  1. *ahem*. Do they beat avansies, GWD, or any of the hundreds of other places to earn money? If not, you can use that 1m+ an hour to buy more herbs then you will ever get at specters. If you enjoy killing the same 20 monsters over and over again for fun, that's your choice, not mine - but your wasting massive amounts of time and money doing it. Congratz, you completely missed my point. I'm saying that yes, I enjoy it, but it does suck for XP and money. I'm simply stating that to show that I am, if anything, biased for slayer, as people tend to try and bring personal opinions in a factual debate. =D> Yep, if you've maxed out virtually every skill besides runecrafting and herblore, you might find it worth it to train slayer. But for the rest of us who aren't there yet, a level of 80 or so would be much harder then other levels we could raise, if we're that concerned about total levels. Personally I could care less, as people never even look at totals and there is no other reason to train slayer. Right back at ya, I won't expect you at zombie monkies any time soon  Then again, I'm currently camping at spirit mages. Meh.
  2. Fact: Slayer, at any level, is MUCH worse XP, charms, and cash then other methods of training. See my thread in rants for details. Example: Slayer with +10% strength: 60k xp, 75k profit per hour Zombie monkeys: 102k xp, 180k profit per hour. There are NO good slayer monster worth training on outside of slayer. Zip. Zero. Zilch. So if you want to waste 233m, go ahead and train slayer with the rest of your combat skills. It may pay off someday if you decided to get maxed total level. Other then that, your wasting your time, money, and charms. Side note: this post is 100% fact, 0% opinion. I personally enjoy training slayer, and plan to continue to do so. However, if you want XP or cash, it's a VERY bad idea.
  3. go and one click a black dragon without mage noobcake. Way to miss the point... Mkay, here we go. First of all, let's take a look at some real weapons. My max with adamant bolts is 45, give or take, and 60 with dragon bolts. What was that about whip, again? My max with dark bow (non spec) is 64, 96 with special. My max with chinchompas is 207 (not that it counts). Yet my max with a bronze dagger is only 18! Melee is underpoweed!!!! Comparing apples to oranges won't do you any good -.-
  4. +10% strength - 45k per hour Piety - 120k per hour. Just for camping there with prayer pots instead of running up\teleing to recharge prayer.
  5. ? I don't get what you mean. Numbers? or Worded? ANYWAY So what do you suggest Jagex to do? There's always bad things that people can say about slayer when they're trying to train from level 1 to 85 Slow exp... high cost... dangerous... useless skill... But from what I've heard from moneymaking guides on the runescape forums.. ONCE you hit level 85, abyssal demons will provide the second best amount of cash/hour below merchanting. And maybe runecrafting. --wait scratch that, runecrafting at level 92. You only need slayer at level 85. But when you think about it, all that time taken and money spent into getting level 85 slayer will get you rewarded with 600k per hour. (Abyssal whip drops once every ~400 kills?) With every good money maker, you need to invest some time and energy, and maybe sacrifice some exp into getting it in the first place. But I'm a level 3. Free to play. And maybe what I'm saying is all wrong. But it's from my point of view :P I'm sorry, but your rather misinformed. Abyssal demons are, at best, 500k or so per hour. There are innumerable ways to get more then that, like avansies or GWD. They are a decent task, as slayer goes, but no good outside of it. So really, there's no reason to ever use slayer besides 55 for slayer dart. Besides from wanting additionnal levels and fighting abberant specters at 60 slayer for the best herb and herb seed dropper in the game and training a skill that's available for all to use. What's so great about aberrant specters? There isn't a single reason to fight them outside of slayer, as with virtually EVER task. 83 slayer and rising. Not really - there's so many other skills that could be leveled far faster then slayer for total levels. Unless they plan on maxing out everything, there isn't any reason to.
  6. Love those spirit mages...
  7. You can't ever buy anything at GE price? What do you deal in, 3rd age? (although I hear that's becoming unfrozen too). Seriously, for virtually all items its way better then the 'sit-in-world-2-for-10-minutes-to-buy-5-prayer-pots', and for the few frozen ones, it's the same thing.
  8. Why do you say that as if it's a bad thing? Oh noes, the jagex doesn't like their players! They want to make money! Oh wait, they are a company, who's sole purpose is to make money. Oops.

  10. This used to be a problem, but it doesn't happen any more... Go to a less crowded world?
  11. I agree that the point of the game is to kill your opponent it's just that I wish they would actually let you get out of your base instead of camping outside and killing you every few seconds. Once I actually got away only to be chased down by half their team of pkers. That is what really bothers me. Why does that bother you? They kept you from getting points, endangering their teammates, or building up good enough armor\weapons to bother them. You can do the same thing back to them. It's not like they are all powerful; a ranger can take an ancient down with ease. It's like saying 'it really bothers me when people kill me in castle wars when I'm trying to score'. But all you're going to have are your fists- so only melee. No unarmed meleer with no food can even get in RANGE of a skilled ancient mage. I'm talking about before they die. If they kill the ancient the first time, then THEY have the advantage against the helpless previously-ancient. A single pickpocket can take out an ancient mage easily; but like any other combat style, they decimate the no armor\no food\no weapon players that come out of the spawn room.
  12. Alienware for WoW. . . WoW isn't that demanding and I don't think the OP needs something that powerful, or overpriced for that matter. My laptop (1.6ghz dual core, 2gb ram, GeForce GO 7300) runs WoW with ease. With most graphics down, I can break 60FPS without a sweat. So even laptops with low end dedicated cards (GeForce GO 7300, 8200, 9300) will play WoW. Got to watch the Intel GFX because they use shared memory, the low end Nvidia's normally have at least 128mb dedicated, which is what you want. That was supposed to be a joke of sorts :? Yes, a decent laptop can run it with settings toned down, but the integrated graphics really can't handle it.

  14. -.- There goes any reason to do the quest - I'm not getting 60 more QP just so I can earn 10m and get some XP that I could get in a day otherwise.
  15. It's true about old alching prices - they were the only 'value' available before the GE, and apparently are the 'value' assigned to weapons in the Runescape world, giving Jagex a nice excuse to use them. I'd like to see them switch to GE values myself; fairly simple, and I wouldn't be so annoyed about dying with DH -.-
  16. Defender! D boots is a yes. I guess you could get d gaunts, if you're an avid FOG player and all..But I'd suggest RFD since its a lot less hassle. Not too sure about cape, whichever you prefer really (I went with obby cape, although i killed Tzhaars for it) Go for firecape whenever you can. MSB/Knives on mosters with low def (Fire giants, moss giants, rock crabs, yaks, etc) Crossbow for those high def monsters (dragons, black demons, etc) : RFD less hassle then d guants? Sir, have you done RFD? Other then that, yes - bronze knives with void work very well on low defence monsters, but fail epically on high defence.
  17. Off topic, but if\when you get it forged, could you confirm\deny the +10 strength rumor?
  18. This is for camping outside of the spawn room, where they have no armor\arrows\runes etc. Magic prayer makes it a bit tougher, but if, like in most games, you have a couple of teamates around to back you up - it becomes a 1-hit fest for any combat level. It's really a reminder of how important armor\weapons are.
  19. Good, that'll teach spammers. Too bad they can't actually collect anywhere near that much.
  20. Your lucky if you can get close to them. Ice barrage is a wonderful thing - any smart mage should have no problem holding off an unarmed meleer, then healing with blood spells.
  21. Quite a few suspicious looking ones in there. Try http://housecall.trendmicro.com/.
  22. That really wouldn't cut it. Something like http://www.alienware.com/customize/M17-notebook.aspx?Syscode=PC-LT-M17&SubCode=SKU-GAMER might be better.
  23. Maxed strength bonus w/ Sara Sword and maxed 99s, using piety and super setting once a minute, with a steel titan and scrolls in a nezinot helm. Makes for around 128k XP\hour. Any questions?
  24. YOU can never be to secure when i comes to keyloggers or something like that ;) Not going to a site because your paranoid isn't going to do anything though. Just don't enter your password. And yes, this is some sort of redirection thing - either your router table has been compromised, or the same thing infected both of your computers. check the hosts file. I could almost guarantee you'll see a runescape.com entry - delete it and your fine. Of course, there's probably more underlying products - so use the tools I mentioned earlier. No need to panic.
