Usually gateways are made with very cheap parts and will break very fast, at least that's what happened with the few friends I have that bought a gateway before getting something better after they broke.

My thought is that the GE and friendlists are on the same servers.

My 21 in screen I bought for around $200 has a 1920x1080 resolution, so I think your resolution will be either that (if it's a good screen) or 1680x1050. But most video cards easily do those resolutions.

Less pricey building it yourself, I recently built one, for $600 (already had hard drive and video card(9800gt) and OS), and someone I know bought a prebuilt with almost the same specs as the one I built with Dell and paid $1700. Remeber though, this is canadian dollar.

Instead of vmware(which isn't a good program btw), use Virutal Box, it's opensource, so you pay nothing to use it. But it should be mentoinned that it's not the same kind of multiple deskops as the Ubuntu one as you actually run a full Windows in the virtual machine, not just the desktop.

I've used ESET for a year, and it deceived me. It's not as good as people say. The best free alternative you can get though is either MSE or Avira. Also, if you're behind a router, you usually won't be needing a software firewall as you already have a hardware one. Adblock plus is a very good add-on for both Firefox and Google Chrome. And yes, I've recently switched from Firefox to Chrome, as Firefox has been getting more and more sluggish since the release of 3.5 (I never permanently installed Firefox 3.5 and higher because of stability and speed problems, Firefox 3 is still superior to 3.5 and higher). The reason that us, people very often on the internet, don't get viruses, is simple: we know what to lookout for, and know the tools not to get viruses. Nowadays almost all the viruses you will get is by user error, and what's even worse is if the person getting the virus is using Vista or 7, the have had 2 separate warnings before installing the virus, and that's without the antivirus. Viruses nowadays work with user errors, that's why people that don't go often get the viruses, they don't know the browser tools not to get them, and also will go to any website, even those containing viruses (I have a friend that does that even if I tell him not to go to that website, thinking of going on his computer and blocking it), and often will click on any ads on the page, which themselves sometimes contain viruses, but also scam ads that you see sometimes.

Well, you should've made a backup of your video before doing something like that. Most of the chances though are that you still have it where it was saved originally. As for WMV, it is Windows Media Video, so yes, it was the format you needed.

I've been with DLink for 5 years now, indy500fan, so they're not all bad. I do know that Linksys is a good brand. As for the problem, it happenned to me a few years ago. I called my ISP after doing what I knew at that time that could have a chance of repairing that, but in the end, while with the ISP, their technician to be precise, it still didn't work. We did a lot of things but in the end I decided it would be better to reformat and that's when it worked. Now here, my problem was the same, except I never was able to go on the internet after closing the programs that still had the connection, it wasn't a thing that lasted as short as a couple of hours.

I don't know, but I've never had any problems with K-lite, and it's pretty light too.

If you're going with a Core 2, I don't think it's worth it to go with DDR3.

I fail to see anything anormal on the screenshot. My guess is that there's more chances of it being the screen than anything else, so I would do what egbert said and try on another screen, or at least check the connections to see if it's all plugged correctly.

Where I live it's all the contrary, instead of the usual -25 , -30 degrees celcius it's been up to 10 degrees celcius for most of the month, I'm so used to snow but there isn't much right now.

You can't play RS on an iPod Touch; therefore, you don't need one. OP: The iPad is a neat little thing, but it's nothing spectacular considering it's, as millions of others have said, just an iPod Touch/iPhone on steroids. But considering Apple comes out with revolutionary products every few years, you have to give them credit for being quite an innovative company. Notice how many touchscreen phones were made and sold before the iPhone came out, and after. You should name at least one of those revolutionary products, all I see in Apple is marketing genies.
