You don't have to install the drivers for the card to work, you will be able to install windows and all, then windows will use it's generic driver until you install the driver, when Windows is installed.

Win key + R -> diskmgmt.msc -> rightclick There, you should have the option to do what you want.

D_V_Devnull, long time no see :P. But I just wanted to tell you that IE6 is very outdated on the security side, you should always have the version that is current, as long as you don't have bugs (which is why I went from Firefox 3 right to Firefox 3.6, 3.5 was too unstable).

I believe your igp isn't strong enough for rs, like most intel express chipests graphics.

And would there be information traveling between the pages? If not I think your best bet is a bit of html with css and maybe javascript, depending on what you want to do.

Meh, I prefer Nvidia because of the drivers and the fact that people seem to have less trouble with them than the Ati Cards. For the drivers, the reason is that Ati makes very good card, but the Nvidia card of the same range and quality will probably outperform it because of the better drivers.

You should never go for a cheap power supply as it is the most important part of the computer. If it dies it could bring other parts of the computer with it.

I couldn't find the specs of that power supply (as in the number of A on the 12V etc), but that processor does perform pretty good, well that's the same processor I put in my recent budget build and I like it very much. I chose an Asus board though. As for the video card, I'd go with a company that doesn't look as cheap as the one you chose, I would go with EVGA or BFG or something, and they have a better warranty too.

You guys made me realize I've pretty much been listening to a single band in the last 3 years, Dream Theater, and still listen to their music everyday. I guess I'm just a fan, although I sometimes go and listen to some soad or Atreyu.

I would get something that isn't ancient that a socket 775 Motherboard and even would stay far away form old Pentium processors. Get an I7 or an I5 instead, but that means it's giong to cost more since the RAM isn't going to be the same neither.

If you want to make sure it works, bringing it to geek squad is one of the worst things you can do. Bring it to a specialized computer repair shop, since it seems you'll have to pay either way.

Depends on what's dead, but it's not money down the drain, just exchange it for the same card. I'm not sure yet it's a bad graphics card, but might as well go and then have a new card to put in there and see if it works.

Although I'm not sure the 9400GT has one, at the back end of the card there's usually place where you plug the power that comes from the power supply, like in the following image. Make sure that is connected.

Did you change the PSU? If not, that's probably the cause, not able to provide enough power, plus you have to plug a wire form the PSU directly on the card, although I can't recall the name of the plug that's made for the video card, which adds to what power PCI-e can provide.

Even faster, in Vista ans 7 you just have to press the win key and type the program you want to start, that's not even one click.

Then get Windows 7 and setup your libraries like you want to use them, it's going to be very few clicks to get to your applications.

My friend bought an HP notebook for $699 that has all that toshiba has plus has the bluetooth and all. It really all comes to preference, which I can see here, is "go with a mac, it's the best ever!", when in reality, it's the same thing as a windows based PC, except the few extra hundreds dollars it costs. What I come to see the most in Mac, mostly lately, is their marketing win. Else, how would they sell overpriced computers as much as they do?

Proven false, Windows 7 had far fewer bugs than Snow Leopard had when they got out. As for Alienware, don't go for that, it's overpriced computers, you can get the same for much less with Asus.
