  1. I think a Windows Update might have broken that, but it's nothing, it's just cosmetic and has no importance. And yes it's been doing that with me too for a very long time. Your shutdown problem though is unrelated to this. Did you recently install a program, sometimes they might cause issues, I know that the new version of Whatpulse seems to do that a lot (I don't know how many guys on this board still use it).

No you're not alone, I enjoy both my gaming computer and my Xbox360. Depends on the game I want to play as well. And Powerfrog, a computer with low quality parts like that (for the most part) will only last a few years before it dies, and the HDD is quite small for today's standards.

Never had this kind of issues with Win 8, actually on my laptop it outperforms win 7 by a lot. Did it come preinstalled or you installed it from the installation media like I did (dvd or usb stick (usb stick in my case)).

Why would you buy a new computer every other year? My computer from 2008 is better than next gen consoles, meaning it'll be better than consoles for another 9 years at this rate. Consoles do not play new games nearly as good as new computers. Most games on console run on a resolution that you'd expect from the early 2000s, and many have a limited framerate, which isn't acceptable. Mouse+KB is vastly superior in some genres, but other than that it's down to personal preference, so there's that. Console controllers do work on PC flawlessly, however. You must've put a lot of money in your computer, this kind of specs was quite expensive back then in 2008. In my case it's a gaming computer that I built in 2009 for $600 and put another $200, 2 years later when I upgraded the graphics card and the RAM. Consoles might not play the games as good because of the resolution and stuff, but as long as the graphics appear decent and the fps is decent as well (most of the games I play have 60fps (even though I have the Xbox360 I think this thread has already changed to a generally console thread)). And about the mouse and kb thing, yes there are genres that they are vastly superior, but I was on the topic of games that you usually find on consoles. And for your computer being better than the consoles for the next 9 years at this rate, these consoles will probably still cost much less than what you paid to build your computer. This is also what I was saying about the consoles becoming incredibly obsolete before they are replaced.

Not everyone has the money to buy new computers every other year, and this is where consoles come into play, Yes they make the consoles last longer and become incredibly obsolete, but they still play new games as good as brand new computers when old computers can't run these games. The PS4 and Xbox720 both have better specs than the computer I built 4 years ago that can still play recent games at decent graphics, and I'm not going to build another until I have either the money or the computer can't run the stuff I need it to anymore. Also, I like playing with a controller much more than playing with the keyboard and mouse. This is huge in gaming too, this kind of preference.

You need connections for any kind of job these days, you can't get a job without that.
  7. What a great read, and it's really true as well. After a 2 year break, coming back last August was already like playing a whole other game, and it would have been even worse if I had waited until recently to come back. I don't regret though, I'm having some playing this game again and it is why I have stayed until now.
  8. Yes, maybe, but all FPS games are like that and there are some people to like these kind of games, including myself.
  9. I don't know what's the problem with playing this game, War Chipmunk, some people find it fun, like myself, and play it regularly. And no, I do not rage at this game even when I have bad games.

On the Nexus 7 it's volume down though, just like my old Android smartphone.

Tbh I don't know if it voids the warranty or not, since it doesn't break any stickers I'd say it doesn't but still we shoud check first.

This happened to one of my cousins, and I fixed it by unplugging the battery for a few minutes. You just have to unsnap the back of the nexus and you'll have access to the battery wire. When I fixed my cousin's Nexus that did that, I started it in the bootloader but I don't think I needed to. Interestingly enough, this has never happened with my own Nexus 7, and I use it a lot. Did you install the latest system update? It's supposed to have fixed this issue. [hide] [/hide]

Lol 98% isn't a drink anymore and could kill you. Also, that's what we were using to clean the lab when I was on a biotechnology course in 2006.
  14. I know, I wasn't totally serious but it's still a pretty good camo lol. If anything I'd buy the extra classes but I don't need those either since 10 classes is more than enough for my everyday use.
  15. I consider UPS bad. I've had an experience with them and I'm never going with them again. Also one of my friends had ordered a laptop and UPS left it at his door when he wasn't there, he got lucky no one that passed by picked it up.
  16. You can only transfer retail keys. If the key came with the laptop, you can't transfer it because it is tied to the motherboard as it is an OEM key. You need a program to get the key from Windows, but I can't recall the name of the program.
  17. But le bacon kawaii camos xD so randum Yeah I hadn't seen the bacon camo yet when I posted that. I'm tempted to buy it just for the bacon camo.

Yeah I love π too! In all seriousness I don't know how I go so long without any pie, the only time I eat any is the christmas holidays, yet they're so good..
  19. Have you tried emptying your browser cache via the browser or CCleaner?
  20. Treyarch has introduced microtransactions in their game. This means I'm never buying a map pack again.

Good on you! I've been on Fiber Optics for 2 years and it's pretty awesome, although extremely expensive here in Canada. I have 50/30 BellAliant Fiberop for $95/month. Lately I have formatted my laptop and installed Windows 8, and although I miss the start menu (there are programs to have it on win 8), it seems much faster and more stable than Windows 7. I still have to test if I will blue screen when plugging a projector on the VGA port though. Never recommending Asus again, seeing as I have sent it on warranty the first time I had issues, and fixed it the 2 other times, and that I seem to have anoher hardware issue right now that seems to slow down the POST. Never get Asus ROG laptops guys.
  22. Sorry for not looking into the dump files earlier, I've been pretty busy with college lately, but I'm happy that Karvinen was here and helped. Thanks! Happy that what was said seems to have fixed the issue!
  23. Do you know of a way you could upload the minidump file so that I could get a look at it? It seems like it's not the temperature as you said, so I guess maybe RAM as your googles came back with "memory" but if the issues continues after the reinstall, the issue is maybe that or maybe a Windows Update, they're known to sometimes mess things up.
  24. Memory issues can case blue screens. Memory = RAM, not the hard drive. Overheating is possible as well, but I would run a tool to see the temperature. Coretemp is a good program to check the temperatures.
  25. I don't see what's wrong with a slower processor in a laptop though. The processor is one of the things listed on the side of that picture. It's an AMD E2-1800. I usually prefer Intel in laptops since AMD already runs a bit warmer, but they're a bit more expensive.
