I can since that's kind of happened to me before :-? Out with Tyson, Rowen and Michael... and we got pulled over since we were in Tyson's Seirra (cop-magnet given it's condition) and they just asked what we were doing out so late, if we had id, etc. General stuff. Fair go it was like 4am, but we just said we'd been out in the 4x4 trails of Logan Village. Got into a bit of a tiff about it being private property till Tyson pulled out his street directory and showed them that it was public land. After that they actually appologised for that misunderstanding but asked to see if we had anything we shouldn't have. Since we didn't they asked to see the contents of our pockets and backpacks... They gave me a pretty rough time about having my knife on me (i use a 4.5" blade for work) and since I still had my staff ID in there also they finally agreed to my version of events. Tried to find something sus tho... pushy bastards. Luckily they didn't know the total lift on the 4x4 was actually illegal, as the size of the tyres :D We got lucky.

You should see some of the stuff that comes down in bf2 pubs when you get privates going against 3-star generals. death-threats like all hell, hackusations (better get the FBI's computer crims division onto those), and general "annoying people anonymously" which is illegal in the USA now I believe ;) Not as bad as on xbox live - i know - but damn the authorities need to lighten up and recognise that 99% of talk that happens in-game is just talk :uhh:

The wage for most people within hospitality in Australia is actually rather good, and not... like 2/hr + tips like it is in the USA. Most of the time you'll find it's somewhere around the $15/hr mark or so.. comparable to the retail "awards" rates... with the exception of fastfood, which seems to be 2/3 the average wage... When you consider that - tipping isn't exactly required to begin with. Some upper-class places will charge service fees and such, and you do get people who will tip good staff anyways regardless of it being expected or not.

I have no gripes when it comes to fast food, short of this one time when I went to the Hungry Jacks/Burger King at about 4am, and the only fluent english-speaking person of the dozen or so staff at the time was the duty manager. Took me 4 attempts to get my order across to the check on the register... then it took her another 3 attempts to enter it in correctly. Yay for trainees who can't understand you :uhh:

I have cheated to pass compulsary subjects i never wanted to do in the first place, and never wanted to have to do again. The joys of [developmentally delayed]ed course structuring within university :uhh:

Discussion: Real Life Picture Announcement
____ replied to the_tallest1's topic in Forum Updates and Suggestions
Given that I once posted a desktop picture of a female in a corset with hands cuffed above her head, cuffs visible only if you looked for them) and the corset was not exactly defined as one, which was removed for being too risque, I'd say we have an already well defined limit and most OT users would know it with a bit of common sense ;) -
Now that I think about it, I have a similar story... Standard day at work, moving stock, serving customers.. etc. I was filling stock like usual, walked outside (store is spread over two buildings with a lane in the middle where the deliveries come through) to get some more tent poles, while I was doing that a lady and her husband walked by, she saw me and kept walking, i went by to getting another bundle of poles. About a minute later i get back into camping with my poles, couldn't see them anywhere so I proceeded to put them in thier holder thing... I turn around when done (a massive 20 seconds) and there they are looking impatient and a little annoyed asked them if they needed any help, the lady said 'no' and i was just 'no worries then - give me a yell if you need a hand with anything'. About 10 minutes later, while i had continued to fill stock, I had just gone back outside to get more stock off a pallet when her husband approaches me and starts to abuse me about failing to offer customer service and some random rubbish about me 'hiding from customers' (I'd assume the intial view they say of me which was from behind a cage of tent poles as I was pulling them out). Now, I wasn't in a mood to be abused so I shot back - with no hessitation - that "I asked if you needed any help, you said no. I am not obligated to follow you around like your servant on the off chance that you might have a question about something." He then proceeded to talk up that they asked to help and some other random crap (which never happened) and said he was going to lodge a formal complaint blah blah, and just as he was finishing that off my manager walks up to us and throws this out to the guy: "With all due respect, which is [bleep] all, to you - get out of my store and stop abusing my staff. If you want to lodge a formal complaint feel free. My name is on the badge, my staff number is xxxxx. You said you didn't need help, so he [me] went back to doing his job which is not babysitting you. Which is apparently what you and your wife think we're here to do. We are not your personal slaves whenever you step through the door. If you think that, by all means turn up to a store which runs on commission and expect you to spend upwards of 10,000. But given the state of your clothes, and the fact you stick of cigarettes and sweat, you'd be hard pressed paying for a $5 bottle of deodourant. Now quit wasting our time and get out now. If you want to press the issue further, I'll have the police remove you from the property, and we do have the security footage to show you antagonising staff, and loitering on the off chance if you want to take this higher than our head office." Best reply ever to a right bastard customer :D

I've had many annoying customers... the worst was some lady who called up at like 8:15 in the morning as we were trying to count the float for the tills, and she's all... Lady: My brother-in-law just got a new caravan and i want to get him something for it, for his birthday. Me: Alright, do you know what model.. or even how much it cost? (me trying to scope what features it most likely had already) Lady: No idea Me: Well, have you seen it? Lady: No. Me: Okay.. how much were you thinking of spending? Lady: Around $20 Me: (with an :uhh: look to manager) We've got a lot of things for $20 that go well with Caravans. Lady: What do you reccomend? Me: Well, given that you have provided no model, no cost for the caravan, and don't know what features it has... i can't make a suggestion on an item short of a gift card without the high risk of doubling up on something they already have for it. Lady: We don't do gift cards either Me: Then I suggest you come into your closest store after you have seen his caravan and make a choice then. Lady: You obviously seem unwilling to help me - goodbye (hangs up) Me: :uhh:

Yea... "don't be a [bleep] and you'll be fine." "If ANYONE says/does ANYTHING that you don't like FFS SAY SO" :anxious:

offtopic.com - strict enough. There's a lot of rules, and a lot of mods, and more rules for certain sub-forums. And their mods know when to be strict and when to step back a bit and yea... overall - rather well balanced darkwebz - eh...

Even with this merger, I'd still say EA is closer to a monopoly than anyone else in the industry, and even then the scope of that monopoly is very small. It's like a battle of linux distro's if you wan't to compare the video game industry as to which is closer to a monopoly

And I might add that my sense of morality and ethics grades somewhere on the edge of unethical and immoral for most people ;)
