hmm, i never knew about this whole checkpoint thing.... I might actually attempt the firecape now :D Ive always wanted it, I just cant sit at the comp for 2-3 hours straight. Firstly I rarely have that much free time to play a game, secondly I wouldnt want to sit for 2-3 hours straight playing rs. This save point could at least break it up into 2-3 days maby so i only have to play like an hour at a time =D>

It was a rune sword, not sure what type, could ahve been a long or short or even a 2hand. I wana say it was andrew himself that had it, but im not posative of that... All i remember is a friend of mine IMing me on AIM and saying someone had a purple sword in lumby...so lumbridge I went. I think they did it to get a reaction from people on the color or to throw people off before they released it or something. I also heard a rumor (back then) that andrew was walking around in some new full armor (this was before the purple rune sword..about 2-3 weeks before if i remember correct) Anyways, the rumor was the armor was orange. Rumor was it was rune too....but ya, that one i never saw, just heard the rumor back then. Again...Rumor i head back then...wich i doubt because i have never heard about it since. But anyways, there was purple rune...or at least a purple sword...held by a mod.

So being that this is in the p2p section, and you mentioned in your post that its p2p only....most should still have their rsc accounts? Maby if we ever gather it could be on rsc? even if its not to do anything...or hang out by lumby and fun duel (man i miss the old dueling system). I dont really play rs anymore, but i would definately try to come to some kinda rsc event, that would be interesting Speaking of that, i think ill log on rsc for 5 mins or so :P

for a measely 5 bucks a month we are lucky to get 1/10th the updates we do.... I think jagex does a great job. Granted, I miss the old days when jagex was more of a family type run company and they were more on a "friend" type basis with they player....but the game is far to large to be anything close to that anymore. I would like to see ANYONE work on an update THAT huge and not have a bug in it. How many hundreds of thousands of people have been in and out of POH since they came out and it took almost a week before that bug was discovered? How would Jagex have ever found that bug with a team of what? maby 50-100 testers tops? Now the bug where people poisen others then boot them out of their house to die....now THAT type of bug Jagex should have caught....so i am disapointed in that. But all in all I think for the amount of updates we get for only 5 bucks a month, no1 should complain....

I remember mining with my friend in dwarf mines and seeing a clan ofgodly lvl 40s (which was close to the highest lvl at those times) walking thru the min dressed in the best armor...addy large, legs, and battle, with a mith plate. Scared to hell...even tho i knew they couldnt attack little old me...prob around lvl 15-20 lol..... You also replyed to my post with ignoring the first half of it. " How can you say "I dont believe there is a rare problem" when just a day, maby 2, prior to this post you made a topic "time for rares to go". You cant say "contrary to everything previously written" to try to dismiss somehting written just days ago by yourself and expect people to pretend that topic never existed. True, you may not have badmouthed rares in THIS post, but it is clearely obvious that this post stemmed from the reaction due to your last topic, which DID badmouth rares. If you tryed writting this as a completely seporate topic from your previous one, then im sorry. But I will tell you that there is absolutely no way anyone that read your previous post will be able to view them seporate. As said before it seems that with these two topics, one after the other, it seems like you are on a crusade out to rally everyone against rares.... As far as your points on rares and the economy...In my opinion as already said, they take most of the inflation. I personally dont care to go on about it and make a huge arguement or discussion as other people have covered the points already. In anyway, my rares hold no monitary value to me as they were all obtained on drop days by me myself, therefore i will NEVER sell them. This is the only account they have ever seen and this is the only accound they will ever see. Rares could be worth 1gp or 100 billion, mine stay with me forever.

You claim that rares mean nothing and are useless and you dont care to ever own one and blah blah blah...Then WHY put so much time and effort into these posts and trying to make people believe the same? The fact is you are jealous. Get over the fact that you cant afford a rare because they rise faster then you can attempt to make money. Yes, basically you are crying because you cant afford a rare, get over it, they wont disappear. Personally, They hold NO value to me. I have a few Party hats, along with an assortment of other "rares" as well. ALL of my phats have NEVER seen another account aside from mine because they were all obtained from crackers christmas day. The same goes for almost every ther rare I own. In my eyes, rares like my Phats are priceless because it holds a sentimental value. They are worthless in GP to me, as i will NEVER sell them. If jagex suddenly made them all dissapear I would probably quite because my phats are one of my most valued items for how long i have had them. Along with that I have one of the 1st rune sqs ever smithed in RS...its not THE first, but Its one of the 1st 10 smithed...thats another thing i will never sell. Some things are worth more then money to people. Someone could offer me 10 bill for one of my hats, and i garantee I would turn it down. I could make money anytime i want....I would NEVER be able to get MY at back again. I hold pride in the fact that almost all of my rares have NEVER seen another accound in their rs history :) (the only rares that have bought are 10 of my santas that I bought for investment purposes since I dont play rs much anymore) Anyways, rares arent going anywere...and new players are more eager to get them once they learn about them because they are a part of runescape history and it gives them a large goal to work for.

The first thing I said to a friend when this bug was going on was "Wow, what an idiot...firstly, he is making people loose millions, which will probably cause a few to quit....secondly, hes just getting himself banned." I mean honestly, who is STUPID enough to do this? You KNOW your getting banned, theres just no way around that. Once your banned, all the items you STOLE are GONE. So what did we gain? NADA. The only person i could see doing this, would be someone that is quiting rs and just doesnt care about their account anymore and wants it banned. This got rid of many of the autoers, which makes it one of the best updates this year. Hopefully jagex will be able to keep autoers under control now and not let the same things happen again. Everything is working fine for me. I use the runescape client because I dont like seeing the URL bar n stuff liek that at the top of the page in firefox/IE. But so far the client works fine for me. The chat doesnt bother me because i really dont talk to anyone in rs...my friends list consists of about 5 people that ive known since rsc :D The only downside to this update for me is loading. The game (for me) actually loads SLOWER then before. It takes longer to "load the game engine" and "check for updates" then it took to load the game before. Before the red bar took about 2 secs to load tops, now it takes like 5 lol. Not that it matters, because its still fast enough. I guess the faster loading is more for slower comps to load faster, which will be good for my friend. Theres always bugs after huge updates like this....just dont trade for a few days, go train a skill. You cant really complain if u get scammed from a bug...you KNOW people in rs are only out for their own personal gain and will scam others any chance they get

then under jagex terms, wouldn't that be considered account sharing :lol: People try anything, and the funniest part about it is....Its not like you can retract a report that you sent in.

total xp - 60,740,163 Combat xp - 40310073 65.3% :lol: I wonder what mine woulda been back in rsc, because since rs2 came out, my main focus was skills, not combat since they ruined pking. when rs2 was releasedi was 100 combat with around 1150 skill total Now im 116 combat (mainly due to slayer) with 1616 skill total Combat is my least focused on area since the release of rs2 :lol:

Im sure quiet a few people, having known then what they know now would ahve made some different decisions lol. Personally it doesnt matter to me. I have been playing well before all that, before fally existed, before full mith even existed (though there was some addy items, the higest shield was a steel square from what i remember). But that was way to far ago to remember much, plus i only played a month or 2 before my comp crashed, leaving me internetless for 3 months, while rs made many advances. Needless to say, I managed to get 3 Phats that christmas day and the following week from either using crackers with friends, or randomely having them used on me. Im proud to say I still own all 3 Phats, a green, red, and purple. Mine is the ONLY account they have EVER been on and will continue to be the ONLY account they are on. Regaurdless of what their prices rise to, I will NEVER sell them. So personally, the choices made back then, even had i known what i know now would have probably been to stockpile hats, but then i would probably be in my current situation, just refusing to sell 30 phats rather then 3 lol. I also have an original mask set and santa. Though the santa is a special situation because I have bought a few more as investment, so whose to say of the 15 or so which is the original :x Regaurdless, I still dont see me selling even them for some reason :lol: money is just too easy to make nowdays.

If im not mistaken, ads alone pay for all the F2P servers....so realistically they shouldnt even have to be counted as they are self suportive and bring in no money (which is why they receive virtually no updates). so id go with something like over 600k members * around 5 a month is 3 mill+ a month so thats 36mill+ a year minus employees....say 200 employees at 45k a year...9 mill a year minus # of members servers which is 46 currently i think. say 1000 a day which is 365k a year (PER server) * 46 servers... so say 16.8 mill that still leaves over 10 mill a year PLUS extra money brought in from ads and such.....to pay for facilities... Of course these are just guesses, i dono if the servers cost 1k a day or more or less? And im not sure if F2P is still paid for by ads tho i would ahve to assume andrew would do something if he started loosing money to f2p. I would say andrew prob lives pretty nicely, but he did work hard to get there.

Personally, I would love to see whip prices to 10+ mill again. No, I am not 85 slayer...I think im still 79, maby 80 (havent logged in rs in a pretty good while, and havent leveled slayer in 4-5 months, so dont think im goin for 85) No i do not ownmore then 1 whip, nor am I a merchant at ALL (thats why I high alch rune items rather then deal with buyers) Whips are the ultimate weapon, thats why in my opinion they should be around 10 mill. With RS now days, it isnt very hard to get 2.5 mill or so to get a whip. Anyone who wants a whip could easily afford it (and if you say you cant then you are just plain lazy, it is NOT a lot of work to get 2.5 mill) 10 mill on the other hand is a descent amount to accumulate. It shows some deadication and hard work to get it. this would mean anyone with a whip worked for it. Be it earning 10 mill to afford it, or actually getting 85 slayer. (pking and dueling excluded obviousely) I paid 21 mill for my whip. Do I regret it? Not in the least. In my opinion its worth every GP I spent on it and then some. I dont mind prices being almost 1/10th what I paid because my whip has more then paid itself off in my eyes. I just think the prices are too low simply because it isnt much work to earn the money to afford the games best weapon. It shouldnt be so easily obtained by anyone. And no, 2.5 mill isnt anything to sneeze at, its a reasonable sum of money, but it is NOT hard to make with a little hard work, which is why i think 10 mill or so would be better, it shows more determination to get the best. MY opinions on it. I know they will never be 10 mill again, nor will they probably every raise even slightly in price. Its just what i think would be more appropriate for the best of the best melee weapons.

Actually as far as i know it works off total xp. bother have 200 mill xp in fletching, but xxxneoxxx holds number 1 not because he got their 1st, but because his TOTAL xp (all skills combines, not fletching) is greater then the number 2 fletchers. Im pretty sure thats how the places are held unless it changes since they hit the cap on xp. Also xxxneoxxx will probably always hold #1 in fletching because his total exp is insanely high. Hes has one of the highest total exp in the game (somewere in the 3rd-5th highest range) He just doesnt have the skill total to be in the top 21 and have his exp shown readily.

Wow, I'm really sorry to heard that. Unfortunately the way RS has grown, its gone downhill. Im sure you were around in the days when Andrew and Paul themselfs would question and investigate people before beening them. Its unfortunate the game can't still be run like that. Also yet another problem is that even if you are able to get your daughters account unbanned, you two will never be able to trade again without the fear of being perm banned. I wish you the best of luck in the situation and hopefully Jagex can realize that you are one (of the vry few) truely legit players that are simply trying to make their child happy.

Personally, maby 7 hours in a day top about 3 years ago. Now days If i get really bored i might be able to play an hour-1.5 hours tops, and thats like 1-2 days a month. Ive never been able to play rs for long periods (not just rs, any game), It gets stupid so i go do something better. i know a friend of mine on rs that used to do 48 hour straight (short 30 min breaks here n there...but for the most part straight playing). She used to do it pretty often too, not just a 1 time thing.

200 mill is the cap. Theres another topic floating around here (named something like "cooks are crazy" or something similar to that) discussing the 200 mill cap. Someone on that topic posted a link or something about xxneoxx (however its spelt, the # 1 fletcher) posted a topic on rs official forums ranting about how he can go past 200 mill exp and the 2nd place guy was catching up to him. He said hecan still fletchs, but he receives no exp for it. So apparently there is a cap, which I understand....but why 200 mill??? kinda odd.

my pure has 17 def from rsc :oops: It was originally a 10 def pure....but on classics when u log in its automatically set on controlled fighting style, and u cant change the style untill you are in combat, so if u 1 hit something, bring on the def xp :( there was also a bug for unassigned xp on classic that could give you def exp from another person that didnt fully kill a monster and logged out (you didnt get exp untill the monster was completely dead in classic) On rs2 i would guess alot of the def exp comes from switching weapons or accidentally using weapons like spears :?

Relax a little... I dont think he ment it as "omg 10 kills i should have had a d2h now!!" I think he ment it more along the lines of "I have killed 10 so far and no d2h yet" He is wondering how other are doing and how many they kill. He wants to know a general drop rate like say o around 1 in x amount you might get 1. Hes wondering if its worthwile to keep killing them in drops are extremely rare, or if its relatively commen, how many more will he kill before he should start to expect a drop (not that expecting it after killing 50 will actually get you the drop). Him stating that he has killed 10 and received nothing as of yet was just information on how he is doing, not complaining. At least thats how I interpretted the post. Dont jump all over people so quickly just because you assume something. on topic, I personally dont know, havent even been on since the updates, but I would imagine its similar to the KQ or KBD drop rates of the d chain or d med, respectively.

I seemed to notice that too, I usually get hit less (or at least seem to get hit less) when my HP is under like 70% I think its just in our head, but eh, seems like you get hit less lol. Maby someone will get bored and train for a few hours tring to stay within 10hp of fuul, then train a few hours trying to stay at 50% hp and see how much food is used. I would think about trying it, but i dont play much anymore..maby 2 times a month :(
