  1. Computer specs would be nice to know ;).
  2. Yeah, looks like it's the heat making the fan go up in speed, you should check if there's a lot of dust in them.
  3. dsavi, if a problem comes up, you can do the same with Windows, meaning the part you said it's a reinstall without problems. Also, since Vista, viruses won't just come on the computer unless you allow them, so it's user error most of the time. From the OSes I have used (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Ubuntu, Fedora), I find Windows 7 to be the most responding, fastest and easier to use than the others. Plus with MSE you don't even see the antivirus is there since it doesn't use much RAM. I have nothing to add on the side of advice about Ubuntu, I think it's pretty covered with the link dsavi posted.
  4. I thought the speed increase would be much bigger from an SSD. Windows 7 boots in 25 seconds on a 7200rpm drive. Programs run quite fast too after a cold boot!
  5. It's pretty low on the 12V
  6. Yep, using speedfan on Both Vista x64 and Windows 7 x64 on my desktop, the temperatures are staying pretty much the same, maybe a little lower with Windows 7. Mind you, my Vista installation was over one year old, so there were probably a lot more programs running on it too.
  7. 9800GT is a good choice yeah and you won't have trouble with the drivers like Ati people have.
  8. Such small cuts and you get stiches for that? I don't even go out of my way for small cuts like that, just going to the hospital for that is overkill.
  9. That, and might as well tell us if the vga cable is on a dvi to vga adapter.

I was lucky not to have that many, but I did have quite a bit when I was a teenager. I'm now 22 and only get one from time to time, less than one per month. The worst was when I was in highschool, but that time is over, thankgod, I hated school so much, but college is very fun. Actually, I didn't use any products at all and they went away by themselves the older I was getting.
  11. I got a gps system since I'll be moving around alot when I finish college, I mean I'll probably get out of the province of New Brunswick (Canada) to get a job and with this I shouldn't get lost, also got an inflating kit for me to put in my car. I know I'm going to get more, probably a watch and $20 if it goes like usual (well I asked for a watch and didn't get it, I didn't get presents from 2 people yet so I guess you know what I mean. Merry christmas to everyone!

Wow, I thought it would be more uncommon than that, I also don't get bruised easily. I remember having a bruise, but that's very rare even if I hurt myself quite badly almost to the point of bleeding.
  13. Not christmas here yet, but I hope getting what I want, but won't be disapointed if I don't. Still, Merry Christmas to all people all around!
  14. Check at your local computer shop, I can find some of what you're looking for at my local computer shop for $5.
  15. I don't think there's a difference, honestly, as long as you have what you want in the computer, it's worth getting it.
  16. If there was wireless, you have to set the wpa key again tough.
  17. Yes there are. You plug the mousepad in the usb port and it's the mousepad that gives energy to the mouse, so it's a wireless mouse that only works on that particular mousepad.
  18. The shutdown temperatures varies depending on what the settings are in the BIOS and the processor you have, although it can range from 70 to 85, those are the temperatures I've seen so far. To find your temperature, you can use a free program called Speedfan. Also, as I think you already know, it's very bad on a laptop to have it on your lap as it blocks the vents that are under, where the air enters the laptop. That's why they now call them notebooks.
  19. Actually, you can disable everything if you want, I've done it for the lan party I had, to get the full power of my computer with the bare minimum of programs running, so you can disable anything you want, remember that you should keep your AV and such still checked though.
  20. Quite right, but you cleared everything up in a more understadable way. I was quite tired the night I wrote this, so It's a bit normal I didn't phrase that like I should have. Thank you very much :).
  21. That I will do, I've been planning for a while to install 7 instead of Vista x64 on my desktop, only needed to come up with the money.
  22. Anything can happen with computers, glad it works again without even knowingly doing anything.
  23. Have you tried updating your Java?
  24. If my logic is right, it's using the full power of the 64bit processor while 32bit programs only use half of what the processor is capable of, thus making the operating system faster, but as there is more power used, what is lost (heat) is higher too.
  25. Untrue, I'm currently using my 4 year old $15 philips headphones and they still work like new and are not breaking anywhere, plus I have an almost 7 year old philips that still works despite pretty much being in pieces. I do agree on your opinion on skullcandies, they break very easily and should not be bought considering the price they are. The Sennheiser looks pretty good.
