  1. Well there's your problem... You forgot to chant the magic words, do the rain dance, and sacrifice a firstborn calf.
  2. I don't see how more space really matters to autoers. It's not like their bank has anything but spare equipment, random event clothing, and a handful of spaces for whatever they auto. They probably use like 20 spaces max, most of it just from clothing.
  3. I personally don't mind the assist button, but I do mind that it covers extraction skills. It really shouldn't because there is no trust trading involved at all with that. And extraction skills seem to be the only thing I see noobs begging to be assisted in.
  4. I support! I just made a new account, and it got owned at 10 combat at lesser demons!
  5. It's people like them that make me wish I had that one, single superpower... The ability to hurt people over long distances through the computer, or the power to appear next to them with a baseball bat.
  6. What I normally do is stockpile a few hundred of these "rare" items. Then I go up to them, show the items, and say that I must be "teh uber rich."
  7. How does 70 FM differ from 99 FM? You're still going to get the same amount of heat out of the same log. And why should your Firemaking skill determine your ability of cooking, btw...? I think that was sorta the point...
  8. What you mean to say is, "Not including the rarest skillcape, the rarest skillcape is construction"? Yeah, and not including every item in the game except for ashes, ashes are the rarest item in the game as well.
  9. Tryto beat me to it. You have to be within 20 squares to assist. And if any equipment is being loaned, that kinda ignores the entire existence of the assist system -.- I have it olive colored because I find reading huge amounts of black text harder to read. And what I was saying about the huge difference was this. Assisting someone uses up the time of both people on 1 task. But since you're pretty much getting the resources and giving them away, what you can do is you can get the resources while your friend does something else. So then you're using your time more efficiently.
  10. Read the ENTIRE thread. I never once asked for you to be able to do stuff while assisting. If someone wants to use your WC skill, why don't you just cut them yourself then give it to them? That's how it used to be done. The Assist System was made for preventing trust trades, not to change how something was already done, as well as lead to an increase in beggars. I do understand it's like you are cutting the logs. And yes, it does make a difference. If you were to assist someone with cutting magics, while you do it yourself, your friend can go off and do a quest, then when he gets back, you can give the logs to him. Instead of using up the time on 1 task, you can use up the time on 2. That example alone makes the Assist System for EXTRACTING skills obsolete. I do know about the ignore button, and all that, but if getting rid of beggars as well as an unnecessary waste of time, they should do it. Then, you can just have random people ask you to give them free stuff like it used to be. Use the Font Colour when posting.
  11. They also do no good. It's increased the amount of beggars (for skills not items.) In fact, I can't stay in Catherby without hearing people beg high levels for skills. Whenever I hear someone asking for assistance in an extracting skill, this is what they say: Low: I need assistance in fishing sharks! And this is what I hear: Low: Fish some sharks, then give them to me for free! If you were walking past Catherby a week ago, you would've stopped and called that guy a noob. And like I asked how does the Assist System prevent Trust Trades with extraction skills?!
  12. Okay listen very closely. What you're suggesting is having 2 accounts multi-log for the entire time it takes to get the resources. Why not just use your main, get the resources, then multi-log to trade it to your pker? But what if they aren't doing it for the cash, they just want raw sharks? That doesn't make any sense, whatsoever. EDIT: I don't like discussing multi-logging because it is off topic as well as against the rules, so try to end this quick.
  13. Btw, you still haven't explained why they should stay. You just said some ways people could abuse them.
  14. You can multi-log, then trade instead of drop trading. That way, you're not running 2 accounts for the entire time, and just for 30 seconds for a trade.
  15. See, what you don't realize is that that was possible before. People would use their main and drop trade or multi-log then trade. In fact, it'd be easier to just use your main to get the items first, then multi-log for a trade instead of multi-logging the entire time. Extraction Skills are essentially someone getting an item and giving it away to the person you're assisting.
  16. Why would people multi-log to train their main, when they can just use their main to train their main? Kinda pointless to use one of your account to train another of your accounts.
  17. Crafting is a Processing skill, not an Extracting one (the one I want you to decide on to keep or not).
  18. Oh yeah, and please explain your reasoning.
  19. Just so everyone is clear and to help prevent people from posting stupid replies without reading the thread: I Fully Know and Understand the Assist System! Wait, one more thing to add to prevent stupid replies: Read the Whole Dang Thread!!! Ok, moving on... We all (or most) know that the Assist System was an update to help prevent Trust-Trades. For those who do not know what a TT (going to call it that from now on) is, I'll explain it. A TT is where you give an item to someone, so that they can do something to it that you are unable to do. After they finish, they then give the final product to you. Example: You need someone to cut your Uncut Diamond. You find someone with the Crafting level to do so and then give them your Uncut. Then that person cuts the Diamond and gives it back. Since many people were getting scammed this way (the "assister" would take the item and run off with it) Jagex released the Assist System. What it does is it works just like a TT, but without the Trade. Example: Just like the above example, you need your diamond cut. So you find someone with the Crafting level and then Request Assistance. That person then 'loans' his skill to you, so you can cut your own diamond, while he still gets the xp. This prevents scammers from taking your Diamond and running off with it, because it'll be in your possession the entire time. I'll remind you that the AS (going to call it that from now on as well) was used to prevent TT's. But I ask you, why does it also affect Extraction Skills? To clarify, an Extraction Skill is a skill that is used to obtain, or extract, a raw material. Following is a list of all the Extraction skills: ~ Fishing ~ Hunter ~ Mining ~ Woodcutting Since we're here now, I'll also explain Processing Skills A Processing Skill does exactly what the name suggests. It processes. More specifically, raw materials and a few other products. The following is a list of the Processing Skills that the AS covers: ~ Crafting ~ RuneCrafting ~ Fletching ~ Construction ~ Magic ~ Smithing ~ Cooking ~ Herblore Farming is a little bit of both Extraction and Processing. So what I want to know, is why does the AS affect Extracting Skills? The AS was created to prevent TT's for PROCESSING Skill services! I don't know how a Trust-Trade can arise from an Extraction Skill, as nobody is at risk of being scammed. So, my question to you, who has been patient enough to read all of this, is should we get rid of Extraction Skills being usable with the Assist System? The AS is there for Trust-Trades, something that cannot arise from Extraction Skills. I fully support the Assist System 100% even though I will not use it very often. Pros * First and foremost, it will end all those BEGGARS! Most people are complaining about this update because of the amount of beggars that have spawned because of it. *Seeing as how Assisting with EXTRACTING skills is essentially the same thing as giving out free items, why not get rid of Assisting with those skills? That way, while you're getting the free items for someone, the person you're assisting can do something else. Ex. If someone wanted you to assist a friend to get 1k willow, you can cut the 1k willow yourself (which is pretty much what you're doing with Assisting) while your friend is off doing something else. Cons * All those beggars would complain about it being taken away Feel free to post any Pros & Cons, or other insights you would like to share. Also, it'd be helpful if you explained your decision. This is the Debate Forum, after all.
  20. When you borrow a skill and use it, it's the equivalent of the assister getting the item and giving it to you for free! Get that through your heads! It's not a level 3 getting high leveled items, it's a high level person getting high level items and giving it to the level 3!
  21. It wasn't an update to get you xp by loaning skills! It's an update to prevent scamming by trust-trade services!
  22. Dude, listen! It doesn't matter if that person worked hard for his 99. He's still technically going to the one smithing. Would you rather give your ores to someone you don't know and have them smith it, and possible run off with it?
