Chaos Tunnel Waterfiends with new Prayer Curses
Logdotzip replied to Logdotzip's topic in General Guides
The only thing that really limits your time per trip is the amount of prayer potions you use, so it would be best to try to conserve. The reflect missiles barely reflects anything worth noticing back at the waterfiends, although you do get the protection. It's just that, at such high combat stats, the defensive aspects really arn't as important when it comes to that, so you go for Turmoil and Soul Split, which is the best of both worlds, as it provides a healing source as well as a good defensive boost (Turmoil used against waterfiends provides a 29 percent defensive boost) I appreciate the input and will look into your suggestion -
CHAOS TUNNEL WATERFIENDS WITH NEW PRAYER CURSES By Logdotzip Hello, I am writing this in addition to my in-depth video guide (HERE) on the new fastest way of acquiring crimson charms, without costing you ANYTHING; Waterfiends in the Chaos Tunnels, using the new Prayer Curses. Using this guide you can get well over 200 crimsons per hour! [spoiler=Background]On Dec. 3rd, Jagex released a quest which opened up new High level Prayer Curses available to those who have finished the quest "The Temple at Senntisten". Among the special and damage reducing prayers, were a few gems. These in particular, are "Berserker"; a Prayer that slows the rate that level boosts fall, "Soul Split"; a version of Smite that heals you, and "Turmoil", a (in most cases) beefed up Piety. I did the quest a good hour after the update, and luckily I had access to all the Prayers already. I quickly thought to myself, "What's the best way I could use these new Prayers? Eh I'll find out later, I have waterfiends to kill--- OSHI-" Then it hit me. I quickly tried out a few inventories with food and prayer and some Extreme potions until I hit the jackpot. Here, I present to you, the winning formula. [spoiler=Requirements]Let me remind all of you right off the bat, this is not for low levels, medium levels, even high levels. This guide is aimed at people who are almost entirely maxed in combat, and definately maxed in melees. This is for those people who just want that Pack Yak super bad or want to get their Summoning ranks up. There are much better Waterfiends guides out there if you don't fit either of those categories. That being said... REQ levels 99 melees 95 prayer 90 magic 70 ranged 92 summoning (Wolpertinger is NOT reccomended) REC levels 99 melees 99 prayer 99 magic 70 ranged 95/99 summoning 90 herblore (extreme sets) [spoiler=Setup]NOTE: It's been made clear to me I wasn't obvious enough when I suggested you take another familiar with you in addition to the first one. It mentions it later in the guide but I understand some people may skip certain portions of this guide. What you're supposed to do is take a dose of each of those potions lined vertically, bank them, then grab an addition familiar, and more food if you wish it (More than 5 pizzas isn't needed unless you're lacking somewhere in the levels / gear. Thank you to those who pointed out how this could be confusing. If you're using this guide, then the following setup will be no problem for you: READ "GETTING THERE" SECTION TO GET THE FULL INVENTORY SETUP You can replace the Spear for a Sara sword, but no other substitute is worth using. If you're on task, you'll wear a Slayer helm, and if you have them, an Armadyl Plateskirt. You'd be surprised as I was as to how much that slightly higher magic defence helped. It's not Necesarry at all to use over Karil's, but if you have both, get the Arma skirt on. Choice of ring is always differing, some like their zerkers, but my imbued onyx will always hold a special place in my heart. THE ONLY possible substitute for this armour is if you're using a Wolpertinger, in which case, use Void Melee, Wolpertingers magic defense bonus will make Void Worth it. VOID is NOT worth it in any other case. Tried and tested. I would set your quickcurses and summoning click options, to these: You can set your click to be special, but I like having attack first, because special is just one click away, and having attack as a first option lets me ensure I don't go off using scrolls on nearly dead waterfiends. [spoiler=Getting there]First off, drink the four potions lined up top to bottom, one dose each, then bank those and grab another familiar of your choice. You can fill up the extra empty slots with food, but it won't be needed. I leave them open to pick up charms and early drops without hassle. Now we head off! First make your way to the Gargoyle rift, north of Oziach-ish. Take the portal leading to Mummies (Melee Pray). Follow that room west to get to Zamorak mages, and take their portal to dust devils. You make it? great! Be careful not to click these by mistake, especiailly if you dont have a slayer helm on you. Take the portal to black demons (Melee Pray), and through to the Bronze Dragons. You sohuld have taken an antifire dose at the bank, so don't worry about their hits. Make your way to the northern area of the Bronze Dragon room and take the northeast portal, leading to turoth. From there it's just one portal away to your destination! Now that we're here, summon your familiar, get a scroll attack ready (if applicable), throw on your quickcurses and head on in! (Calling your familiar when you're in the room speeds it up). [spoiler=The Battle]From here it's just a damage fest! (Make sure your Spear / SS is on crush attack!) Try to CONSTANTLY use your Iron or Steel Titan's scrolls, combining both the efforts of your helm and your own clicking. Wolper users, it's not even worth bringing Wolper scrolls. :< Now, because the Berserker Prayer Curse slows the rate that boosted stats fall, it's not 1 level drop/min now. So redose on your Supers/Extremes every 12 LEVELS dropped, not every 12 minutes. Remember that. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO USE ALL YOUR PIZZAS. They're only there to help you make it while the fiends are still aggressive, you'll almost ALWAYS be max HP once they're unaggressive, thanks to Soul Split. And speaking of... When they're unaggressive, and your HP is full or nearly, you can feel free to take off Soul Split, to conserve prayer. Just remember to put it back on when you need to start healing again. [spoiler=The Charms]All things ideal, using this guide you can walk away with over 200 crimsons per hour. However, The more you don't have, and have to sacrifice, the worse you'll do: No extremes: -20/hr No Steel: -80/hr No Iron: -60/hr No Wolper: -30/hr Welfare Gear: -25/hr Welfare Wep: -40/hr [spoiler=The Price]By now you're probably thinking, "how much is this gonna cost me??!" NOTHING. In fact you'll probay PROFIT. Waterfiend drops make up for supplies spent every time. I've done so many trips already, and have never ever lost money, most of the time making about 50 - 70k profit each trip. PRO. Supplies Spent are roughly 300 - 310k per trip Here's the loot after one trip, KEEP IN MIND, not all the supplies were even used. (banked them lol) [spoiler=Example Trips] The following trip was timed at 66 minutes... 190 crimson and 6 blues, with many greens and golds not picked up lol... Scroll down for price of this trip The Price The loot Anyways, that's my poorly organized and written guide. Hope it helps some of you! Again if you missed it, here's the video guide.VIDEO GUIDE It has EVERYTHING this guide has, along with some hot music. Thanks!

Thank god for Soul Split, high hits were getting out of hand Hit a 40 with whip with turmoil turned on, get healed 10 Can't wait to see prayer flashers using this (ME included - it still works somewhat lol) Also I wonder if the 10% boost to strength from turmoil works against NPC's?

Then you fail. Players made the hype NOT jagex. If you re-read the tweet it fits EXACTLY with what we have been given No need to be a little punkass about it. I'm far from the the only one who was expecting much, much more -

Because you guys have gotten all the content the last 4 years-ish now I have incentive to play and level
-
Well aparently there may be some form of a prayer update soon, based on something smellysocks said in a different thread and this speculation about there being a new icon for the prayer menu (on the runescape kb - prayer guide)
-
Looking at my last post, I guess I didn't really answer your question. In your case, a Wolpertinger would work best against someone in Ranged Defensive gear
-
I can't remember where I read it, but I do remember reading somewhere that a player's summoning defence bonus, as well as their normal defence bonuses / levels both play a part in determining how effective a familiar's attack will be. From what I read, a player's normal defensive bonus / levels determine the likelyhood of hitting with a familiar, and the summoning defence bonus determines how high the familiar will be able to hit on a fairly controlled basis, a la elysian / divine spirit shields. Again I don't remember if I read tha on RSOF or on a fansite, but it seems fairly accurate sounding lol. hope that helps

while I appreciate all the suggestions being made, it wasn't what I had in mind for the thread itself. I only threw a couple of my ideas in to possibly spark the main question which was; If this was something you'd like to see implemented, and to see how plausible it could be, or how much sense it could make.

I posted this before the herblore update, so a magic boosting prayer was osmewhat plausible
