Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
Well apparently, there's going to be specific worlds for the trade and wild, and they'll be only for very long term accounts with no bad track records, which would make an entirely huge amount of sense. Hopefully 2011 brings great things.

Free Trade and Old Wilderness back [21-Dec-2010]
http://www.runescape.com/wilderness [spoiler=Original Post]I don't know if this is worth a new thread, but people are in Mod MMG's clanchat right now, and apparently he's going to hold a poll about the wilderness, and whatever it's decision will be made. In addition all the ranks are saying similar things, and people are suggesting free trade and old style wilderness for long - term customers. He is no longer in the CC, but he was before, asking for suggestions and ideas on how to implement it. You can ask some of the ranks currently in there. Thoughts? Pics? etc. I imagine someone took screens of it. Well apparently, there's going to be no trade limit and wild, and they'll be only for very long term accounts with no bad track records, which would make an entirely huge amount of sense. Hopefully 2011 brings great things. [spoiler=Jagex News Post]Hi everyone,As we near the end of another big year for Jagex, I feel very proud and truly amazed at what we've achieved together since RuneScape was conceived a decade ago. Together we've been part of the growth of one of the biggest free games in the world, not to mention the best, most vibrant online community in history. The Jagex family has grown to well over 400, we've picked up a number of Guinness World Records along the way (and counting), and for the second year running we've won the Golden Joystick Awards as best UK developer. This is all thanks to you, the players. As you know, we try to keep our updates close to our chest, so that you will be pleasantly surprised; however, I can promise you that 2011 will be one of our most exciting update years ever. When considering big game-changing decisions, it's always with our players' ultimate game experience firmly in mind; your feedback helps shape our decisions and, ultimately, the fun entertainment we produce. Creating content that you enjoy and appreciate is what drives our passionate teams. We regularly listen to you on the fan sites, our forums, in game and, for the first time ever, face to face at our live player celebration: RuneFest 2010. Your voice counts hugely, because we know you are as passionate about playing RuneScape as we are about making it. It's never lost on me what an incredible privilege it is to be able to serve such a wonderful community as well as the incredible team at Jagex. I've had an astonishing time over the past two years that I've been CEO of Jagex and, during that time, have had to make some rather difficult decisions. Today, however, I'd like to ask every one of our players, past and present, for your help in making one of the biggest decisions regarding the future of RuneScape... I regularly hear from both the community and the Jagex team that we should reintroduce free trade and the excitement of the old Wilderness, warts and all. As you know, we removed free trade and the Wilderness in 2007 to combat botting, gold farming and item scamming. Since then, we have produced new content that provides comparable gameplay and mechanics to allow increased trade limits with long-term friends; however, we are still regularly being told that something is missing from the 'good old days' of RuneScape. We've been shutting down bot-makers all around the world and prosecuting people for stealing accounts, and we've evolved our systems to quickly detect cheating; however, we will have to accept that we will never completely eradicate cheating so long as there is an incentive and method to do so. Bringing back free trade and the original Wilderness will certainly make this a bigger issue than it is today, though I can pledge that we will never stop trying to combat it. So, the big question is, are the passionate voices we hear on this topic truly representative of the majority of the player community or just a rather vocal minority? Do you want to see a return of free trade and the original Wilderness? If the vast majority of our players vote in favour of it, then we will do exactly that. Please tell us what you think by visiting this page and registering your vote. As ever, we'll read your feedback and listen to your thoughts and opinions, so please do feel free to discuss and debate this on the forums. In the meantime, have a wonderful holiday season and thank you for a fantastic 2010. I look forward to celebrating ten years of RuneScape with you in January. Have fun! Take care, Mark Gerhard

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
Last night I bought 500 obby shields just to flip, looks like I made a good decision  Bought at 183k, min, yesterday, and they sold for max, 197k today. 8m profit overnight!!! Considering you can only buy 10 every 4 hours, I would love it if you could tell me how you managed this.

No, when others are fighting around you, nothing appears to YOU if they hit zero.

Scratch that, I guess nothing appears if you hit zero. Everything makes more sense now lol

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
I noticed in crowded areas, like w18 edge, if there's too many damage splats, they don't appear. I don't know if you always see yours or not, but I couldn't see a lot of the damage happening in fights around me. That hopefully will be addressed

Do we know yet if damage soak is calculated first, or after other factors, like overhead, SOL spec, divine, etc?- My oponion of what is to be done for Balance to be restored.
Interesting suggestions, change is far too radical however, and more than likely will never happen, ever.- 3rd Age/Spirit shields/Phats Discussion
I don't have the cash pile to confirm it, but a couple of my max level friends (as if their total level someone validates what they say [whatever]) say that Divine is buyable at max after some hours / day or so. Like x posts back when I mentioned Ely buyable at max, someone got it after some days, so might be worth a shot.- The Rollback Cover-up
That's a beautiful looking red herring there. Never saw one with red and gold stripes before. I think I'll keep my hands clean, and say that I did approach this in an unbiased light. I don't see how you've demonstrated that I haven't. Yes, you'll keep your hands clean simply because you're afraid to get them dirty and find out something you don't want to hear or acknowledge. Heaven forbid a company as perfect as Jagex make a mistake in the way they handle things. The world might come to an end if something like that happened! Or maybe it's just the blatant favoritism they showcase to those who kiss the right amount of ass to get into the company's good light. I have a list of over twenty individuals, all with direct E-mail correspondence with various Jmods, some of which are the top bug abusers, which Jagex openly negotiates with, and does favors for, like unbanning accounts of their choosing. Not what I would call too professional for a company. Maybe when Jagex as an entity can begin to come clean with some of their tactics and methods is the moment they start winning people over again. Until then, the ranks and PMods are told what to say and what not to say. I've seen it all, and I'm not the only one who has. (read: DAMAGE CONTROL)- The Rollback Cover-up
Right, but this is coming from you, a Player ranked in at least one JMod CC, and the CC belongs to the big guy himself, MMG, amongst likely other CCs. Same guy who would defend any decision made by Jagex to the death as seen from previous encounters with you and other ranks in said CC, decisions that were regretted by the JMods in Private Q&A's held at RuneFest that I managed to get my hands on audio of. Jagex isn't the company they make themselves out to be. They don't have to be, so why would they? Why tell the truth and look bad when they don't have to? So how about approaching it from an unbiased angle instead of a pro-Jagex angle whilst painting it as unbiased.- The Rollback Cover-up
Since the level resets have been occuring, people over at [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation] have been selling accounts with Turmoil / 10 defence for high prices... Basically a mega pure... makes me lol- 07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
AND 6 more in the bank. These things are far from rare, and I think the masks are common from the Cyclossus. GJ Jagex, done something correct.- 07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender
better bring a form of ranged or your cyclossus will be stolen. no 2h specs can be used at all- 07-Dec-2010 - Warriors Guild and Dragon Defender

- 03-Dec-2010 - New Jagex Store
They misspelled Ranarr on one of the shirts "Ranaar" Ah, Jagex- Hi Tip.It
Welcome back, inb4 mean posts saying wrong forum. A lot has changed.- 03-Dec-2010 - New Jagex Store
Seems like Level 99 Party Animal is a contradiction in itself.- Future Update Discussions
You'd have to be shortsighted yourself to think that Jagex isn't. If it's instanced, I will be shocked beyond words.- Future Update Discussions
- I thought rune defenders were pretty good already. Won't the Dragon Defenders be TOO good?
looks like no instance - 14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
