War on RWT - Why this new feature?
Hmmm....you're right. I guess I'll have to stop lending and recieving items so that I don't become a "casualty" :wall: Edit: true. Since you can only lend 1 item per account, RWT would need 1 customer for every account. No the other way around: one account per customer. EACH with a AGS. It would be theoretically possible for a lvl 3 to get a gs since all of the easy lumby ways to make money exist now. But it would take an incredibly long amount of time to do so. I would say that there are only about 20-30k RWT employees who actually do the trading. I got the number based on the amount of accounts that quit rs after the 08 update (60k)If all of them rented a gs for $5/24 hours, the profit of the gross income of the day would be $100,000-$150,000. And that's assuming that ALL of the accounts had a GS. Then they have to pay the employees. $1 an hour would be a good estimate I expect. That's 70-120k. Then minus the expenses for running the place, that would be much more expensive since there are many places of operations, so about another $10k-15k spent. So at the end of the day, that's about 65-100 thousand dollars a day MAXIMUM. Oh wait, how long would it take to get the gs? The cost effective thing assuming the accounts would be banned would be to buy memebrship after 30m was earned. That's $5 per account. WAIT! That's amoutn per 24 hours! So then they would need to up the price to ~ 8-10$ per 24 hours to make a profit. And if or when Jagex finds the suspicios activity and bans the accounts, they would have to start all over again with the money earning. There are so many roadblocks that can really screw up the gold farmers that they would still enforce the rules but not pursue it because the threat would be so minor. Also, remember that the 30k total employees is including multiple businesses, so there's competition in prices and those profits would be split between the amount of companies. Even if it's just five companies, that would only be $20,000 a day maximum. And I am SURE that the number of business was MUCH larger than just 5...

F2P Magic Training
If you don't care about tokens or rating, you could try FoG. I'm sure people there won't mind getting free tokens (rating is a different story though). Just make sure that you have a good amount of charges or the game will kick you if it determines that it's impossible for the losing player to win.

armor and sheild
If you're f2p then a rune berserker shield is the best. If you're p2p, the best shield by far is the Dragonfire shield at 75 defense. The best armor is torag's, but it degrades. The best non-degradable armor is bandos chestplate and tassets. If you have 130+ att/str, get a rune defender and keep the berserker shield for those anti-range fights.

Grr, high levels.
Yeah, this has happened to me when I need about 18 d bones for a prayer lvl. I'm not whining, but the competition is so intense for the green dragons that there can be some flaming. When theres only 4 monsters and 6 people, I can justify having a cannon out in single combat. Other than that, it's rude. In your profile, it's spelled "Ramen". I'm just a spelling and Naruto freak like that  . And in your sig, I guess that makes me pathetic, since the highest total net worth for me is 7 mill (5 mill in cash), only 1 dragon drop and 1 barrows drop and I' ve also been playing for over 3.5 years.
-
Why am i getting flammed for having a sgs?!?
- OMG, I like playing pokemon , and I think that the SGS is the best one ever still. But highest hit doesn;t make you awesome, oulasting the tztok-jad makes you awesome \ . -they think it's nooby because they think everyone should play by their rules. -I just wish that the Zamorak hilt actually had the Zamorak symbol on it... -I don't like Zilyana either, but I want her sword  -Nah, I'll get the hilt in a drop or buy it eventually. -OMG Itachi is awesome!!! Don't hate on him!!! Sasuke on the other hand sucks...betraying, twisted little [cabbage]. And Armadyl is the god of order and justice, like Saradomin. -lol, so true -I have 71 slayer and I only think it's good for actually using the drops as weapons/armor and motivation for combat exp. -If they were well rounded instead of 1 defense and 75 attack/strength, then they would last longer than armadyl. They also phail to bring p pots to protect item pray. -they never failed; they PHAIL. The "ph" means that they epically failed. Saying "epically phailed" would mean that their failness is beyond all degree and would damn them for an eternity in the phail pit to try and "succeed" despite their phailful phail lives as phailers. \ =D> ;)

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
Not the example I was expecting but it works  Probably a more reasonable and less tenuous example: Actually it's not an example:

do u like pures or not?
You phail life. He'll just respawn in Lumbridge so don't bother telling him the utter truth :ohnoes: *shudders*

RS: scientific vs. relaxed approach
I used to do that a lot when I was "younger" (lower level). Now, I feel like some 30-year old person working as an accountant on World of Workcraft but actually paying to work. Currently, I am trying to get 70 prayer. I anticipate it will be by Saturday since I only need 800 more points. If I had done the faster approach, ecto d bones, then I would have spent about 2.5/3 mill from 63-68...I'm not buying piety for that much cash. Every 100 pc points saves me about 115k and gets me ~30k too  . I also get to show off my full melee, range, mage, and mace void and a few seals too. But FoG is where I really shine...

Obsidian (Zerker) Necklace: What Happened to it?
The d scimmy in this case is the worst of the three. A saradomin sword has +12 strength bonus more than a d scimmy + rune defender. If the Saradomin sword hits either the same or harder than the whip (on aggressive), then the sword is better than the toktz-xil-ak + berserker necklace. If it hits lower, then the toktz-xil-ak still wins because it also will always hit more than a whip. The toktz-xil-ak will only be best if you are fighting low defense, high hp monsters. So don't go fighting a blue dragon with it and expect to win ;) .

RuneScape isn't ruined...
Just a heads up: in a logical argument saying that you know something but won't say it is just as good as saying "I don't know". They probably don't want to change again and lose another 60k more members, possibly more. And based on what you said in context of the sentence, I guess that a good way to avoid credit card fraud is to not use a credit card, ie use checks in the mail. They don't give instant membership yet prevent credit card fraud. If that wasn't what you are stating, please state it. I'm not being sarcastic or flaming you. I'd really love to know as many ways as possible to find credit card fraud and not fall for it/not get sucked into it by accident. Also, don't stereotype this forum. It is very inflamatory to stereotype, and also, if you persist, this forum has a better reputation than the RSOF. ^^^To the two posts with swearing in them above me:^^^ Could you edit out the [Guthix][Cabbage] in your posts? It's very offensive to me. I don't give a damn if you say "damn", but make it so it's just "damn."

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
As my genius history teach once said: "There are two types of evils in this worlds: because is, and because made to be. Because is: anything that is just evil in nature. Drop trading does not fall into this category according to you (I don't know really know if drop trading should or does fall into this category, but that's not the point.) Because made to be: driving on the right side of the road in England is against the law. Why? The probably flipped a coin "heads right side, tails left side". There needs to be order and organization. Without either there is chaos in a society. The former addresses any actions that cannot be made "good" by simply saying "It's not against the law." Murder is still evil even though it could technically be made "not against the law". The latter addresses any other rule. Regardless of what YOU think the ruling on drop trading should be, JAGEX says it's against the rules and they will show you no sympathy for breaking that rule. Nyosuht, I wish I was as lucky as you. Out of all of my rl friends 80% admit to breaking the rules at least three times. 35% admit to serious rule breaking and continued rule breaking. 100% of the 80% owned at least 1 pure or a pure as their main. And probably not surprisingly, 100% of the rule breakers were between the ages of 11-13. Semi-good news: only about 10% of them are still online. Bad news: 99% of the 10% are the rules breakers  . *sigh* why can't people just follow the rules? If you need to swear, don't bypass the censor, you can't be reported for being "starred". There's absolutely no reason to scam because of all the easy money makers for low lvls. I have never drop traded in my life because I never have created a new character that I ever maintained (I have like 5 characters besides zelda12346, but they're all lvl 3 or 4 :P).

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
It took more than a year for Jagex to develop summoning. I'm sure that there will be a new minigame that replaces old pking quite well, just give it about a year or so. Rome was not built in a single day, or week for that matter (that's what my grandma says :P ). I'm fine with wanting the wildy back. I support the old pvp, but I don't like it when people whine "Rs is ruined" "ruinedscape" and the like. ^^^ As for grinding, there really isn't much difference in any other mmorpg. It's almost a staple. There are Rs raids like WoW (just no instances -.- ) like Gwd and KBD/KQ. There are dungeons like Tarn's Lair. The quests aren't grinding at all. There are MANY more minigames in Rs than in WoW. And FoG is my favorite pvp ever. If people would just use strategy, then it would be exciting. I'm recently placated at the moment from 10 victories in a row because I have gotten mostly people who want to train mage -.-. No excitement whatsoever. And there are 230k on highscores for FoG, so it's pretty popular. Grinding on WoW ahs to be the most boring thing ever.......

Why select items?
possibly for data purposes. there's not enough memory for lending ANY item. And also, if people lent barrows, it would possibly be an item scam, or overpowered. 1. untradeable when used: lend item and use it, automatically yours. 2. tradeable when used: may cause some confusion and more scamming since people will claim to have 25% armor when really they have 1%.. 3.Tradeable when used: how do you repair it? Surely someone doesn't want to pay for another's barrow's set. 4. ^^ how would you make the receiver pay? What if they couldn't pay? As for rares, it's very bad as it devalues the worth of the rares considerably.

Slayer - Rewards
I've also found this to be quite annoying. I remember when D sqs were 1.4m ea, the d chain was 20m, and the whip was 2.2 m. There are only two things that can solve this problem: increase demand drastically: make a dangerous minigame where people would have an incentive to risk losing barrows armor or even dragon armor but actually getting rid of the items from the game. Like dying in Temple Trekking, you die and you will ALWAYS lose your items which are drawn into a vortex of pure emptiness never to see the light of day, much less existence, ever again. We are basically in a plant pot with no hole to let the water out. If we can actually get rid of these items, there will be not only less supply, but more demand because of the incentives and because people have just lost their items forever. decrease supply: either completely get rid of the drops for ~5 months, or nerf them so that the dust devil chance is 1:1,000,000 and the KG is 1:10,000. Coupled with the the above update, it would increase the value of items by a lot. As for a way to get rid of players who seemingly don't "Deserve" a whip or gs (like a lvl 100 with a gs...), raise the requirements by a lot. This also solves the "Too many weapons/armor crammed into such few lvls" problem. The godsword should be a lvl 95 weapon, requiring 95 attack, strength, and 70 prayer. The lvl 70 weapons should be lvl 90 weapons and the Saradomin Sword and Zamorak Spear should also require 65 prayer. Barrows being lvl 90 armor/weapons. Third age being lvl 85 armor, gwd armor being lvl 80 armor. Obsidian and dragon armor/weapons should be lvl 70. Granite should be 60 and have better melee stats than full rune. Rune should be lvl 50, addy lvl 40, mith 30, white and black being lvl 20, steel being lvl 10, iron lvl 5 and bronze still at lvl 1. This would make getting barrows more "impressive". It's almost insulting to Dharok when a player's max with the set is 53...This new layout would either: make people more determined to get their requirements, and/or make them sell the armor/weapons and thus decreasing prices temporarily. Some dragon weapons like a dragon longsword and dragon dagger (without specs) should be f2p. You always hit 0's in bh with full rune on and just a rune scimitar...Meh I'm kinda getting off topic so I'll stop there for right now :)

Item lending.
Lol I actually think the trial was aimed at giving potential buyers merely a taste, restricting their capabilities in the world. Eventually they figure once they hit lvl 20 and can't go any further, they'll buy the game and be hooked. That's why so many people say the trial is just as evil as actually buying the game :P Either way you lose your soul :P I lost my soul to that game for 3 months... *shivers* I am so glad I back to Runescape. The pvp was awesome, except for camping spawns.... -.- -.- -.- Raids were really good, but I didn't find enough friends to play them with. Besides raids, pvp, and exploring (which is REALLY slow without a mount), WoW is boring. The skilling is almost automatic because you can have a max of 100 inventory spaces with raw materials that stack in lots of 20 and has a "make-X"... At least Rs keeps you involved every 28 or 14 so "Make-X"s

Item lending.
Well, yeah, the people who owned a very expensive/high demand item should have sold it before the update. It's just how the market works. As for lending rares I really don't see a point in that. Also, your conspiracy theory is wrong. There's no market for rares because there's no demand. There's no demand because people were frantic during the January updates. And people won't buy them now because there's no point. Why? The prices have been the same for the last few months, actually they've gone down about 5% every 20 or so days. No one would consciously buy an item that they knew would not sell. It's not Jagex's fault; it's called "emotion" which is a big factor in the economy. Just look at America's economy right now. It sucks. And before that, two main things caused the Great Depression: credit cards and fear. too much debt created inflation and made the dollar worth less. Because everyone was scared about losing money, they all sold their stocks. No demand = lower prices or no sales. It's a free economy except for those caps, which are very good at limiting sky rocketing prices. Just wait some weeks and they'll come down back to Earth like normal. It's all free trade that follows the law of Supply and Demand.

Merchanting isn't dead!
Merchanting before trade update = constantly buying and selling stocks. Who in the stock market wold do this? No one. They continue to buy when the price is in a trench and then sell them a week later when they are at a peak. Investing = true merchanting old school merchanting = bad idea

Omg, another bad update ..
Before I begin, please edit that swear word out. It is very offensive to me. I don't give a damn if you say "damn" instead, just make it so it's just "damn". Did you even read WHY they did this? Read the development diary on Runescape vs. RWT. I understand how you feel (at least somewhat). I can't give my d hally to a friend who spent all of his money on staking, even though that WAS stupid....I'll never be able to pk like I planned to do wonce I reached 115+. Oh well. We must adapt and move on. Drinking stagnant water only makes you sick.

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
OMG, I LOVE THAT GAME!!!!!! The end of the road is always bittersweet isn't it? I'm almost afraid to play my new rpg game, Mana Khemia, because I don't want it to end so soon too  But this is why I love Rs so much :

RuneScape isn't ruined...
Contrary to what most people think, The Man isn't out to get us. The official loss of players is 60k, though it is unknown what the ratio of legit players to RWT accounts was. Also, Jagex reported a profit first day because now that the updates were implemented, RWT dropped drastically, therefore no reason to steal credit card numbers. No stolen credit card numbers means less money to pay back to bank. To all of those unappreciative of almost no RWT, think of it like this: Jagex is a multi million, maybe BILLION, dollar industry. If paying back money forced them to act this way, then think about how much money they were paying back. RWT is a serious issue. The only things that probably stop countries from acting is because it allows "jobs" for the citizens and/or the government is corrupt/apathetic. Why the hell would Andrew Gower (sp? ) purposefully [cabbage] up the game? He and the rest of the mods said that the game is very dear to them. If they lied, you can quote them and take them to court for a ridiculous reason for a game that you should most likely NOT be playing. +10       Also, for those who think Jagex could have done this differently, feel free to send in suggestions. i'm sure Mr. Gower would LOVE you forever and become your eternal servant if you found a way not only to make bh = old wildy, but a plan that would have been better than theirs. SERIOUSLY, how can you tell the difference between a stolen credit card number and a regular one? Don't say, "Looking at purchase records." That's against customer rights for privacy. You can't tell the difference. Jagex even stated that that was one of their plans, but why didn't they do it? About a year or so ago, in Tenn. there was a law passed that said any restaurants which allow smoking must be 21+. One of my favorite places (good onion rings ftw \ ), had to switch to only 21+. Why? Because the majority of their business came from smokers. Same concept. Obviously, the vast majority of Jagex's customers use a credit card (for some unknown reason. I use Checks : ). Removing credit card usage means a deficit most likely. Tell the players to adapt or accept a deficit and possibly go bankrupt? Hmm.........that's a really hard question. They can either destroy the previous game and have it reborn for different players, or just destroy the game. I think they picked the first one.

The why game
Because I always have my private chat off. Why do I use full melee void even though I hit less with it?

RuneScape Is A Real MMO!
Idk if you can get a p2p lvl in f2p using lamps, never tried it *thinks hard*. And WRONG you CAN'T get "99" in all skills in WoW. Actually it's 300 or 350 for Burning Crusade expansion. There are two types of skills in WoW: secondary and professions. There are I think 6 secondary professions, but a good deal of them can be replaced by your class (like fishing, cooking, and first aid can be replaced by a mage or priest class.) Professions are a different story. You can learn and master all of the secondary skills. But you can only know *TWO* professions. And there are like only 10 of those. About half are gathering skills, and roughly the other half are processing skills. And because you can only have 2 skills, most people will get 1 gathering and 1 processing skill ie mining and smithing/engineering, herblore and alchemy, skinning and tailoring/leatherworking, etc. I makes the whole game kind of limited, since you can't make everything that you use. And if you change your mind and choose another skill(s), you must forget the previous ones and lose ALL of your progress in them. So if you change from lvl 275 mining to lvl 1 herblore and then back to mining, you are back at lvl 1 mining. And even in tailoring, leatherworking, and smithing, you still can't make the super rare or epic rare grade items, you need to get them from a drop. Though really, there should be some different lvl requirements for armor. Make barrows lvl 90 armor and the Godsword a lvl 95 weapon and I'd be happy. : : : : :

RuneScape Is A Real MMO!
I found that runescape is the third biggest f2p mmo online. But I don't trust that number because our numbers are only 1 m below WoW's...So, Runescape could be considered #2 in the industry

No PK? No Staking? No market? No drop trades?
Fanboy is sexist, you could at least call me fangirl  Companies ALWAYS will throw games out the door in the end; it's called CHANGE. I don't doubt that within the next generation if WoW doesn't disitagrate, the gameplay will be so different that it would be just the same as if it did so. And what's wrong with praising Jagex for something I like? I LOVE the graphics. They look a little cartoonish (But I'm an otaku too, so IDC), whereas WoW uses graphics that are the same as an N64 for the gameplay (but like 360/PS3 graphics for the opening cutscenes). Also, jagex also stated last year that Runescape would be their aim for another five years. That's four years from now. Let's see...2012-2001 or 1999 for those who are really picky ;) = 11 years of sticking with a game, possibly 13. That's a LOOOOONG time to stick with a game. I guess if I work for Jagex when I'm 19 or 20 (hopefully by 25) I'd be working on the mechscape team :( . And why do people think that Jagex is doing nothing for pvp? It took them over 1 year (latter part of 06 to early 08) to do summoning. It also took them a good 14 months (I think) to nerf pc. It's only been 7 [cabbage] months. When it's been about 2 years with now avail, go ahead and rant, but by then, most people would say, "What the heck are you talking about? You can't attack people in the wildy!"
