  1. Ok, I started avg but iI dont think its my computer. I just tried entering runescape from my laptop and it goes to the same site as on my main pc. :ohnoes: That's a problem... Same virus, or router redirection?
  2. Your hosts file (C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts) has been hijacked, most likely. Open it up and look for an entry labeled 'runescape.com'. It's redirecting traffic from runescape to whatever the IP of the scam site is. You probably have all sorts of viruses, DON'T LOG ON UNTIL YOUR CLEAN. Use tools like AVG Antispyware, Spybot S&D, and Lavasoft Ad-Aware to clean it out.
  3. DFS

Things it is good for: Meleeing dragons Ranging\maging in PVP or boss fights. Things it is not good for: Meleeing Ranging\Maging when defence is not needed.
  4. If it can run java, probably. You might not get the greatest frame rates, though. (tech and computer would be better)
  5. If you can make it to the level 1 deposit, those ancinet magers must be asleep. Two ancients can usually take out a player within a step of the entrance. Heck, I've 3 hit people myself - they never even get a chance to move. Plus the shadow blitz\blood barrage keep me in fine shape for the few that make it there. ;)
  6. actually, I take out 1 of those mages after ~10 deaths \ , but then that's just me, a lvl 116 tank with 83 mage and 86 defense and 70 prayer. However, you're right; 2 v 1 isn't very favorable. The difference between 2 v 1 and 3 v 2 is vastly different, so I won't get into that. The relevance is that very rarely is there only a single person being spawn killed. Usually it's about 4-6. If those people just used tactics (like all pile 1 mage with smite and protect item), they would eventually break through the defenses and either kill the mage or force them to retreat (which is basically just as good in terms of fighting). Rarely does someone actually manage to protect a high level dagger; they don't have the presence of mind or the prayer points left (smite works wonders). Yet 2 ancient mages can easily hold off several meleers by freezing and blood barraging.
  7. Why are you calling it a 'virus'? It's an online game, for heaven's sakes. Yes, Jagex has made money off of it, and it appears to be going fine as long as Jagex doesn't shift to mechscape.
  8. Where does one go about obtaining these 'nature altar tele runes'? If we're using hypothetical situations, try stackable ess. I've often wondered what I'd do if I found that as a glitch. Report it as a bug and never use it? Craft a small amount every now and then when I'm hard up for cash? Instantly get 99 runecrafting + untold riches, but risk banning? at least his is possiable. with your idea, you'd need a way to get the stackable essence in bulk. which means that this would have to be an object in game. which means that someone has to of programs an object that acts exactally as pure essence, which means recoding all the altars to use this new item in the same way as pure essence, or alter the pure essence into a stackable item, which would require a method to turn any item into a stackable object while keeping the inital quality of that item. which means someone needs to alter the source code, sneak it in with an update, all on their spare time, and risk their job. Aside: i hate it when people confuse computational impossiability with a glitch What? Or someone at Jagex could accidentally make ess considered 'stackable'. About as likely as them accidentally putting in a tele directly to nature altar.
  9. Even if they lose their AGSes in PVP, their opponents get them. It's like saying old style pking drove whips up - even if someone lost theirs, their opponent would pick it up and sell it. And SGS is far better then ags for non-dangerous PVP like clan wars and fight pits. I use it all the time there.
  10. I knew not doing MEPII would catch up to me someday...
  11. Defender a definite YES. It's better for melee then ANY other shield, including DFS and Elysian. RFD is something you HAVE to do. Sooner or later you will end up doing it; make it sooner! It's really not that tough or long. I did it in ~3 days, without much playing, as a 103. Get legends cape; you'll use it latter, I still do occasionally for PKing. Broad bolts were the final nail in MSBs coffin, use them.
  12. I frequently use combat level for complex names. Some guy named '018524924' (yes, people have all number names) just is easier to address as '112'
  13. Perhaps you should read my earlier replys. I demonstrated how simply replying to abuse reports (And the reports are pretty darn good already!) would cost Jagex many times what they take in in a year. Do you see the problem? The 'only reason they can get away with it' is because their system of letting the community answer questions works very well - and they do an amazing job on the reports, considering their limited resources. Yes, I do. I've worked at many places, including an IT help desk where my job was customer support. Unfairly banned? Send them an appeal - and they will virtually always repeall it if it is unfair. I got 1 fair ban and 1 unfair - I appealed the unfair one, and was denied in about an hour. I appealed the fair one, and in 5 minutes the blackmarks and 3 days mute were gone. If you need in game help, post it on the forums! Jagex doesn't want to hear 'how can i makez monys!!!!! can i has free ags plz!'. Just think of the RSOF, multiply the message by 5 and drop the IQ by 10 to simulate FTP, then funnel all that to some poor blokes inbox. It just doesn't work; they can't afford that much - especially considering how well their system works.
  14. Yup, on quite a few games I and my team have done spawn camping. I do it after I've gotten plenty of points, and it lets all the other players on our team get massive points uninterrupted. Because the other team is practically helpless without clay, they don't stand a chance. As for the dagger, 2 ancient mages can easily take out a player before he ever gets close enogh to touch them. It's strategy; I earned that 135 combat and 99 magic.
  15. Try 130 employees. And as I demonstrated above, hiring another 8,375 employees JUST for abuse reports probably isn't the best business model. The customer support is quite nice - your reports are handled (almost always) very well, and the forums solve the questions. And believe it or not, as you will find out if you every try to host a server, one does have to pay a bit of money to host a website for 130,000,000 people. People seem to forget that jagex is a business. Their goal is to make money. Trying to answer the stupid questions of 130,000,000 whiny players doesn't fall under that category. Drop the 'they aren't that smart of a company' rubbish.
  16. So we have fun, kill you to keep your from getting points like we're supposed to, and because of it we're 10 year old noobs? Logic fail, please. Honestly, that's the point of the game - get points yourself, keep the other team from getting them! Pickpocket those mages, it's very effective. I would know, I'm having fun practicing magic combos there
  17. Fire wave gives much more XP and hits 2 higher at your level. Use it.
  18. Avansies, depending on the method, 300-450k. Green drags are good money PTP. Values are calculated using cost of bursting (most efficient) at my money earning levels, adding the value of earning XP and busting XP, subtracting the time and risk required. Please don't ask me to write it out :-#
  19. Green drags melee: ~250k, Green drags range: ~150-200k Mining iron: ~120k? Not positive. Mining Gold: Not sure, fairly low though Mining pure ess: ~175k No clue about pizzas, but I've heard they aren't that great. Meleeing green dragons is probably the best idea. With near-maxed stats and the absolute best equipment (bandos, DFS etc.), piety, war tortoise etc. I could make about 670k per hour + around 200k in charms, while getting decent melee XP.
  20. It took my typing from 95 to 130+ WPM...

  22. Distances don't matter, but if your safespotting it won't collect them.
  23. #1 - 5: Go outside, have a good time with some friends, work out a bit to make up for that thanksgiving meal... #2 - 1, Avansies.
  24. RSN: DeviledEgg24 Combat: 135 PTP
  25. And this is where I point out he never lumped anyone together, he just said some PKers were [wagon]. I understand that he never specifically said everyone who pks is an [wagon], but he's making assumptions based on people getting angry at him for going to a PvP world and not PvPing. I'm sure I would be angry about that, especially if he's going around generally causing unwanted disruption(I understand it was his friend ddsing people) . Let's say you're firemaking, and someone comes along and starts planting flowers right in front of where you're firemaking. Now, this person is only causing unwanted disruption and ruining the enjoyment of others for some selfish pleasure. This is exactly what is happening here. It's understandable to get mad if someone is being a nuisance. He wasn't doing anything, just watching. You're not a pain to anyone if you're not doing anything in a PVP world. Technically, yes. But PVP worlds ARE for fighting - your supposed to go there to fight. A person asking if he wanted to fight was actually doing the polite thing, at least at first. And we don't even know if it was a PVP world.
