  1. Well, that's a contradiction in itself. You've said you'd actively deny a homosexual couple the right to have sexual intercourse, which runs counter to you 'fully accept[ing] homosexuals'. In short, you doing that isn't accepting homosexuality, so according to the way I look at this, you are being closed-minded, even if you don't realise it.
  2. Homework: It's designed to reinforce your knowledge of the subject area. It's for your own good and you've really no grounds to complain except for the fact you're lazy. School Separation: There's a clear difference between under 11s and 11+ students. Put simply, they're maturing into adults, and they need to be put into a new environment that facilitates and reflects that change. Peer forcing into education: Completely wrong after the age of 16. At that point, you really are an adult in your own right and it shouldn't be up to the parents at that point to decide what's best for you. University Parties: I don't personally party, but then again I've never really liked that kinda scene. People acting like drunken [bLEEP]s, arguments, high emotions getting the better of people... not for me. However, I understand there is a need for a social life at the place where your studying outside of your studies. For someone people, this is to throw parties and drink lots. So long as they don't neglect their studies and don't do it excessively, no harm in it.
  3. Um... yeah... great opinion. =D> The fact is there is no evidence to suggest we have a life after death, but at the same time, there's nothing to suggest otherwise. It does come down to faith and perhaps one of the hardest things about dealing with death is the worry about what happens next. I personally don't believe in anything that doesn't have logic or evidence behind it. So no, I don't believe in souls, but I'm open-minded enough to admit I don't know any better.
  4. Because the majority of people find it difficult to accept anything that fits outside their line of thinking. Hence why I'm appreciative of the fact I have an education, as it prevents from falling into that bracket of closed-minded idiots. Why do people feel the need to quote religion into this discussion. At the end of the day, this is an issue about two people falling in love with each other, it just so happens they happen to be of the same gender. Is anyone seriously implying here that the people who wrote the Bible had any more of an idea of what "love" actually means than we do today? Added to that the fact the Bible was written thousands of years ago, and thus it's not completely relevant to our modern-day situation, and I actually come to the conclusion it's futilre to try and consider religious beliefs on this issue. I personally have no problems whatsoever. Love isn't merely a device designed by human emotion to encourage reproduction of the species, unless of course, you want to say that when animals mate, they're in love with each other? Love can mean many things to many people, but at the end of the day, it's mutual understanding between two people that are seeking another person that understands them and their emotions. We all look for someone who has a deeper understanding of who we are. If someone finds that people of the same gender to them happen to understand tham and their emotions more than those of the opposite gender, than I really see no harm in that. In fact, I'd be the first to congratulate them and say good for them.
  5. I think the true issue and the true stimulus for this topic is ,"How do you define 'open-mindedness'?". For me, being open-minded isn't merely sitting on the fence, as you have seemed to imply in your first post. I actually regard that attitude as naÃÆÃâÃâïve, and actually proves you don't have the strength to stick to one opinion. Open-mindedness is the ability to accept the viewpoint of another person or another group. This doesn't mean you have to agree with that viewpoint, it merely means you have to accept its existance and accept it's a fully valid opinion. For instance, as in the post above me, it's fine for you to say you feel homosexuality is wrong. I'd call you intolerant for it, but so long as you accept that it's an emotion that valid and a form of sexual relationship that exists in our world, and you could still just as easily have a discussion about something completely unrelated like sport or music with a homosexual, then I'd still regard you open-minded. Biggots who would say, "Ewww, you're gay, get away from me you freak!" are without doubt closed-minded. It's not closed-minded to take an opinion, so long as you accept other people's viewpoints and when you question them, you question the opinion and not the person's decision to adopt that opinion.
  6. Dang it I missed you! :x I'm sowwy Mc! :(
  7. Just opened the slip from coming back from holiday, and I'm over the moon! :D AS Levels: Modern History: (a) A,A,A Maths: (a) B,A,A Chemistry: (a) A,A,A Biology: (B) A,A,C So yeah, I'll be doing the Biology test again next January during my A2 year. : Still, a UMS of 269/300 in Modern History's pretty good going. Great teacher. :) And congrats Baron! Holy cow! They have a point though. If I was to take Maths at Degree level I'd be doing stuff like Imaginary Numbers... my Dad was doing that in his AS year. The fact so many As are acheived wehn only the top 5% are supposed to achieve them is kinda worrying. In fact, it actually makes our grades obsolete.
  8. I've strangely developed an affinity for Berry growing ATM... goodness knows why. :|
  9. Yeah but everyone has Dialga. Hardly anyone has Palkia... I'd get Pearl
  10. Indeed, that does seem weird. However, since this is a forum-related problem, I'll allow those who work with the forum to deal with it. Makes sense, no? Moved topic from Website U&C to Forum U&S ~Ginger Warrior
  11. Thats what I;ve been saying for years....But yea, they are more experienced with it and can take care of business. Probably because people refuse to accept that other people actually know what's best for them. They need to learn that to work with their ways isn't to be submissive... it's merely to accept the help of someone who knows best.
  12. But surely that's hypocritical in its own logic, since we'd have to be gullible enough to believe his/her way of seeing things, which would never happen because we'd already have been gullible enough to believe the ways of either science or religion in the first place. It makes no sense whatsoever, and this is why I didn't do philosophy...
  13. I very well suspect you would agree, but have you got the formula for the crossbows and the bolts? If so, please submit them, if not, then please be patient. It will come when we have time for it.
  14. Lol, you mean you didn't use a translator when you did French at school? Not that I condone cheating or anything. :-w
  15. If people are going to say something in French, an English translation should be placed below.
  16. I agree. It's like us not knowing about Katrina really. -.- Anyways, it's not anywhere near as serious as the media is making out. The disease has been contained in a 10-mile wide region, and cattle movements have been moderated to assure only safe meat is on the shelves. It's really not worth all this fuss... trust the authorites, you are safe.
  17. :| Well, bringing armour and food would be advised anyway. I'll redo the wording to make it a little less ambiguous, but I can't really credit this, since we only credit hard and new information. Thanks anyway. :) Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  18. LOL, you didn't have to work out the ratio since it does it for us. Thanks anyway  I'll have a look through Jard Y Dooku's guide to comfirm this, and if true, I'll credit you. Check this post for progress EDIT: You're right. You've been credited. Thanks. : Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  19. I think we need to reinforce that message somewhere because we must get like ten submissions a day with this mistake. As slayershunt says, all monsters that drop a type of herb seed will drop all varieties of herb seeds. Exceptions to that rule are already clearly noted. Thanks for trying though and helping in Tip.It's goal to provide the most accurate and reliable RS information out there! I'll lock this now, since there's no more room for discussion. 20. Pok̮̩̉̉mon Diamond/Pearl Animal Crossing: Wild World Mario Kart Harvest Moon Easy. Four great games!
  21. Hmm... I see this type of thing usually on a MySpace announcement. I'm amazed whoever created this payed good money for whatever server it's being run off. :|
  22. There's already a sticky for advertising websites. I really don't feel advertising merits its own board. :|
  23. I'm sorry? Was that sarcastic? :-s We ccould actually add more emoticons if we wanted to, but I really don't feel a necessity to. The emoticons we have I think display a full range of emotions. Be a bit more specific, what emotions do you feel aren't covered, since that's actually what they're there for?
  24. We've said countless times we won't be putting such information onto the database. There is a sticky, but prices have a habit in RS of changing rapidly, so we can't assure people that the information we'd provide is right, which would run completely counter to the Tip.It way of doing things. For this reason, we won't put street prices up. There's also about half a dozen of these topics in the Discussion board. Use the Search button in future to check for past topics. I'll lock this thread now. Thanks for suggesting though :) Locked ~Ginger Warrior
  25. [hide] [/hide] Great opinion... well analysed and thought out.
