Minimum price caps!?
why are you asking? he asked if their might be one. which suggest you did not read this thread, then followed up with an assumed, yet logical post derived solely from the title. at least thats how I saw it. Thanks Jessy. It seems like half the people are not reading or not understanding the topic. Yet they post a reply. Its kind of hard to keep this topic moving when everyone start shifting to talk about the minimum price on items set by the general price. And not what this topic is about: absolute minimum caps on items. Oh well. :(

Minimum price caps!?
No. The prices of items only change when they are sold. What price they are sold at relative to the normal price(5% up or down) determine if they rise or fall. So if nobody is buying at minimum price, just normal, and they get sales, nothing happens. If they get successful sales up or down of the normal price, then the price gets adjusted. In that case it is a really strange system and the 5%+- should be changed to something bigger. Because if (example:) 1000 people are trying to sell their chefs hat for 10k each (lets say that is the bottom price) but no-one is interested in buying the prices should decrease to expand the demand for the item. That is pretty basic supply and demand knowledge. Likewise if 500 people are trying to buy addy ore at 500 gp each (lets say that is the maximum price) but no one is willing to sell for that price, the price on addy ores should increase to create more supply. Again pretty basic stuff here.

Minimum price caps!?
When many people are selling at minimum price. But no one is buying prices are supposed to decrease. Not stay the same. This works on most items, but some items seem to have reach a "minimum cap". Thats the discussion here. #-o

Minimum price caps!?
Minimum Price Caps? This was something hitting me hard this morning. I have been compiling a huge list of prices on the grand exchange and how they have been changing the first few days after release. So far it seems like Jagex are doing an price update every 23 hours or so. It will probably even out to 24 hours in the long run. But some prices seem to be moving along quite slow. More specifically. They are not moving at all!. Had these items already reached their price equilibrium? I went on a mission to find out. After a lot of testing five items was behaving strange. The first. Gold bars. Gold bars had been at 221 (minimum 210) for 3 days. Personally I have been trying to get rid of my gold bars for two days at minimum price. It should come as no surprise that I have not manage to sell any yet. What is surprising though is that the prices is not decreasing when jagex are doing price updates. I tried buying a bar at minimum price, I bought one instantly (no surprise there). Is Jagex having minimum caps on items? If this is the case I think I must puke as gold bar selling trough the GE just became obsolete. I'm suspecting minimum price caps on various other items aswell. I will have my "100% sure" evidence conclusion ready by tomorrow on those.

Grand Exchange Your Pros and Cons
Pros: Helps legal player to do merchanting without having to compete against auto-typers and merchanting bots. No time wasted buying and selling, more time playing the game :) Easier for jagex to monitor the now less regular trades, so RWT are getting their ban as they should. 6 More bank space Armor boxes to save bank space Harder to do price manipulation Con's Loss of a serene forest. Initial prices were pretty poor (item was too expensive or too cheap, some still are)

First price changes, updated
How much is it? 155 - 174

First price changes, updated
Aren't they? Doesnt this just mean that the items that are drasticly out jagex will intervine and sort it out themselves where as the prices that are close enough and what not get changed by the 5% Jagex are, I'm sure, dedicating alot of time to make the GE work. I'm positive that they'll be doing all the price updating and tweaking manually from now on, so as to ensure no future mistakes. We gotta give them time though. Eh? They just did a automatic price update with their daily automatic system and you say they are doing things manually from now on?
-
First price changes, updated
Aren't they? No they are not on a grand scale. That is for prices that are way off like Rune boots 181k (Now 85k) And lava battlestaff 60k. Because it would take a few days before these would touch the "real" market price for these items.
-
First price changes, updated
What?. They are changed according to the player trades. What has that to do with planned economy? Its an automatic system changing by a maximum of 5% each day. Its not like JageX is changing the prices manually.

A little step for jagex, a large stap for runescape
Members already have this option. It is called Construction costume room. So you should start dreaming about that becoming f2p. Because dreaming is all you can do at this point.

Ashes and the grand exchange
This is not true. You can use and make them after the quest and when given to the villagers they give you presents in return. So not very useless.

Sorry, Comrade, but Price Controls Don¢¢âš¬¢âž¢t Work
Personally speaking, as I'm on a good way for a master in economy I cant really say that this is logical. This piece looks to me like real life politic propaganda written by a neoconservative American. Not that it is a bad thing in general. But when you write pieces like this for a online game it should be a little bit more objective than this, and remember that this is a game, and not real life. There are huge differences here that I wont even get into but in short: Comparing Real life with Runescape so closely wont do "it". Unconfirmed rumors by several people talking to J-Mods claim that JageX have settled on a 24 hour market fix with a max/min raise at 5% of current price. Once some of the poorly set prices adjust the next few days I can't see that this is a bad thing. Its not likely that nature runes (example) in a single day in the future will fluctuate more than 5% down or up. Newly introduced items in the future will be another case. But I'm sure they will find a way to integrate those in a nifty way once that time comes around. If it means something at all they have at least made this system pretty safe from being abused by RWT or price manipulators. It also save those poor souls that would mistype a zero or two when buying or selling something. Don't get me wrong qeltar. I usually like your work. But this article is just ridiculous. :(

26 November 2007 - The Grand Exchange
I knew I was not alone for all this time! Thank you very much. How to solve this with GE update?: Make a portal access point in both of the Varrock banks that teleports you to "a new land" were grand exchange is.

Has Jagex lied to us?
I thought this was what you meant by lying. :P Aren;t there other ways of permanently banning a computer than IPs? Isnt there some other information specific to a computer that they can use? I'm sure eventually, the major Operating System creators might make available a specific code that you use which identifies your specific copy. That would then be possible to ban with since rather than banning the connection, you're banning the copy of the disc and the only way to get around it would be to buy a completely new copy of this operating system. Of course, we don't have this yet, so as of now, the IP ban is the only effective method (kind of). There is. It is called a MAC address. However it does not help as information traveling across a network can ALWAYS be manipulated and the routine a client do for fetching a key(or address) can always be manipulated. Its the beauty of computer networking.

*RuneScape will shine soon enough_
The real interesting thing here is that this is actually a "doable" solution on how to solve both "mass macro" and RWT issues. The idea itself is so flawless. Private Dropping: - Will fix all kinds of illegal "drop trades" Grand exchange replacing P2P trading. With a few tweaks (like setting up access points in every major city etc) - Cripple players who abuse the market. - Criple RWT completely - Create a more stable and fair market Introducing "New" P2P tading: - ONLY allowed to trade UN-Noted Food, Potions, Tools (Chissel, Rope etc). NO money or armor/weapons are allowed to be traded this way. And must be traded trough the grand exchange (or trough shops ofcourse) Duel Arena transformed to duel tournament arena : - Will cripple last possible way to transfer money illegally. You say you can still trade in the wilderness dieing? Well. Jagex could easily implement a way to flag a person who dies in the wilderness with more than (example) 1 mil gp raw cash. If he does this several times a day/week he could ease be auto banned as a RWT'er. I mean... who travels in the wilderness regularly with 1mil + raw cash? Even taking a single gp into the wilderness is a un-logical move in the first place, unless you are buying a wilderness cape. This would also effectively stop the use of "auto-typers".

ZYBEZ is flaming prices!!!!
As far as I know this is just based on a mass opinion poll on the front page. If Tip.it were to follow that blindly I would be very disappointed.

Happened to me with agility. Was in top 500, not anymore :( I tryed to get back to it. But It was just too boring.

Why the ZMI Ourania Altar Will Change How You Runecraft
Hi qeltar, as you know this is a wonderful piece of work. :D I do want to argument for the cause of using Moonclan group tele instead of using duel rings tho. You say that the price of using duel rings are less than using the tele spell. However you seem to forget that the tele spell yield 67 xp aswell. While the duell rings earn nothing. When we are talking 1000 runs that is an extra cool 67 000 magic xp, without using a second more than you would do if you used duel rings. That is time saved! Time = Money (Opportunity cost). (If you have accept aid on you also get free rides to moonclan island by people casting moonclan group tele quite a lot (world 70)) Also, if you have done the dream mentor quest you can use the bank in lunar isle (using the most eastern bank man) without a zeal of passage. --------- Sum up:, I would highly suggest that people use the moonclan teleport rather than duel rings. Less clicking, extra magic xp at the same time, no need to use time merching for rings, very slightly a little bit faster)

Hidden Updates
Yeah system update 20 mins ago. Also: (These are NOT hidden) System Update... We're rebooting the servers to fix a few issues, including the god wars dungeon, players who enter a boss area can only leave via the altar where they will be teleported to a 'relatively' safe place but still in the kill count zone for that particular boss. We've also fixed the broken hunting net trap near the new Z.M.I Altar. It'd got a bit too hot being close to the lava and had lost it's spring! Magic logs also have a new fletching animation to actually reflect their looks and a ship that was floating a bit too much has been fixed.

Why is tip.it behind Zybez on google?
It is because of the Price guide they have their. They get a lot of visitors just for that. Also they get TONS of requests from IRC scripts using their futures etc. Many people link to the price guide so they get boosted google ranks for being a "linked to hub". It adds up and they pass tip.it.
