Depends on the make. If you look after it, you shouldn't have any bother. I myself am using a 3~ year old Sony laptop as a desktop replacement. Original battery still works, although only for about 30 mins. Get a good laptop, keep a good laptop.

Nearly hit a little girl the other month who thought she'd be smart by playing traffic witht he innocent looking Peugeot 306. BAD MOVE *polite word*! Think I missed her by about 5 metres. :( Memo to self: Get a faster car.

I can't be bothered arguing the point. Dell make good machines. Only thing is, they're only good when under warranty. I haven't had experience with their customer support as the only Dell machines I've ever fixed were out of said warranty. Sometimes waiting up to 3 months for us to get another computer in for something as simple as taking the power supply. Also you said something about saving $2. When you're manufacturing 100,000 PCs that turns into $200,000. I also bet any money they only make something like 3 or 4% profit on every one of those "cheap" machines. If that. It's in their interest to keep costs down as much as possible. Also if you're going to try and remove a heatsink that's been applied with "Bubblegum" heat pads, heat up the heatsink and it'll come off very easily. Before replacing you'd need to clean the chip with an alcohol based solution too. I recently done the above on my old xbox, I know they can be a pain. In fact it took me about 40 mins to do both the GPU and CPU. :?

You're not being serious are you... Doom I and II are dead man. I'm pretty sure I had both when I got my first PC 11 years ago. :? -
One thing, have you ever tried the backup bios? :) I have, it didn't work and fried my card, I had to boot with a borrowed PCI card and reflash it with yet another XT bios for it to work. The USB floppy drive will only work if your motherboard supports booting from USB devices. Borrow one and try it. Remember to try things out for yourself, you can't break anything unless you actually flash the card with the wrong bios. After you flash it feels like an eternity when it's rebooting doesn't it? Especially on a ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã150+ card. :P

Yeah, get a floppy drive. If your computer supports it you could use a USB drive I suppose. But would it really be worth the hassle? If you don't know what you're doing in the first place, I wouldn't change any instructions you get from someone. I've already done my 9800Pro and made that an XT. In the process I have actually damaged something and certain shades of grey change colours to red and green often. It's annoying, but it's the chance you take. These things are usually irreversable too, so if you don't know what you're doing, I suggest you stop now. :)

The challenge in drinking isn't to get drunk. Anyone can do that. As shown from an old log from #DW one night. <02:35:24> pdul am afria\e dam esremtly drinom <02:35:28> aye phikl yo have to come fur a dirnkn somtims <02:35:30> i can t see <02:35:45> you're blind? <02:35:48> ypui <02:35:55> my etyes aren to0wotkomf <02:35:58> working <02:36:00> ((( <02:36:05> am sensin kiek 15 diffrnrnt scrnneens <02:36:07> rofl <02:36:23> am ipssided]# <02:36:28> m, eoto <02:36:33> didn't think it was possible for anyone to spell everything you write wrong <02:36:38> even for drunkards The challenge is to drink as much as you can handle, have a good time and preferably not puke or make a complete twit of yourself. Easiest way of doing so is to find a drink that you can drink all night and not get wasted on. I tried Beer, wine, shots and vodka. The only one that can keep me pretty well sober is vodka. Drinking it with Red Bull is the best option as it keeps you awake aswell. When you're feeling tired you get drunk faster. Having a good meal before drinking is said to be "chickening out" but that also helps keep you sober longer. Why do people drink? Depends on the person. Some people do it to get drunk and make a twit of themselves. Some people do it to get drunk, to start fights. Some people do it to get drunk and pick up women. (Usually less attractive than their normal standard...) Some people do it to socialise, in Scotland and England at least it's a major socialising event. You go to the pub to talk with friends etc. Some people do it as a challenge not to get drunk. I'm the last and second last of those options. :)

Looks like a normal keyboard with a little LCD screen and some extra keys. Hardly worth the $75 price tag. It's not even ergo. :?

Abyss Guide - Oh sweet sweet Abyss. [V2]
Chris replied to Karolismatul's topic in General Discussion
Just one little niggle. Do I need to do that favour to get access to all those runes. I just took this with my pure ranger a second ago. As you can see, it's only showing 100 of each elemental and 50 chaos & death. :? -
