Back to the old staking is soooo much skill !!! Every half-decent staker use the same technique as every other half decent staker +. Many of the high stakes such as rare stakes have been done with no armor/food anyways. I think we both can agree that when you are going past the 0 - 1mil stakes it is just about gambling and routine. (Explanation for the slow folks: at low level stakes you seem to be getting into a lot of different types of people, people that don't have optimized equipment etc. But when you pass the 1mil staking mark you seem to meet opponents that just use the exact same techniques as yourself, or techniques that are just as good) Perhaps you should be "respected" for the balls you have when you enter a big stake. But then again. Do you respect a man that puts his life savings on a football match etc in real life? Staking is all about win big or loose big. The quickest and easiest way to riches if you have luck by your side. Skilling is all about the small gains. A slow but 'easy' path to the riches. And you don't need much help from mr. luck either. Who deserves most "respect". I say whoever have used the most time to get that blue party hat is who to "respect". Now I respect everyone anyways but if you really can't do that and must choose, then I say go with the skiller that have invested tons of working hours into the game, rather than the lucky gambler. Important note: This is not about Pk'ing. This is about duel arena staking. (No longer possible)

Why Runescape will experience inflation in the coming months
Fredz replied to agamemnus's topic in General Discussion
There are a lot of flaws here basically because it seems you have some problems understanding the "game" variables here that does not exist in real life. At the very top top top of my head there is one major thing you are not considering. When a real life person dies, all his belongings and wealth get transfered over to his family or to the government. So everything he does in the world is still in the world after his death. A world that "add's". The empire state building don't just disappear because the workers that built it died. Now this is not the case in Runescape. You can talk about money sinks such as construction and repairing barrow armor. But that is nothing compared to the money sink of quitting players. A player who quits in Runescape don't automatically transfer his belongings onto the hands of people that are still active in the game. But everything he have in his bank, everything he have earned his whole RS life is buried with him. Or just deleted if you like that term better. :boohoo: -
What so amazing about being the first person to macro range 24/7 ? Well, he was doing massive real world trading. Why do you want to glorify people who has actively been breaking the rules, and banned for it? Also, most of the persons the guy before you listed are true RSC legends. Just because they have been forgotten in the new history of Runescape (post RS2 release). It does not mean that they are Not legends

Will future bots be almost impossible to detect?
Fredz replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
Fey_Warrior thanks for taking your time to answer. I just want to clear up: I'm aware that the whole industry stinks and I'm very happy with the way JageX are trying to fix the issue. There is nothing better than to see rule breakers getting banned from the game so us legit players can play in peace on a fair competitive platform. The only thing I didn't like was how you were generalizing the bot/macro/gold farmer industry. Of course after reading your post(s) over 2 more times I didn't find too much to base my arguments on, so I conclude that I did jump to conclusions a bit quickly. I'm looking forward to the Dev Diary myself. I personally hope that JageX will state that they will go to extreme lengths to fix the problem(s). And I think they will as they have already changed (or ruined, depends how you look at it) the duel arena. -
I did this one time a year ago. Followed 5 miners when they were at around level 60 - 65. They were not banned before one of them had hit 99 mining, the other once were banned at around 90 - 94. Go figure how much cash they made..

Will future bots be almost impossible to detect?
Fredz replied to ixfd64's topic in General Discussion
First Kaitnieks was introduced much earlier to the game, and he was overrunning Runescape with his early bot (that came out long before fatigue) that could do most things. Mining/Smithing/Banking scripts could run hours without being detected or stopped. Also the "advanced detection" system you are talking about in "generation 3" was pretty basic stuff. Like the first was just an encrypted string sent to the client after 60 mouse clicks in a session waiting for a return of the string to the server. As Kaitnieks first auto had almost complete control of the client it did not allow this to be returned and thus we had our first mass ban on Runescape. The auto program was fixed in days though and it took a much longer time before JageX made a fix for it the second time. It could also be worth mentioning that on RSC today there are several detection free bots still remaining from this time RSC was around that Jagex never fixed, and the main reason why JageX scrapped new sign ups for RSC. I think you also should note a popular color scripting macro program that is very popular today (not by gold farmers but) by the cheating community because it does not interact with the server, but still works great when using a good script so the detection percentage is very, very slim to non existent. PS. Fey_Warrior please spare us for the political propaganda that everyone lives in fear and that if you steal a candy bar the next thing that happens is that you blow up a building or two. Reality check one two one two. -

I have edited my first post to include a vote for everyone. :) I would like to point out for you that you are contradicting yourself in your first post. First you say: ~~When voting starts, if you don't put a vote for all of the capes then just put down the capes you are voting for. Then you say : NB: You must vote in each category -

3 Hit U did a muggie like move and told "us" that ashes would play a role in summoning without providing any more details. 3 Hit U have been known to have some close relations to at least one jagex mod, so hes credibility is higher than that of a regular player.. But still, its just words. Fred

Hi there. Love your signature. Did you make it yourself? In that case, what program did you use? Is it a paint product? Good luck on your journeys. Cheers', Fred -
greets Sirblack Good one, but why write it in binary code? :-s

2007 - Updates have made a big money Loss.
Fredz replied to pipeelbakan's topic in General Discussion
' Salut. Cheaper Prices = You need less money to buy items = It doesn't matter that you get less money for your items because other items are also cheaper. No more wasting time competing against auto typers and cheaters. -
This is how it could go down: The gravestone are for everyone to view. The drop pile are only viewable for the killer and the killed. In the wilderness it would mean the pk'er can loot your corps. In non wild areas it means you have plenty of time to get back to your corps.
-
Exactly. I don't understand why JageX wont let us have a player defined market. Why do they have to control prices? The gold bar thing is one example on a item that is just hugely overpiced without going down in price because it seem to have hit a "minimum cap" (And that cap is higher than the alch value of 160 btw)

It's possible may take a few months, even with a team of 4-5 programmers. It is possible though, just a lot of applications have to be executed, or enough patterns stored for any scenario. Algorithms. <3 Or I could do it alone in 2 weeks? Wake up people!! Seriously! (The only thing I could not do is making it solve randoms as well. But to my knowledge there is quite a lot of random solving scripts on the web already so I would not worry to much about it)

So that is why there have been no behind the scenes article today. They are to busy eating cake

What this guy said. - Does these bolts give less xp per hit? - Has the accuracy of the C'Bow changed? (ranged bonus) - Is your max damage lower than it should be? If these 3 questions output the answer "NO" it is just bad luck.
-
Firstly, on low detail the "sky" could still be black. And secondly you could have changing sky render depending on were you are. :)
-
Its just there to add to the article. Its not my job on the picture that we are supposed to discussed here Well, if you want to argue your case, you should at least make it look like it looks good in maybe one situation, let alone being universally used throughout Runescape. Honestly, if you can't make one image look good (or at least try to), then it doesn't speak well for the suggestion that it would look good in all cases. This is not a suggestion. It is a discussion. Hence it is in General and not under suggestions. Anyway, I removed the picture so people now can focus on the discussion instead of talking about off-topic matter. Thanks

This is not a new subject. The sky render has been a future that have been much debated. Ever since the early beta shots that was given before the public beta of RS2 Jagex announced that we would get a sky render in the brand new RS2 engine! That never happened. And when RS2 went out of beta JageX removed the pre-released beta shots of the rendered sky from their old news post. Personally, I'm still looking forward to a future like this. Why did JageX abandon these ideas to begin with? It clearly does not look like a hard future to implement. At least it should be easy to change the background color from black to a "skylike" blue? I don't know but I sure would like to bring some more awareness around the "sky render". :) What are the chances we see this in the future? Why have JageX not chosen to do anything about it yet? Would you want it? Feel free to discuss :) Edit: removed picture due to popular demand

Clues, Secrets, and Forgotten Eggs about Summoning
Fredz replied to Locutus_Of_Borg's topic in General Discussion
Not everything has to do with summoning.. Lucien is a part of the temple of ikov quest. And a follow up is about to come. I point you to the chaosoduko for more info: "Mahjarrat gathers an army; he shall slay many masters." This is a follow up from an earlier clue posted 1-2 months ago that were something along the lines of (from the top of my head): "The threat from the north is Mahjarrat made" I don't know your skills in questing, but if they are poor I can summarize for you and tell you that this is not summoning related 8-) -

If I could get a follow up on the Elf storyline I would be happy for months.

So David Beckhams kids can go and buy up all the blue party hats in game over night? I don't think so.. It would also create major inflation that would result in higher prices on goods for the player that don't want to buy gold. Personally I'm willing to go very far in order to do RWT and cheating as hard as possible.
