  1. LMAO! I can totally see this funny little movie going on in my head. I woke up and realized I was poisoned. There, casting a shadow on my face was this strange, little man. "Do you need anti-poison? I can sell you some," he says. I jump up, push him away, and begin to run to the store. I search my backpack for some of my bread to help stave off the poison for a bit longer. When I look up, standing in front of me is that scary man, his face masked in darkness. He spoke out to me in a raspy voice. "I want your stuff...." Kind of like some sorta horror-stalker flick.
  2. YouTube used to get censored for a while, but now it doesn't. MySpace also used to NOT be censored. I remember, cause I used to tell Chuck Norris jokes about it.
  3. Oh yeah, I was also collecting axe handles and heads. But then they were removed....
  4. Yeah, really. If someone can afford the hundreds of thousands of gold it takes to buy a spinach roll at those scammer prices, they're probably experienced enough to know that they're not rare. I doubt anyone was being scammed at all, more of just people spamming the banks trying to sell the rolls.
  5. Wow, I was about to abuse him with the 'ol silver tongue, but I think he's taken enough of a pummeling from everyone else. He says he's not breaking even. You say he's paying money for the xp. He says you're supposed to make money off skills, not lose it. You backhand him with Prayer. Adding Construction would've been overkill. While I agree that I'd rather break even on training skills or, even better, make money off of it, you shouldn't be complaining that you're losing money when training a skill.
  6. I thought if they're in your ignore list, they can't join your chat. So, while you may not be able to ban them cause they leave before you are able to, just add them to your ignore list and they can't join.
  7. I think people who run deserved to get killed. But anyways, if your arrows in the wildy would've killed them, then why should them just getting outside of it make them immune? The moment you attacked them, they were in the wilderness meaning you would've killed them in it.
  8. You know what I hate? People who list their pet peeves.
  9. The internet: A place where the men are men, the women are men, and 13 year old girls are FBI agents.
  10. Also another thing to add to your list. You get paired with people with a rank close to you. One flaw: People can lose constantly to get a low rank, then beat a tourney filled with low levels. Everytime I've joined a tourney, I'm getting paired with level 110+ for the first round. Why? Because they spent 15k to lose several rounds to lower their rank just so they can join a low level tourney, get paired with low ranks and win 120k.
  11. Just take off the stake cap and all will be good, with the exception of a lot of little tweaks to the tourney which sucks at the moment.
  12. 1) Simplicity Hm, let's see... I have two ways of communicating with my computer. A mouse and a keyboard. And you're expecting it to have less clicking? Please tell me what MMO doesn't involve clicking on a monster to kill it. Would you prefer if it involved a joystick? 2) Stupidity You're complaining about Jagex untrading items that were used to scam. So smart of you. It was so "fun" to learn what the rare items were, I almost went hysterical with joy when I learned spinach rolls weren't rare. Turn off the damned warning system then. The Wilderness is supposed to be dangerous, not a place filled with scammers. The ditch wasn't put there to not be accidentally killed, it was put there to not be accidentally killed while being scammed. 3) Ignorance This is more about ranting about the idiots at the RSOF. Jagex can't control that. Do you expect Jagex to run background checks to make sure people aren't lying when they say they're over 13? When you see immature players, it's not Jagex who is at fault. 4) Noobs So RuneScape is designed for little kids all because they don't have a place for official clan wars? Makes sense. And bring back the 3 hit system for PKing? Weren't you complaining about how easy the game is, and that it should be harder? A majority of your rant is about idiotic players that play in RuneScape. I don't see any examples that say RuneScape is now being designed for idiotic players with the exception of the warning system.

And, so then the macroers just stop cutting that "special" yew tree... Or newbs start cutting that tree and get banned. That suggestion fails.
  14. I think that maybe a smithing guild can be added, but it needs 85 mining and 70 smithing to get in. Then the smithing guild can have the rare rocks (Adamantite and Runite) while the mining guild has all the coal. Maybe throw in some more mithril at the mining guild too... As for updates for mining, there's really not much to be added but new locations. I'm not really for the dragon pickaxe, because all dragon items came from a place of eternal war and a pickaxe isn't much of a weapon of war and more of a tool, while the dragon axe is. Dragon ore shouldn't be added either because any dragon ore exists on another plain of existence, the place where the Mahjarrat come from.
  15. Wow, I hope that's sarcasm. I think the last time F2P actually got something was the Party Room and they didn't even ask for it.
  16. While the wolpertinger was in WoW, just because RuneScape may implement it doesn't mean it's mimicking WoW, in my opinion. It's a mythical creature. It's like saying if RuneScape uses dragons, then its copying some other game.
  17. Hm, I read that but didn't feel like putting it up since it's been put back in the light in the recent news articles and not so hidden. Anyways, I'll post it up. Thanks.
  18. Thanks for that, Mr. Obvious. I'm talking about lost and forgotten or hidden references to the summoning skill.
  19. I consider myself a scholar on the history of RuneScape and its lores. So when this Summoning Skill is announced, I proceeded to dig up some clues about it, both in the past and present. I have many examples to post, but seeing as how I'm still digging through pages of information, I'll be adding even more secrets to this thread. If you discover anything you wish to add, I will post it with credit being given to the discoverer. Clues, Secrets, and Forgotten Stuff I'll start off with what I've discovered first. For the Behind the Scenes - November 2007 article, the article's icon for the frontpage was a creatures that looked like a Jackalope. In the first Dev Diary for Summoning, it mentions Wolpertingers. A wolpertinger is almost the same thing as a jackalope. For the Dev Diary's icon, there is a blue and white wolf. It is called a spirit wolf. In the recent summoning wallpaper, it has pictures of the spirit wolf as well as the wolpertinger. On the BTS - Dec. '07, there was this pic on the frontpage The name of that is a Dread Fowl. The first mention of this was in the Chaos Elemental's bulletinboard as the acronym 'Add Flower.' A minotaur pic taken from the front page. Credit for the wolpertinger pic goes to Mr Invisable Credit for the minotaur pic goes to Fastknight20 -------------------------------------------------- While looking through the third letter to the Chaos Elemental, he mentions this little line: "Seasons pass for animal lores, magical chores" Animal Lore was the precursor to Summoning. -------------------------------------------------- After the Tower of Life quest, you can "summon" creatures to fight. After the quest came out, Mod Ash stated on the forums that this was not summoning and that it was more of a test to see how the servers would handle summoning. He also stated that there was more to come in this area. -------------------------------------------------- Announced in the Behind the Scenes - March 2004 New features & skills - Summoning spells - summon skeletons, demons, etc...! Credit to Unorclan -------------------------------------------------- If you talk to malignus mortifier he says something about in the near future he might teach us the art of necromancy. Credit to Sohkmj1 -------------------------------------------------- As some of you might know, the Chaos Elemental hints at future updates. In the recent Postbag, he has a whole host of secrets! Shown below is an image of his noticeboard. There are quite a bit of things, some are VERY interesting, but I will only reveal here the ones that might pertain to summoning. - The numbers on the lottery card are 13, 1, 7, 16, 9, 5. If 1 = A, 2 = B, etc. then his is a code that spells out magpie, a type of bird. The numbers below the barcode, spells macaw, another type of bird. - The picture of the whistle is obviously an animal. An animal-whistle. Most likely not a whistle actually made from an animal. Maybe a whistle will be used to summon animals to your side...? That's my guess, at least. - The paper which has the words ROCK RALD is the Varrock Herald newspaper torn in half. Annette Fisher, the writer, is a homonym for 'a net fisher'. The sentences themselves look to be gibberish but hidden amongst the meaningless message the words beaver, raven, hen, ibis, unicorn, locust and lobster are revealed. It will be a very Brave new world in the nib is sharp shun. I corn-fed hello customary slobs terminate a. - The To-Do List is filled with acronyms. The morse code at the end which spells out Gecko. If you find an anagram that is of interest, please post it. Plausible Acronyms - Add Flower (Dread Fowl CONFIRMED! See the Dread Fowl Pic above! Credit to Angelbane) - Spy Marinating [Praying Mantis] - Invite Purl [Vulpine (of or resembling a fox), Lupine (pertaining to or resembling the wolf)] Kind of makes you think about that spirit wolf, doesn't it? -------------------------------------------------- While looking through at the wallpaper, I just noticed something! The picture of the man, guess who he looks like. For those of you who do not know, that man is Tarn Razolor. A necromancer who dwells beneath the Haunted Mine in The Lair of Tarn Razorlor (who woulda guessed he'd be there, eh?) Also, in the wallpaper. There is a pile of strange green rocks. The Postbag mentions something close to this. "As for the 'Eastern Lands' you speak of, I've generally equated them with fairy tales told to impressionable children, but I concede that it is possible that these lands exist. As most of the fairy tales refer to... 'one-legged, one-eyed men of lymestone'..." Most likely a new area with these strange creatures. I believe it will be tied with the Varrock Museum expedition trip. -------------------------------------------------- I recommend EVERYONE who has read my thread to head on over to this one. Summoning - Pictures (HUGE PROOF | PICTURES ARE 99% REAL) http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=718 ... sc&start=0 Are You Ready For Summoning? - A thread by Kingryanj http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=5607831#5607831 -------------------------------------------------- Feel free to add your own comments or discoveries.
  20. Another thing I discovered. The third letter that the Chaos Elemental responds to mentions something about animal lore, the precursor to summoning. "Seasons pass for animal lores, magical chores" - Chaos Elemental I've decided to create a thread on all the information I've collected about summoning.
  21. Some new things on the pictures: If you right click the blue wolf and save the image, the name of the image is spiritwolf. And that icon for the development diary I think is the same for all the development diaries. The title of that image is devdiary.
  22. There are a lot of pictures (Look at the Land of the Goblins one) that have nothing to do with their topic. But that one looks like it might be part of a quest, maybe an eclipse or some sort of astronomy quest. Also, the concept artist on the top of the diary has an outline of some monster drawn. And let's not forget the blue and white wolf on the frontpage. There are going to be 4 diaries for the summoning skill, not 1 diary and then 3 diaries on other updates. This is too complex to suddenly just use as a cover for the staking cap. It's like Apple updating iTunes for WIndows Vista only, and when everyone gets pissed they say they'll come out with a new iPod in 2 months.
  23. Farming came out so long ago, Jagex servers can probably handle a new update fairly well *cough-cough* Construction *cough*
