  1. Swap d hide for the torags, you'll be fine with BTP. Oh, and wealth doesn't do a whole lot here; addy bars aren't rare, so they won't be affected, and the rare drop (crystal key) is neither valuable nor common. It's better then no ring, but life would be fine to. Just don't listen to the 'it loweres the chances of addy bars!' balderdash.
  2. 99 slayer impossible, summoning (fairly) easy with chest thieving.
  3. Amazing, isn't it? At least you edited your 'email' to 'in game mail'. Smells kinda funny to me - anyway, there's always a few bad apples. Plus you don't know the whole story; perhaps he had been hacked, or a family member got on his account. I've met tons of friendly, helpful mods. You don't need to post a rant every time you (allegedly) report someone.
  4. @ Soma - The formula is correct, but varies slightly. I spent 2 hours testing them in clan wars, screenshotting hits. My hits were almost always double my max, but often were 1 over or under it. Interestingly enough, there seemed to be a pattern - I have several shots where I hit a certain number (say 36) for my first hit, and my next 3 hits were always the same, with the hits adding up to 1 over twice max. And yes, they own badly - I'll be buying my own pair in a few days. Assuming a max hit of 43 to 45 for the claws, with the average beginning hit at 22, your averaging 88 damage per 2 specs, so fast that when rushed your opponent rarely has time to eat. They work on the same animation type as rune crossbow, pausing and locking you into position during the spec then 'snapping' back to where you should be afterwords. This means that you can rush someone - especially when running, and be as much as 6 squares away while hitting them, giving them virtually no warning. If your average beginning hits for the two specs are 2-3 higher then average, and your spec doesn't miss (It is very accurate; I only specced 1-0 1-0 one time, on a 130 in torags\d fire shield. 1-0 seems to be the 'miss' spec, as it happens more frequently on high level players in good armor.), you will have a 2 hit at drag dagger speed KO. The claws do seem to hit very high frequently; Jagex may be tampering with the hits behind the scenes as they briefly hinted at in the KB.
  5. Nope, it's at most 1m an hour, and you spend 3/4ths of what you make on materials. There is currently NO way to make junk at anything close to regular money making rates.
  6. That's 266 kills per hour, possible but not likely. You could just go in full arma\d hide though. The only real problem is that you won't have room for range pots, but other then that everything besides herbs stacks.
  7. Rune crossbow, with a lower requirement, maxes 60s at 60 range. At 60 strength you max... 25s...? with dragon scimmy. Don't compare apples to oranges, and max hits are a terrible way to compare weapons.
  8. someone loves his ags :D. I dunno man, from what I hear, it totally owns AGS. He's right. The AGS spec has a MASSIVE accuracy boost. From what I hear d claws aren't that great. Guess it's time to get a pair and try it myself....
  9. Hi pinguimmadin... Summoning pouches are NOT junk; they usually return very close to their worth in shards\alchs\selling. There is NO good way to make junk.
  10. Much better. You could cut out the smiley spam though :? I don't know though, the only task I can think of where it would be handy is fire giants.
  11. It's a thought, I've wished for it too. But your rant could be worded a bit better ;)
  12. Neither, melee is overpowered and range is VERY overpowered. Range > melee at the same combat levels.
  13. As shown above, you could easily get it in 2 years - 2 weeks of no lifing, or a month of heavy playing.
  14. Happens :P I've had some good discussion, some bad discussion, and some arguing-with-an-obstinate-idiot discussion. I thought I had this covered in the first post, guess not
  15. I'm afraid your quite mistaken. From a personal standpoint, I believe that slayer is a really fun, amazing skill - one of the best, and I love training it and will continue to do so. The cold, hard facts, however, state that it is very bad XP and money.
  16. Ehh, I'll respond to it simply. What are you arguing against? My point, again: Slayer is bad XP and money, and is only worth training if your really enjoy it and are willing to make many sacrifices for the total levels. For the vast majority of players, getting 80 slayer is going to be as high as they will want need for total levels; they would have to be near maxed in most skills to make training slayer any higher better for total levels. All items covered in far more detail through the course of this thread. What are you arguing against? :|
  17. Yes, just like a magic pot.
  18. Range and magic are already extremely powerful. I can frequently defeat 130+ players with my 96 range - hitting as well or better then my (almost) maxed melee stats! A single miasmic barrage will completely change the outcome of a fight, and range and magic still hold exclusive rights to multiple targets, especially mage.
  19. I'm a slight dyslexic, but not enough to affect reading or writing skills. It crops up from time to time when I'm doing difficult math, but it's rare enough not to bother me. Thanks for caring, though. I find it interesting how your arguing about combat training and money earning, then when proven wrong suddenly switching to 'well im maxed out stats and bank so all ur methods suck'. I have nothing more to say. Nope, most skills offer much better total levels then slayer. Plus fun, as I've mentioned before. Fun and earning cash\XP are two entirely separate arguments. I find it hard to believe you can get that slow of hunter XP, headache and all, but I'll assume you were talking from an enjoyment point - a separate, and entirely unarguable, point. So yes, if you enjoy training slayer it's worth training. You can stop beating this point to death; I've done it already for you. From an XP standpoint, I stop at 99. From a personal standpoint, I stop and do something else when I get bored. Hope that addresses your concerns. Learn to separate facts from opinions. I can sum up my post nicely: Slayer is bad XP and cash; it is only worth training if you enjoy it. Let me know which part of your post I refuse to recognize.
  20. Good. Now you can camp a monster to get far more XP then you ever will from slayer. Do yourself a favor - read my original post and replys before you go on a tirade about how I completely ignore things. I have, literally hundreds of times, stated that the only reason to train slayer is for personal enjoyment - but that you are wasting MASSIVE amounts of time and money doing that. I thought 200 odd times would be enough to get my point across; perhaps I should have put it in my signature. Amazing how I've already covered this (many times), isn't it? The average player could get a middling slayer level and have half a dozen skills they could raise for much easier total levels, making your argument completely invalid for all but a very few high level players who have no other skills to raise besides slayer.
  21. You always use the worst examples. I just had a nech task(150) that took me a little over an hour. I spent 5k on food, pots, and bunyip. Got 3 rune boots, 4 full helms, 3 snap seeds. Almost 300k cash. And a good 80k xp. And while this is a good task, more tasks are like this (lots of profit) then those that are not. What is this 'worst example' you speak of? 75k\h is an average for all slayer tasks. Using a specific example is also very misleading. Averages count, not specific tasks.
  22. I choose you, Pikachu! No but srsly GTFO you troll I bet your slayer level is -1. With ring of wealth I find myself constantly getting anywhere from 1-10 awesome drops a task, which includes Rune, Addy (for alching), and other high valued items. Plus a ton of runes, stackables, and sometimes noted items depending on the monster. Truly, you get an insane amount of fire runes. All those items add to around 75k an hour when you subtract costs for prayer\armor\summons\teleports\time to get new tasks or bank etc. And I've gotten over 100k fire runes, so yes you do get a lot. Except that so far 3260 of them have sold in the GE in the past 3 weeks. I've had to use them for junk -.-
  23. Nope, I didn't. I said, as usual, 400k per hour. Try 96 range + throwing rings + void + 10% range + unicorn before you knock it. Heck, I've gotten 636k an hour there, but that's pushing it on an empty world.
  24. Zombie monkeys drop only bones and that I'm 99% sure of. You may make alot of xp/hr but it doesn't make up for all the slayer drops your going to miss. Armored zombies, armored zombies. Far more XP and cash then slayer. 102k XP\hour + 180k profit registers more as a fact then an opinion. It's really no competition.
  25. 'scuse me, armored zombies.
