Okay without bringing up any type of religion, what suggests that we must survive? I've responded to this. I guess you missed it:

No, it's an opinion because it's impossible to verify the truth. Someone can just as easily say that humans don't need to eat because we don't need to survive - and you couldn't prove them wrong. Is it a "fact" that we need to survive? No. A fact would be how we need the colors blue and yellow to make green. But we're getting off track here. My initial point is that just because something is an opinion that doesn't make the statement any less reasonable. You replied to how I said, "Using chickens for food is more justifiable than using chickens for entertainment," and you responded by saying, "That's an opinion." Yes, technically it is, but technically so is the example I've given.

The statement, "Humans need to live," is technically an opinion, not a fact. That's my point. And saying that it's an opinion doesn't hold much weight because virtually everyone holds that opinion.

Well food is definitely a necessity so I guess you're arguing that we can just as easily eat something else - as to you can just as easily find different means for entertainment. Like I said, I look at the intentions behind the treatment and then weigh them out. If I had a choice to feed a person for a day or entertain a person for a day, I'd definitely go with feeding. Oh and it's also an "opinion" that food is necessary. But how much weight does that hold?

^^ I look at the intentions behind the treatment to see if it's humane or not. Caring for a chicken just for sadistic entertainment purposes is a lot different than caring for a chicken for survival. Human life is more important than a chicken life, but human entertainment (in this context) isn't more important than a chicken life.

That's already been attempted by numerous posters and it's all been countered with things such as "You don't understand" or "Open your eyes man, Jagex isn't even trying" or "You're a hypocrite".

Think of god as a parent. They'll punish you. They'll piss you off. They're unfair. But in the end, they usually know what's best. That's just my take on it. I mean without negatives, how would positives exist?

Firstly, that's the incorrect usage of the word. Even if you were right about them being contradicting, it would merely be a case of me contradicting myself - not me being a hypocrite. If I RWTed and said that RWTing was wrong, then I would be a hypocrite. Notice the definition provided says "acts in contradiction to". Secondly, it's a whole new can of worms. There's nothing immoral about responsible drug use. I implore you to go to an Off Topic thread concerning drugs to talk about this one though. This is not the place. Thirdly, I was talking about before drugs were even illegal. Back then, there were people who used them responsibly and people who didn't. The people who didn't exercise caution, caused the government to make them illegal - ruining it for the ones who did exercise caution. You're basically telling me there's no such thing as responsible drug usage.

This is the real definition of hypocrite: a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings. I didn't do that in my post. And let's say for a minute that you were right hypothetically - you're still the one quoting me first and you're still the one trying to make me look like a bad guy and you're still the one who started the flamewar.

I wasn't asking in that post. I was asking how am I the one who quotes everything you say and tries to make you look like the bad guy when you're the one who quoted me and tried making a bad guy out of me - with an irrelevant flame at that.

Tripsis, you didn't delete the post that started this whole thing: That's honestly your main point? That's how life works!!! And how you think it's a "punishment" is beyond me. But even if it was, let's take a look at some things we have to deal with in life: 1. Drugs. Some people can and do use drugs responsibly, but the people who don't have ruined it for them. 2. Age limits. Some young people are mature and can handle things well such as voting, drinking, driving, going into office, etc. but the ones who don't handle them well ruin it for the rest. 3. Profiling. Cops and authority are trained to look for stereotypes which they assume will lead to a crime. "Group of teens playing their music loud? They must be having an illegal party! Let's get em boys!" Cops break in, finding out that the kids are doing nothing wrong. Kids don't get in trouble, but it's still unfair that they had to suffer just because there really are kids out there who play loud music while having illegal parties. You're such a hypocrite it's ridiculous. And if I do remember correctly, you are the same mod who warned us not to flame each other last time he was sending me PM's. It's about a year later, and he's still going at it. Honestly, I just want to post in peace without him flaming me with every possible chance he gets. :|
