Tip.it Clan Chat - Needs Fixing
Yeah, I went in last night and saw your name. Not a big fan, seems like a waste of time to me. It has a lot of issues, not the least being that the average age of the CC users appears to be below 13 :|

AGS Sucks
Who would bring an AGS on 'easier slayer tasks'? Overall, your probably slowing down your XP, to say nothing of making a lot more clicking for yourself. SGS, on the other hand, can be used for, say, infinity +5% strength pray, that provides a tangable benefit with a minimum of work. And PVP, SGS is better. That was kind of the point of my post. Unless you count eating, which is only done in BH, where very few people actually dual with AGS. For places like Fight Pits, SGS carries the day.

Charms! :O
See what I've been saying about slayer, Ray? This post pretty much represents the general idea of slayer :| Anywayyyy, I know you won't like this suggestion, but if you make over 192k an hour, bursting rock lobsters IS better. Yeah, you will need to make some money, but the magic and hp XP is unreal. And it is the best way, in terms of total time (time to earn money for bursts + actual bursting). That failing, you could do dust devils, I guess... Or *ugh* slayer, its really a veeeery distant third, though. Train your combat at DT skeles and do waterfiends if you really don't like lobsters :-#

Only because the malware was programed to change IEs homepage instead of Firefox's - get a decent anti malware program, and no worries.

GE merchanting
HINT: Buy low, sell high. You will make far more then trying to guess which items will go up. Like the above poster said, though, no one is going to reveal their specific methods\items.

100k+ xp / h Combat training!
It looks decent, but there is no way it is 100k xp/h. Without a summon I don't even get that at Zombie Monkies, at 95\98 stats. And the lack of a summomn is a big turn off - I get 12-15k XP\hour with geyser titan at Zombie monkies.

Windows Xp looks like a Windows 98!
You wouldn't happen to be booting into safe mode, would you?

Try it again, using a tool like vLite to strip out unneeded stuff. I got my complete Vista install to under 2 GB, with everything running how I wanted it. Use IE to play Rune, though - I have problems with RS and FF too. IE is unsafe, and when i had virus Firefox blocked most while IE didn't do a thing. So i don't feel safe with it to be honest. I think you can trust it on runescape.com :-)

"Camping fails"
viewtopic.php?f=66&t=764352 Post Edited by Shazarabbit. Appreciate the link, but the following was not acceptable. Post Edited by BloodArgon. But it was just three stars? OT : Camp all you want. They will say "slay like a man" with 3 whips and 150k xp, and you have 9 whips and 500k xp. What are you smoking? I literally calced it and its 450k+ an hour. Actually, if you do it right with war tortoise, piety, super sets, maxed strength bonus, near maxed stats, careful concentration and timing, lots of practice, and no randoms, its roughly 672k per hour. Plus around 140k (bursting + time) worth of charms. I love green drags; if I ever feel the need for money, I'll spend even more time there. Oh, and the XP is around 40k an hour. Yeah, have fun at Abyssals. I almost feel sorry for slayer fans, they miss out on so much :-#

Slayer Sucks
Well newsflash #2! You could get more XP, earn more charms, earn more GP blah blah blah with those three... in FAR less time then it would take to do it with slayer. And that's assuming you want\need all those things; I personally could care less about the money, I've got millions rotting away in the bank without a use. I have every item I want; I don't feel like training any expensive skills. Any day to day expenses are covered with GE merching, battlestaffs, and MTK. So for ME, it goes something like this: 1 hr of slayer = 50k melee XP 1 hr of monkies = 110k melee XP. Yeah, 'nuf said. I would like to point out, however, that you can get more money, more charms, and more XP, TOGETHER in LESS time then it would take to get them with slayer. That seems to be a point that many people are confused on. You are wasting XP, GP, and charms by doing slayer. It already has, if you took the time to read through the replys Yes, that's a very valid point. I did address that in my original post, though - this game is about fun. If you find slayer fun, go right ahead and train it. I'm pointing out, however, that doing so results in much less XP, GP, and charms, collectively. Which many people apparently don't realize :wall: But if you like it, TRAIN IT. For all I know, Jagex could come out with some level 95 slayer monster that drops some crazy weapon worth millions, just to spite me. You never know, train it if you like it.

AGS Sucks
SGS is used in hardcore slaying, with the effect of guthans and bunyip, 99 doesnt seem hard at all. Now, if you like the sgs more than ags, why the [bleep] are you ranting about slayer, when sgs comes in perfect with it? Ags is only good at bosses and dueling/pvp games. Sgs is teh win in everything else. Anyone with a decent brain and can do the math knows it. P.S. Personal experiences are people who have hit me with sgs have more often higher, just not as high, making it more accurate, in my opinion. See, people THINK that is better for PVP, even non eating, which 95% of Godsword PVP is about - I really don't see many AGSes in BH besides the spec, run variety. Oh, and just because I like an item that happens to be good for slayer doesn't mean I can't dislike slayer #-o

AGS Sucks
I knew the argument would come up, and I agree. AGS IS fun; the animation is great, its a well known and respected godsword, and the KO ability is huge. The problem is, each special is really only increasing your hit by 8 on average, with maxed strength bonus - and if you hit 70 with spec, you would have hit 56 normally anyway. It is fun, though. Can't deny that. Well, if you're going to want lots of damage fast, 70 would be better than 56, wouldn't it? I'd think that's where it's use comes in. But instead of hitting 13 extra, you could be healing 26 - which is better, unless your opponent hits twice as fast as you.

Bad Connection
Possibly, but a lot depends on his OS. If it's a pirated version, your not receiving updates, and an old un-updated version of XP can have problems with wireless networking. Besides, your running a huge security risk. I would just pay for XP - or else try reinstalling vista and see if it solves your problem. I'll have more on this later; I have to go now.

Slayer Sucks
Your lazy. You got 70 cooking with lobsters. I got it with shrimps. Therefore I am better then you, because I am using a less efficient training method. The fact that you chose to say that my training method has some disadvantages means that your post is complete garbage just because shrimps aren't a fast leveler. Seriously, think about what you are saying. Your saying that my post is 'garbage' and that I'm 'lazy' for pointing out that slayer is much worse combat xp then other training methods.

Slayer Sucks
Thank you for at least taking time to skim my post. Respected, because it is hard to train. As I said in the third sentence of my first post. Except that 99 is virtually useless. And getting 99 proves nothing but that you chose the slow, unprofitable, hard way to train, with no rewards or benefits except being funner. Nothing wrong with that, but its like waving a banner around saying 'I got 99 cooking with shrimps! My 99 is more respectable then your 99 because it took longer and required more clicking!'.
-
Slayer Sucks
And this is you. :twss: (Sorry, it had to be done) That's not the greatest argument, though - your saying you don't look into it that deep, you just 'know' its good? Padding the post count is generally looked down upon.
-
Slayer Sucks
Obviously you haven't; not only have I addressed every single point you've brought up so far, your post is lacking something. I'll rehash it, since you apparently can't be bothered to read it. Slayer results in very poor and EXPENSIVE combat XP, sacrificing a huge amount of time and money to train a skill with absolutely no benefits besides being able to kill different monsters. A level 99 slayer has virtually no advantages over a level 55 slayer. If you find it fun, then great - its your choice; this is a game, designed for fun. Just know that you would be getting far better XP and more drops if you chose to train with other methods.

Please, sir, I implore you. Read my post! You'll find it full of useful information.

Slayer Sucks
Would you mind reading my post? 10 hours of slayer = 350k range XP, 400k profit 10 hours of 5 Spiders + 5 GWD = 350k range XP, 5m profit 10 hours of 9 spiders + 1 GWD = 600k range XP, 1m profit 10 hours of 9 spiders + 1 Avansie = 640k range XP, 400k profit That's my point.

Slayer Sucks
Obviously you have not read my post, your post is missing something, AND I've already addressed your point. I was pointing that you can get much better XP then turoths at other places. Ray pointed out that you don't earn money. I showed that you can use the time saved to earn much more money then you would at turoths using other methods, like GWD. You jumped in and said that you don't receive XP while earning money :wall:

One thing you might be able to do is reserve 15% or so of network bandwidth for your lappy - this would mean you always have a small amount available for RS. This would, obviously, slow down the other computers on your network slightly, but it would probably be worth it. I can't give specific instructions, but you should be able to do something like that with your router's configuration. That failing, you could use a network management tool to do it - or try and download an open source version of your router's firmware that would have extra features allowing you to do it. What is the exact name and model of your wireless router?
-
Slayer Sucks
How much did you make an hour? Because I can make at least 500k an hour with reliable money making methods, and well over 1m an hour at GWD.
-
Slayer Sucks
Yes, why? I know they are one of the better tasks for range, and slow and annoying for melee.
-
Slayer Sucks
See, I was trying to drive home a point. Averages, not specific things, are what count. Sure, you got 150k XP from killing turoths, but in what time? If your using halfway decent ammo for slayer, your not making a profit on most slayer monsters, making any profit very low, if not downright nonexistent. Some monsters do profit; but the AVERAGE is what counts. Getting good melee XP on a Bloodveild task is nice, but that doesn't mean your always going to get that XP. It's the average that can be used for comparison. And I've compared slayer to other methods of training combat AND making money my first post. Charms were addressed on the first page. Saying you got X amount of XP without giving the timeframe is meaningless. I'm getting 65k XP an hour from spiders as we speak; I got around 2k XP while typing this post. And I'm reading PCWorld magazine between postings; if I had to pay a lot of attention I wouldn't even be on RS right now. If I can pay attention, then I do chinchompas - that's a lot less boring then standing there attacking a single monster, and as proved earlier, is even better then spiders if you make over 140k per hour. No, but I'm getting over double the XP I would from slayer. I can then use the remaining time to make 10-20x the money I would have made training with slayer.
