Depending on what hw is, I'd go for the first one, simply because it's not Intel graphics, which sucks, but even then, the card in that first one also sucks, but is enough for games that don't take too much power. Although, when looking at the processors, the computer will still be slow and then I would say go with the third one, cause it's the most powerful of those 3, but you won't really be able to play games. Now, I would like to know how much they cost, because it's most likely that you can get a much better laptop than those 3 for less on websites like Newegg.

I believe using wubi would be better in your case, still dualboot and not as clean, but it's as fast as the real thing plus you don't have to play with your hard drive like that and taking the risk to lose your mbr.

The free version is enough, the paid one only has more options.

You should always use a specialized program in buring thos things, such as imgburn, which is the one I find the best to burn a .iso. Relatively simple and nothing too big.

I haven't read about it, I have tried it on one of my computers and am keeping it. Also replaced AVG by MSE on my friend's infected computer, and it found a few hundred viruses almost right away compared to AVG not finding anything (had ran scans myself with AVG beforehand, not really willing to change the guy's antivirus, but I guess it's better to change anyway). I'm actually surprised of it's performance and quality, considering it's from MS. Anyway, I'm going to look for some reviews when I have more time, right now I'm cooking so yeah... lol. Bentomat, defenitely remove Norton, even if it got better in the last years, it still sucks compared to the antiviruses we talked about here.

As others have said, you should try it in dual boot. I think Ubuntu is the most Windows like linux-based OS, and maybe that's what's getting it so popular. I would not install it in a replacement of Windows either since you never know if some part may not work. But saying this is a better OS than Windows? Completely untrue, it's just a matter of opinion, every OS is as good as the others. Also, saying programming is better on Ubuntu? Untrue as well, I've programmed on Both Windows and Ubuntu and it's pretty much the same.

That's what happens when you run 2 antiviruses on the same computer at the same time. The conflict with each other, making it so there's a lesser actual protection for your computer. You should only just be running one antivirus (With an anti-spyware installed if you want). If I were you, I would uninstall both, then install either Microsoft Security Essentials or Avira Antivir. AVG has become one of the worst antiviruses around in the last year and a half.

There are plenty of video cards able to play any games at max graphics with anti-aliasing on their own. I have a 9800GT in my desktop playing all the games I play at max settings, one of the latest games I got myself was Borderlands, but I guess it's not really a demanding one.

Only one of those retailers is in the province I live, and it's futureshop, problem: it's a 4 hours drive.

Could you tell me your computer model? Trying a chipset update might be a good idea here, and with the computer model I could get the download page for you (computer manufacturer's page). That's assuming you have a prebuilt, if not, it's the motherboard you have that we need to know.

Weird, here in Atlantic Canada, instead of having the usual -20°C/-25°C, we have temperatures such as -5°C to 10°C. There's only 30cm of snow on the ground and the blizzard that we were supposed to have and that would have added 55cm of snow all fell in rain... Like wtf, rain in January? Actually, there's a difference between Mb and MB dsavi, so here, speedtest.net shows it on Mb ->Mbits as you say. I personally pay for 10Mb/s, mostly because of the GB/month restrictions, But I get 9Mb/s and can download at 1MB/s.

It's weird, Asus has been the best brand I've touched in the last years. I guess they're not so good on screens, but it doesn't mean the other things they make is bad. And yes, Acer is a pretty good brand when it comes to screens, although depending on the price you pay for them, there may or may not be a backlight bleed.

Did you try completely uninstalling Java and reinstalling it?
