  1. Iceland probably. My uncle went there following our national football team and said it was brilliant. Other than that, I'd like to do a trip across Europe, particularly to the Netherlands/Germany then onto Sweden/Norway. A coast to coast trip of America would be pretty good as well.
  2. Jolene (Live) - The White Stripes
  3. Today I learned that I enjoy the Harry Potter books more now than when I was younger.

Went to a sports bar to watch the Scotland vs Czech Republic football match with some friends tonight. Scotland were dismal. Nothing new there really.
  6. I guess it does a bit. I prefer talking face to face with someone so sometimes the point I'm trying to make doesn't come across as clearly in text as it maybe would have if I'd been talking straight to the person. I guess I take a little more care about what I say online, to make sure it comes across like it should. Other than that, I swear a little more in real life.
  7. Biffy Clyro are brilliant. Really good live as well, just got to be quick to get a ticket as they sell out fast as hell, here at least. I guess Soundgarden could be considered grunge. Good band regardless. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pBZs_Py-1_0&ob=av2e
  8. Most of my friends are either at work or at Uni in different parts of the country during the week so I tend not to do much Monday to Friday, maybe meet up for a pint or something if someones free. Out with friends most weekends though, either out to the pub, cinema or round someone's house for some vidya games and banter. I'm content.

I might get this for the single player once it's dropped in price a fair bit but for online, the new COD looks like the one to go for.
  10. Quite a big forest not too far from me. Has the ruins of a small castle/stately home from a couple hundred years ago in it as well. Quite a popular place for the underage drinkers to head to.
  11. I saw this thread from my pier I almost choked on my beer Its makin me bleed from my ear Like bein stabbed with a spear I cant rap without sounding queer Thats it, im done here...

It's quite a big problem in many of the UKs larger cities. I know in Edinburgh, at least, there are volunteers who go about each night with some food and a warm drink for the homeless and theres a Salvation Army soup kitchen where they can get a meal and, I think, some shelter for the night. There's supposedly quite a high hard drug (heroin) addiction rate among the homeless there as well. I'll occasionally throw them some change but the volunteers who help out with the shelters and in the handing out of food and such, do good work. There was also this page on a local newspaper's website: Super Tramps.

Aha, my old flat mate was doing a philosophy course to get some extra credits last year. The tutor was trying to make some point about how we never truly arrive anywhere, we just keep getting that little bit closer but never really reach the place where we intend to go, which was met with a lecture theatre full of people scratching their heads. Complete mind-[bleep].
  15. It looks pretty sweet, didn't really expect them to have the image manipulation thing. A nice surprise.

I normally just watch stuff online and occasionally buy the odd normal DVD if it's cheap. I have no Blu-Ray player.

Books were the worst by far. Before Uni I never really appreciated just how damn expensive they can be. I realized why the teachers at school used to shout at us for doodling on them.
  19. The High Road - Broken Bells Pretty chill stuff.

Yeah, thats what I've always heard. Weed increases the risk of schizophrenia if that risk is already in your genes.

As Sam said earlier, it's nice every once in a while. I can't see the appeal of being blitzed every day. For one, it'll increase your tolerance to it meaning you need to smoke a bit more to acheive the same level of high and two, it must cost a fair whack buying whatever amount of weed you need to stay baked to get through the day. I'll stick to having the odd smoke once in a while.
  22. 1. Sitting at around 3 days I think 2. 1.62 3. Don't play it much anymore. Saying that, I played for the first time in ages a few days ago. I really couldn't give a [cabbage] about my stats on it anymore so me and a friend made some unusual classes and had a ball trying to make them work. Akimbo G18s are awesome.
  23. Okkervil River - Lost Coastlines
  24. As others have said, patience is pretty high up on the list. Some of the best teachers I've had have found ways of making some really boring but important part of the course more bearable and easy to learn. My old French teacher had some good games we'd play to learn verbs. He'd split us up into teams, give us a verb each, we'd then have to conjugate it then make the funniest sentence with it we could, using the french we knew. A laid back personality as well. Some of my tutors last year were pretty laid back and easy going but still got the respect of the students, which is a hard thing to find a good balance between I think. Be too laid back and they'll take advantage of that, be too strict and it doesn't create a nice atmosphere in class. Some people are just naturally good teachers as well.
  25. Student. Not currently doing any classes so I'm looking for work until next year.
