? Also, Christianity still does have a part in politics. Would Kate and Gerry McCann seriously have gotten the media attention they craved if they weren't Christians, and if they hadn't organised that trip to see the Pope? Tony Blair himself admitted his belief in God had an influence in his decision to invade Iraq. Bush has got to be one of the most religiously-driven politicians I've ever seen, if I'm completely honest. The Vatican believes they can stop people becoming anything to do with the organisation of the Catholic Church on the grounds they're gay, and that the law can't change that. Religion of any sort is heavily involved in politics. Now, I'm not saying Islam is any less involved in politics, but especially considering the past two hundred years of religious extremism in Ireland, you'd be a fool to say Christianity is any better than Islam in the currect situation.
  22. *Bumps from Page 2* I just realised how much I [heart] Tip.It after being in Lightning chat for about two hours. Grats on 96 Fishing!
  23. Haha! You must be on a mission to destroy dail-up or something! 8-) GL!
  24. Moving back on-topic... What does it matter? By hiding behind Christianity, does that make Islam less violent? It matters because if we take this into a religious debate, then there's double standards that clearly exist. It's OK for the Western 'civilised' predominantly Christian world to have nukes and to declare war in the name of democracy, but if an Islamic nation starts to even show signs of doing either of those two, they must be quelled due to the messages and actions of a few extremists who claim to be belonging to that religion. Both Islam and Christianity advocate violence in certain situations. It'd be foolish to say either of them is less or more violent than the other quite frankly. That's just too much of a generalisation and doesn't take into account the various branches of each religion.
