  1. Yup, it's very obvious, noticeable, and reportable. Don't do it.
  2. +13 prayer vs. +6 strength. Not really a contest, your prayer will drain WAY faster with bandos. That 'little extra' +10% or piety prayer can speed it up a lot.
  3. Bunyip has its uses, but a unicorn is FAR better. This is a slow method though, but 40 HP per slot aint bad. And because it's a potion you never have an eating delay, but it takes a while for the healing. Not as 'instant' as sharks.
  4. One of the biggest factors is how long you\your opponent has been outside of a safespot. If you run out\in before you kill someone, your much less likely to get a good drop. Value of your opponents items is NOT the big factor.
  5. Name a single situation where bandos is the armor-of-choice. Just one will do. Any type of monster hunting: verac's skirt + proslyte top + 10% strength pray. Any type of PVP (except against a ranger) results in dharok\verac smoking bandos badly.
  6. 5000 toks sounds awfully high.. are you sure it was that many? I know 900 got me from bronze-2 rune, and recently I went back to get a couple more after hearing horror stories - got two within 100 tokens.
  7. You are kidding...right? Not in the least. +23% strength and +20% attack is quite an immense boost. And there's that +25% defence boost that makes up for the pathetic defence of proselyte. I agree with you on everything except the pathetic +1 prayer of bandos. Ever noticed that verac's skirt is +6 prayer? Barrows 1, Bandos 0. But yes, veracs skirt\proslyte top will out hit, out defend, and generally out-do bandos.
  8. If your talking about safe PVP, where the best armor\equipment are standard, I know that a balanced build is by FAR the best. I've spent hundreds of hours at pits\castle wars\clan wars, training from 65 to almost maxed melee stats while doing them (92-99 strength was almost all from fight pits).
  9. Well... actually, I used the combat calculator on this site, and a 90, 90, 70 pure is equivilant to a 85, 85, 85 balanced, doesn't seem like much of a disadvantage to me... (I'm excludeing prayer on both sides and they are both combat level 97) Yeah, the 85-85-85 will win by far. As you scale up even higher, that 99-99-45 pure that seems like such a great idea will meet a nasty death at the hands of an 87-87-87 player in torag's dd++. Been there, done that. DD++ won't hit that much on 87 defence + torags, but 45 defence and rune = 2-3 specced. I didn't show a rune pure, I showed a barrows pure. By the time you hit 70 defence, your hardly a pure, and you've lost all that 'cheap armor' advantage. Now it's just 99-99-70 vs. 99-90-85 - the extra 10 strength levels won't make up for the 15 defence levels (assuming the 2nd player only has 95 HP), as defence is more important then strength at that level unless your using veracs. A high level whip tank vs. whip tank fight goes something like 0-0-0-0-0-0-23-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-70-0-0-0-0-0-29-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-0-41 making attack and defence MUCH more important then strength, as you are hitting\being hit much less then 50% of the time. And that 85 defence will still help against dd++ specs that will do nasty things to 70 defence with 99 attack. You can't crunch numbers like that on pvp. I was a barrows pure for ages, and it did destroy balanced builds. My kills to deaths, no matter where I went, were around 3-1 easily on people my combat. One of the things you're forgetting are that prayers raise skills by a percentage, which benefits people with one or two high skills over people with balanced stats. Exactly why Piety kicks [wagon] for a balanced build, +25% defense please. Of course a barrows build is going to own. Hardly anyone, including balanced players, wear barrows, so torags > rune. It is entirely possible to crunch numbers though, and the largest boost of any prayer goes to *ahem* defence.

I personally don't like running around killing the same amounts of the same 20 monsters over and over again; I'd rather plunk myself down in front of zombie monkies, earn all the XP in half the time, and go do something fun like GWD or Fight Pits. It is true that slayer's bad XP though.

  12. As you can see, I had 716 bars after nearly 4 hours. That's more like 180 bars per hour. Bars are 2300 each you know. As you can see, bars are only a part of the profit, there's the alchs too. I dont bringg arma pendant cause the aviansies get unagressive after a while. The first few minutes I pray whenever I get piled. I stand right at the geyser and attack any bird like creature that isnt 131 combat :-). If you find my killing count high, Compfreak says he can get 300 kc an hour. Dont know how though, I thought I was doing pretty well with around 170 an hour. Thrown rings. Epic weapons of ubier ownageness. I'm not using them any more so I don't mind saying. I usually can't quite hit 300, but it's always well over 200 and sometimes close to 300. Potting often with +10% range pray and unicorn, my outfit is eerily similar to yours.
  13. I like the skill and train it (85 should be coming up soon ). It's just a huge waste of time and money, but it's fun enough that it's worth the 200m it costs for 99.
  14. FTP pretty much stinks for PVP. They just don't have enough good weapons to deliver some real KO actions, yet they have the (stupid) teleport spells. Losing? Just hit falador tele and your fine. And yeah, the finding AI needs a LOT of work. I'm sick of getting stuck on a table or rock. I can't really think of any good solutions though.
  15. Get 70 range. Go avansies. Make 400k+ and 40k+ XP per hour in the higiher range levels. Continue to 99 range, where you can make well over 600k per hour. Use all that money to tan d hides. Merchant after you have around 10 million. Go GWD if possible. Do MTK and battlestaffs for a constant income.
  16. Apparently you didn't read it :? I said that slayer was fun and all, but that it was terrible XP and profit. Us 'power training macroers' (Side note: when I was training range on experiments for 4 days, I saw a total of 3 other people. I see and compete with hundreds every day during slayer, and am roundly cursed should I dare intrude upon someone elses monster). Thanks for echoing my statements though - do what you like to, I personally train slayer - but if you want XP or cash, power train instead of slaying (And since when was slayer not a method of 'powertraining'?). I'm glad you enjoyed your 92 range with slayer, I got 96 range from experiments and found it quite enjoyable also, due to little competition. I've been training slayer and have been increasingly fed up with the annoying attitudes and constant competition, almost to the point of stopping training altogether. You train your way, I'll train mine. Facts: Slayer is BAD XP, BAD money, and BAD charms. Training at a monster like experiments will result in much more XP in much less time. You can pick which one you enjoy more, but get the facts straight.
  17. What about it? He'd have to be pretty darn lucky to be able to grab another spawn just as he manage to hit 50% off the HP of the other monster, and it would certainly degrade his XP\hour. And he'd have to be safespotting, so every 2 minutes (at the most), he has to run out and grab his drops, getting hit and letting the meleer grab his monster. That's why few people safespot these days, and why the problem you mentioned is tiny. Well people do this when they have a slayer task for example hellhounds and they have generally no drops so they dont have to pick the drops up. As long as the person is going to finish their slayer task they might not care about the ranged xp. And Hellhounds have a rather fast spawn rate and if the meleers dont kill the almost dead ones it gets to the point of 90% of them being almsot dead and everyone is forced to kill the half dead ones. Hellhounds drop a lot of charms, well worth picking up. And for slayer, apparently most people don't realize that the XP is split 50\50 between the person who dealt the most damage and the person who hit the last hit, effectively halving the slayer XP of those ranging who leave them nearly dead :roll: Hellhound tasks can be hell (no pun intended) http://www.thebestpageintheuniverse.net/c.cgi?u=puns Someone else reads Maddox!   18. If you want MUCH slower XP and drops, train slayer. If you want to get fast XP at an uncrowded spot, do experiments on a german world - almost no one there, and bronze knives + void make for very fast XP. Their defence is very close to yaks, but the extra hp and MUCH less crowded areas make for higher XP overall at experiments. Robert, slayer has all those properties you mentioned - but you can get all of them together, far faster, with other methods. Slayer will cost you over 212 million in wasted time by the time you hit 99 meleeing - and FAR more then that if you are ranging without a black mask. I personally range with hunter's crossbow and void at armored zombies, but that requires higher range or you hit too many zeros. It gives 100k+ profit\62.3k XP\~15 worth of crimsons per hour, so it makes for some nice training. (Side note: I train range\melee with slayer)

  20. It's supposed to be a tough, scary quest. Jagex does a good job with visuals\music\messages to build the mood. I really liked that quest I think you need more help then a tip.it rants forum can give :-#
  21. Forgot that you can only buy 10k from ge every 4 hours. And those 170k of sticks will make you around 212k of junk, for 42k profit in an hour. Plus the time it takes you to sell that 212k of junk.
  22. I was referring to cannon with slayer, but without it is even stupider and less worth it. Not that I don't see people doing it all the time (even at yaks, where half their time is spent picking up their scattered knives and reloading their cannon). Sadly, the RS population is, on average, underage, unintelligent, and uninformed. The three 'un's of runescape. Sigh.
  23. Calm down ray. The whole sticks thing is just turning into a disnformation spread. The facts about Trading Sticks: Your junk costs 3/4ths of what it is worth (IE. 1m junk takes 750k cash for trading sticks). You can't make junk that fast (Less then 2m, or 500k 'made' per hour). 3rd. You can only buy trading sticks at 10k per 4 hours, and very few people sell. Terrible method for making junk - your making way less then you would at a decent place like Avansies.
  24. Mine is +75, and I do fine. @Robert - I don't bring one. Stand south of the fountain; the avansies have a weird system, most of them will attack you once then ignore you once you kill them, EXCEPT for the 69\89 near the fountan. Standing just south of it keeps the 69 from attacking you, and you can kill the 89\71 without being attacked by more then one. In the off chance you do, flip on range pray until one of them dies. Sara\zammy items are REQUIRED, though - hence the unholy book and sara stole. Instant death. Don't do that if you like your void or ranger boots.
