  1. You may want to try the converter at: http://www.winavi.com/mov-converter.htm It may help, and I believe it should convert a .mov file into an mpeg....
  2. The majority of people who are going to quit have done so already. I think this will probably affect the game negatively as JaGex has cut off ways for many people to make money which then means those players will not be able to train their skills as high which will then lead to less items being sold on the GE and so on... So if that does happen... an economic recession? And as people can't make money, they will barely be able to level their skills, they will work for them, and may manage to level up, albeit at a much slower pace. A huge shift in the highscores probably, as well as a rift- those that play longer will still be able to make exponentially more xp than those that don't since they will get one skill up to raise another- such as mining for smithing, runecrafting for magic, etc. And if this happens... prices will start to rise for finished products... and competition for monster drops will definitely worsen...
  3. SAY WHAT! I haven't really been on in almost a year... and this is what it's become? lol... it went form around 200-220k around november 05... to 160-170k a year or so ago... and now it's 140k? That just proves what merchanters have done to the economy...
  4. cursing....... used to do it... although it can get tedious, the chaos mage (i believe) under the main stairs in varrock castle...... You get 29 xp per cast, regardless of whether it works or not.... so get a mud staff and bodies, and curse away.... with a high enough negative magic bonus, they won't hit, and if they do hit, the chaos mage returns back to normal in a few seconds.....
  5. Ironically, the scenario posted has almost become a reality...... Jagex, with their war against RWT.... has essentially stripped the game of its basic necessity- a free market. Now, in America, trade occurs primarily due to 2 reason: the buyer is buying at a good price, and the seller gets a compensation for their item. The same principle used to work in Runescape. However, due to RWT, the compensation turned into cash. One method Jagex could have circumvented this would have been to embrace RWT from the start and sold coins for a rate, that could constantly change, eliminating the entire industry of RWT. Or, they could have set a limit on trade, in a method similar to anti-trust laws and tariffs. Jagex could have implemented various "companies" in Runescape, each of which would sell a particular industry, such as ores or logs. People would sell their items in that company, posting a desired price, as well as a range. Using various algorithms, the overall price of items sold by the company (collectively) would be close to the average (or even median) price of all asking prices. If someone desired to buy an item, they would see the average price, and purchase the amount of the item they desire. This capital would then be distributed equally, in a manner similar to dividends in a publically traded company... To clarify, here's the basic outline: 1) Seller A goes to company and puts 100 mithril bars for sale, essentially "buying 100 shares worth of the mithril bar stock" 2) Seller B goes to company and puts 500 mithril bars for sale, essentially "buying 500 shares worth of the mithril bar stock" 3) Buyer C goes to company and purchases 200 mithril bars. The amount paid by Buyer C is distributed amongst Seller A and Seller B, who receive a proportionate dividend on the "shares" they own. Effectively, this would cut down on RWT, as prices are still controlled by players, yet occur on a scale determined by the masses, and not an individual. This could increase the risk of a monopoly in areas such as high level potions or other items, but overall, there would be an end to RWT....
  6. Maybe the cause might be insufficient RAM or a corrupt Windows registry? Try clearing cookies, run disk cleanup, and try disk defragmenter, that's your best hope... Well your only hope if you don't give any details..

  8. Nowadays, though, the media actually reports MANY of the events that have occurred, resulting in mass pandemonium. Now, if the media was not so, I doubt that much of the public would know. However, as part of the schools, many of the students know what is going on, and it really ends up being a war that they must fight, in order to ensure peace. As such, the politicians these days aren't doing much to help, they only do something when the public pressures them, which won't happen unless the media reports it. The only way the media will discover the issue at hand is if someone contacts them. And to be blatantly honest, that person has to be someone from within the schools.
  9. Excellent question, but the kinetic energy has two components: mass and velocity. As velocities (speeds) approach the speed of light the mass begins to increase, therefore requiring more energy to continue to accelerate the object. While the speed of light limits the velocity, the mass can increase indefinitely, so the kinetic energy continues to increase. So if you accelerate an object composed of exotic matter (with negative mass), would its mass decrease to negative infinity, thus propelling it faster, or would its mass, like that of normal matter composed of baryons, increase to infinity? And if the first case is true, then wouldn't exotic matter be shooting around the universe through time, since it would be going faster than the speed of light? Tachyons are going faster than the speed of light anyway, if they even exist, which I doubt. But if tachyons are going faster than light, wouldn't they be traveling through time? Even though they don't violate causality, wouldn't tachyons be highly unstable? and if the instability was the case, and say, the tachyon was traveling through time at above light speeds, wouldn't it decay into the neutrinos/particles that it is composed of BEFORE it was created? Also, wouldn't this, in essence, be the creation of energy, as particles/neutrinos 'magically' appeared, and following their creation, a tachyon was created? So wouldn't you get two things for the price of one? (Two tachyons from the energy required to produce one)
  10. In response to your previous comments, allow me to quote this tidbit on tachyons: Now, sorry for posting all that basic atomic crap before, but it may help other people out if they ever get to read that... Anyway though, antimatter is thought to have positive mass, as if it had a negative mass, it would REPEL its opposite charged counterpart. Thus, many scientists have concluded that antimatter should have positive mass. The tachyons that I am referring to are. in essence, exotic matter. Now that I did a bit more research on tachyons, they are indeed thought to exist but only under two conditions: if they exist (by Feinberg's analysis) they wouldn't transmit information - but they don't exist anyway (by tachyon condensation). So, these tachyons, if they do exist, won't violate causality, as if it is sent back in time to alter its past, it would be seen as going forward in time as a positive-energy particle. Because of this, these particles probably won't exist, and if they do, serious reforms in our view of the world would have to occur- mainly causality and relativity...
  11. Okay, you lost me at the "negative mass" part. In that case, allow me to elaborate- The matter that we are familiar with is composed of atoms-whose nucleus contains protons and neutrons. These particles, along with a few others, compose the family of baryons- a class of particles composed of three quarks. These quarks cannot exist alone- they must be bound with other quarks- and because of that, you won't find a 'quark soup.' Now, theoretically speaking, there may exist particles that are known as tachyons- they have an 'imaginary' mass, that is, a mass that is neither positive nor zero. These particles are hypothetically thought to exist, but have not been proven. The negative mass would mean, in essence, that they would be like boots of lightness or a spottier cape, in RS terms- they would lower your mass. Now, these tachyons probably couldn't lower the mass of matter by combing with baryons, but, these tachyons would interact in strange ways with normal matter, if they do exist. What I was wondering was what/how would a tachyon be propelled to/beyond light speed.

  13. In order to accelerate an object to the speed of light, and infinite amount of energy is required, since as the object approaches the speed of light, its mass increases, eventually topping out at infinity. So with two infinite masses with an infinite amount of energy propelling them, would cause each object to have an infinite amount of gravity radiating from it. This would result in a bend in the space-time continuum, resulting in an object known as a black hole. Amazing isn't it? Now, two black holes that are close together would eventually combine, releasing amounts of energy that are only inferior to that produced by the Big Bang. The resulting cataclysmic explosion would rock the universe, sending gravitational waves throughout the universe. This would result in a temporary distortion of time and space, after which, only one massive black hole would exist.
  14. My own religion is Jainism... Which I doubt any of you have ever heard of in your life... or ever will hear... but this might shed some light.
  15. I swear this is pathetic..... Well that's what happens when parents think price is the only thing that matters.... Not to mention I'm 5 miles away from NYC....
  16. Oh please sir Mr Ratchet sir.. I wants to watch ze Random Show! Can I? Can ? Please Mr. Ratchet sir... I beg you... please sir... please!!!!!! No! I dun wants to play with ze childerkin... no sir! no!!! Disclaimer: No childerkin were harmed in the writing of the above message. Well... maybe a few children... but they certainly deserved it.
  17. Here are the two best scenarios: 1) Mine the gold (all 194k), then sell the ores, getting you 97m...or more... Use some of the money to buy steel bars, which you then smith into steel plates. Now, buy some natures and alch the plates for some reimbursement. 2) Mine the 194k gold. Smelt these into bars. Then, craft them into gold necklaces. Then get a load of natures and hi alch them for both money and magic xp...
  18. lol...that was hilarious, although I do have to say that the noob police is very hypocritical...
  19. 7/10, the snake looks pretty nice, although some effects would've been nice...

  23. My best guess would be that it was intended... although the entirety of the phrase is now banned in Germany, I believe that as individual words it is acceptable... although highly controversial...
