I'm a Socialist, how about you?
That test is too black&white for my taste... Here's just few examples: The rich are too highly taxed. * Taxed where and how? That doesn't take make any difference for stable tax percent and progressive taxing, neither it takes the country (+it's average tax rate) into it. Schools should not make classroom attendance compulsory. * This doesn't make any difference between the American private school system and nordic public school system, neither it cares about the level of education. There's just few to take as an example. I wouldn't take this kind of tests too seriously, but anyways did it and got this: our political compass Economic Left/Right: -1.12 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.41

Rares back in the old days
yeah well i never liked the pink hat thats why i never attempted to get one. I remember people always talkin about chewy and gasheart. gasheart didn't have as many hats as people thought unless she sold em around the time of the dupe. She was actually the one that sold me my white back on classic He sold most of his hats the same day it happened: he smelled how there was something fishy going on and sold majority of his hats. He had many of them and funded 99 smith after selling them, but unlike Chewy, he collected them pretty equally and merchanted while Chewy only collected pinks. Btw here's his bank during the journey to 99 smith AFTER selling the party hats....

Rares back in the old days
yep blue was one 2nd most expensive if i remember correctly simply bc i bought all hats except blue and pink.. Pink simply because its ugly and blue bc i didn't have the cash atm. Also the fact that Chewy Shoe had collected MANY pinks away from the markets affected to their supply and thus to their price.

Addition to Mining Guild - 60+ Support [Pics Added]
Not really. There's already 4 non-wildy rune rocks and still the wildy spot is the most used one as most people got access to it and it's still faster place for a miner than hero guild for example. People mine runite at places where they can get it fastest. A new non-wildy rune rock wouldn't change the fact that wildy was the most used one, but it would make it more minable during peak hours. Also the fact that due high alch prices, rune ores really can't go any lower than they currently are. This means that rune item prices wouldn't change and rune ore prices would stay at the same. The normal rule of icreased supply affecting to the prices doesn't work here because of high alching. Personally I'd add max 1 rune ore there as after all it would be the only non-wildy spot which doesn't require any quests. Extra addy rocks would be more than welcome tho.

Case Blackwater and human rights
At last sunday at least 8 bystanders, civilians and a policeman were killed in an armed fight. US sources are saying they shot for selfdefence, Iraqian sources said that they randomly shot towards civilians. Now Iraqian authorities have ordered Blackwater to pull out their men and leave the country while US is arguing against it. Blackwater is one of the few private security companies working in Iraq and their men aren't labeled to be either soldiers nor civilians. They also got a full immunity which means none of their men will be charged for this accidents where almost 10 bystanders lost their lives, nor did the other Blackwater man who was drunk and shot an Iraqian bodyguard to death last Christmas. One principle of democracy is everyone's equal when it comes to law. However this kind of immunity contracts don't give too good sign of democracy to a nation where it is being brought with guns. Same kinda happened in Russia after the collapse of USSR: with democracy they got poverty, thus Putin's authoritarian way to rule is widely accepted as it brings back wealth. I personally see this as a disgrace to western world and reminds of the policies in fascist&socialist countries. These private security companies aren't at least directly working for US goverment, but to be there they need a permission from them and for locals they aren't just another company, they are the same stuff as normal soldiers We've already had too many posts about the war in Iraq itself, so let's leave it out in this discussion. I'd be more interested to hear do you accept the way how private security companies are allowed to work in foreign countries, can they be justified and are they even good for the "public goals" in Iraq?

Rares back in the old days
Yeah...well it is an obscure thing to remember. Was there a lesser in the mages tower before Karamja was released? I could swear there was some other monster than a lesser demon in a cage up there, probably a dark wizard, black knight or something.

What just happened? (new random event???)
You know you haven't farmed enough when.... :-w

Were the Atomic Attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki Justified?
Justified or not, it's done and only thing we should do is not to argue was it right or wrong but play our cards right so we don't have to see it happening again.
-
Rares back in the old days
If I remember right, all lessers were introduced same time or after karamja.

Rares back in the old days
Only chain, legs/skirt and long. Rune medium was released earlier same time as Karamja&lesser demons came. However their demand rose a lot when other pieces of runite were introduced.

Where Have All the Generous People Gone too?
In my eyes the sad part here isn't that you didn't get what you asked for. If you ask me, the sad part is that someone still tries to beg for free stuff and after failing at it he decides to post it in public. There's now far too many beggars so it's just impossible to supply everyone with their needs. Also when you feed them with free stuff, it gives them a signal that it is ok to bug people in order to get what they want. The only thing I really give some value in this game is respect. It contains both respect towards other players and self respect. Begging fails at both of those. First of all it shows to another player that his efford and time is worth nothing. Second, it shows that you aren't cabable of doing even a simple task yourself.

Rares back in the old days
Yea rune mining was sick money back in then. I was one of the first 100/200 rune miners in whole game and when rune ores were ~30k per, it was crazy money. It was pretty godlike feeling when you could actually hire bodyguards for pretty minimal cost to yourself, yet so high that you didn't need to ask people to come, they asked you if they could come. Personally I'd say that nothing has been as good money as rsc rune mining was. Of course whips were great too, but due the rising rare prices, whips didn't make you a godlike person. In rsc (2002-03) with rune mining you could get anything you wanted, even the most valuable items, in basicaly no time. Now getting enough money for the most valuable items by skills is pain the backwindow. However everyone should remember here that 85+ mining at the best days was something comparable to 91 rc in these days when we look at the work put on it and so few actually had it that it's pointless to talk at a general level how easy money making was. I personally don't see a reason why dirty rich people shouldn't invest on rares. It's an easy way for them to gain money during years and it's impossible to predict how much money will we need in future to hold up with the 99 skills we want, the items we want and so on. Personally I'd immediately buy a 3rd phat if I could without selling any of my current rares.

Rares back in the old days
I wouldn't use stocks as an example here: stock prices can crash and their way in a long run is impossible to predict. However phats will always go up in price in a long run.

Eventually they'll run out.
RSC is still played by few survivors, back in 2001-04 people played even tho updates didn't come too often. Of course the current speed attracts many people, but saying that stopping update would drive people away is false. It would drive some off, but I assume at least 10-20% would still stay IF they kept at least some kind of customer support and allowed still registering to the game. I agree with the first part, there's too many things that can be updated to actually run out of ideas. A new area, monster or quest isn't a too big deal and different varieties on them are endless. I don't agree on the hp part, tho. How is it a limit that people can get one hit? The max hit of players could easily in my eyes go over 99, seeing as we got monster with over 300 hp. Also why would hp need any updates? Pkin can be enjoyable even with current hp, Jad has shown that monsters can nearly 1hit people and still be killable and so on. The 99 limit on hp is definately not a problem in my eyes. No1 would just close a company that makes multimillion profit every year and is still growing. However selling Jagex or Runescape wouldn't be impossible. When RS is being closed, it is when it isn't worth investing anymore, as long as it can make money, it won't be closed by anyone.

Rares back in the old days
In my eyes 230m in RS2 is harder than 10m in rsc was unless we talk about the very first years of rsc. If you had the right skills (*cought* rune mining *cought*) 10 mils was pretty much nothing. I personally had no problems making 10m/week with my 85+mining but now in rs2 I won't be able to make 230m/month without selling my items. My point here is that if we don't count in dueling, making 230m now is a lot harder than 10m in rsc. However it is true that the wealth of an average player has rosen a lot and money is a lot easier to make. One good example of how easy making money with certain levels is the way how I got my rune square, kite and 2hander when they were somewhat available for public trading: I personally paid 1.6m for my first 2hander and didn't need to even sell any of my dear items to get it. So, you're calling me stupid as I spent 98m for a purple phat around 15 months ago? Sorry bro, I made there over 40m profit and got myself one status item more. Party hats show that their carrier is a rich person, but they also are a good investment: in a long run their value rises. There's currently a lot more dirty rich people and bigger community than back in those days. When the number of status items could be counted with 10 fingers and people who could afford them were around 40-50, of course it was a big deal to own something. Now there's people who are so ridicilously rich that people with "only" 230m are nothing. If we assume that mining (coal/hour) is same speed as in rsc, 50k coal in RSC was easier to get than 1.15m in rs: even tho it takes time to cert the coal and it's dirty boring, it would still be faster to mine 50k and cert them than 1.15m and not to cert them.

The other side to Russia
I personally wouldn't worry about developing a new type of a superweapon, I'm worried about the situation that drives countries like USA and Russia to strenghten their militaries like this. The safest and cheapest point for both sides would be to decrease their WMD's, not increase or even create them. Also Iran and NK aren't a real threat here. They might start or cause a war, but that won't be a risk for this planet. NK got really primitive nukes still and no real missiles to send them all around this place and Iran is in pretty much the same stage. Maybe stabilized if you mean that the opposition is silenced and the current power is tightly in one hands. However Russia's growth itself goes in an unhealthy way. That's a logical thing to do. The missile shield shouldn't be build to the middle/eastern Europe in a first place. Remember here that Putin was actually ready to fund around 50% of the shield if it's placed in a location where it isn't a real threat to Russia. The flights were cancelled as they didn't have money. Currently as they are getting more money, stuff like this could be relaunched. There's no solid proof that Russian goverment was behind it and just because you feel like Putin knows more than he says, it doesn't help here at all. Gotta agree with this one. This is because Russia is getting a power monopoly to many countries and might be a real threat in future if relationships start to go in a direction they are going. However you gotta remember that Georgia wasn't paying a fair price for it and actually stole some of it. Gas pipes aren't charity.

What defines a true veteran?
RSC went to the downhill around the same time when Jagex started to build RS2 and then it just started to die slowly when it was released. If you haven't played it since at least from year 2003, you got no idea what the real RSC was. In my eyes RSC plays a pretty darn big role when we're talking about veterans. I personally don't see how that has anything to do with being a veteran. There's just too many short and pointless quests which only show that you can read a walkthrough and got few hours of spare time to do something that really isn't a big deal.

Most Famous RS People
All these "lists" are so full of mistakes that it's funny... lead = Lead who? RSN Lead from Tip.IT? Zonghui - top rank player, or good pker dont remember but i remember hearing his name often. = First one ever to get 99 hp whitemagem - first to 99 mage = False. Bluerose13x was the first one to 99 magic. Whitemagem wasn't even in top 35 when Blue already had hers. Zonghui - first 99 str/hp? - from hawaii = As much from Hawaii as Vladimir Putin. Bluerose - first 99 miner = She never got 99 mining, only to 82 actually. Ashley - A S H L E Y? old school player. = Two totally different persons from different countries. Only real thing they shared was similar names. Gasheart - lol skiller = He made his name by merchanting. After a long period of merchanting he went for 99 smith and magic, but otherwise his skills weren't impressive at all. S A X - compitition for zez = At what part? S A X was known for melee training while Zez was allrounder. That's like saying Halw Gnun and Larryr are competiting with each other. tks - skiller. LCP's brother? = She's a female so not a brother. I also assume they weren't related to each other as they lived in totally different continents. lilyuffie88 - rs2 product. = This one was pretty darn funny. 99 Prayer before ecto should give some idea how bad rs2 product she is. Not to mention that when she got 99 pray, the 2nd had 96. When she got 99 prayer, there was a total of 8 players who had 93+ pray which was needed for max combat in RSC.

Disney bans metal acts from Anaheim HOB.
Phyi, that's nothing new that songs/bands get banned... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horst-Wessel-Lied http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impaled_Nazarene <- albums banned in multiple European countries+not allowed to perform live shows at least in Greece. The list goes on. Music has been banned, will be banned and will be listened even if it's banned. Probably I should use my Impaled Nazarene T-shirt tomorrow at school... O:)

The other side to Russia
I find that comment pretty darn funny. Both Russia and USA got enough nukes to destroy this plane x times where x is a number bigger than 1. Yes, this bomb has the ability for mass destruction, but so does around 10k of your bombs. This is just one new thing in the heating Russia vs USA action. USA already launched their plans of the missile shield to the eastern/middle Europe and like I predicted, Russia didn't just watch it happen. It would have been a miracle if they didn't do anything for their military. I'd like to hear what's the point there? Strategically important place? Oil? Both?

Remembering 9/11 - LOCK PLEASE!!
Easily can: The communism = terrorism doesn't mean that they'd be similar, it means they both fill the same hole. During the cold war, communism was THE bad thing and many things were explained as a must because of it. Now terrorism has replaced that.

The end of the Internet!
How would that cause any real problems? :? We already got stuff which can only be accessed if you pay. For example a lot of XXX material is protected with passwords, even tho during this p2p domination it's sometimes hard to remember. Nothing new at that: if something important or wanted goes for "pay only" mode, it'll either be leeched or free alternatives will grow. Internet itself is far too important for today's society to be abandoned and I don't just mean us, lifeless nerds. Many companies are really tightly tied to the internet and without it, they would suffer. Many advertisers have found a new and cost efficent place from the net. Some countries, such as Iceland, are getting a lot wealthier because of their Internet possibilities: now the location of your place isn't the most important thing while running a company if your company is specialised for the right thing. Probably even the US goverment realise that if they managed to take down the Internet, it would also affect to them. The current western society is so depended on the internet that taking it down would be economically horrible. Not to mention us nolifers suffering and rioting.

Best death metal band? (Metal heads only!)
What are you talking about? :P You're saying underground death metal and black metal bands while listing mainstream pop bands.
