  1. Jagex stated that this quest is to challeng the way everyone quested before. You know you have to rescue Silif, so dropping an armor set is just a bad idea. Personally, I never drop quest items because I have a feeling I'll somehow need them again before the quest is over. People were whining about the black elite armor not being reobtainable. The prior statement that this quest is to challenge questing method explains why. It's a pretty bad idea to drop it in the first place and even if it was lendable you couldn't borrow the entire set. People whining once again led Jagex to release a statement saying it's not a bug, it's in the quest design. The street price of elite armor is a product of greedy players. Jagex didn't set the GE price very high, so they aren't to blame for people wanting millions for armor jagex thinks is only worth about 300k.
  2. You get 5k the first time, 250 xp every time after that. I kill him for the blue charms everyday.
  3. I'll put down by color which I'd go with. Gold-fire giants Green-bloodvelds, dragons (especially iron) Crimson-waterfiends, rock lobsters, greater demons, black demons in chaos tunnels Blue-nothing really drops them often, but iron steel and black dragons drop them 2 and 3 at a time respectively when they drop them.
  4. I like the ogre enclave. It's always empty and you can telegrab what you want to keep. The wild is annoying due to revenants and brimhaven is often busy and you have to deal with wild dogs depending on your combat level.
  5. I'm 22, 23 in January. I find it fun, I know people who play RS with their kids, you're never too old. However, with a new baby you'll be taking a break from RS, you'll be very very busy.
  6. Have you been able to solo them? Because from what I've heard they're pretty hard to solo.
  7. Yup, it's the hunt for Surok minigame. You have to kill Bork to be able to wear them.
  8. I found range to be more affective with diamond (e) bolts than melee. My setup was guthans body and legs, helm of neitiznot, dragon boots, dragon square (didn't wanna risk the dfs), rune cbow, diamond (e) bolts, fury, ring of life (for insurance). I used about 12 sharks, but also brought a unicorn along, so without the unicorn it would've been more like 15 sharks. His attack styles change in the same pattern constantly. For me it was something like 3 hits with range, 3 with mage, 3 with melee repeat. So once I went through one round I could anticipate the attack type changes. I brought a whip for the demons afterwards (you need 2 different attack types since they pray), but they're not a problem since you'll be imbued with the power of the stone and thus have 200+ in all combat stats and hp and have a bunch of arma guardians helping you.
  9. All of the new gear from the quest can be worn by anyone with the mage/def/atk/whatever requirements. You have to do the quest to get your own stuff, but not to wear it. You can get it from other players.
  10. Use them on a mithril dragon.
  11. Okay, I have food, the restore pot, the second set of armor, and I spied on Dark Squall. How do I get Silif out?
  12. You need a mort myre fungus to catch him.
  13. I either superheat while I mine or use the blast furnace and make mith bolts. You'd make money just making steel bars or cballs too, but cballs are very very boring and less xp than any other steal item.
  14. You have to exercise it...in other words bring it to the rat pits or send it rat hunting.
  15. I can only see the harpoon, needle, and butterfly net as being worth using. The pick and axe not so much as dragon wc and rune pick...or an adze are better.
  16. I really hope so, the reindeer came in second didn't it? I really wanted that pet reindeer *crosses fingers*.
  17. Making summoning pouches is really fast once you get the charms. Salamanders are faster xp. Trees and fruit trees are the fastest xp. Cosmics. You could do chaos, but unless you use the abyss they're really really slow. Cosmics aren't too bad outside of the abyss if you can use the agility shortcut. If you're p2p you could make fires using a dueling ring to al kharid and to bank at castle wars, but it's slower xp than cosmics and they really don't sell.
  18. No they are the old ones. As soon as you get into the dungeon from the Mourner HQ just go North. 1 large circular room with about 8 beasts. Ah. I just include them as tunnel ones, cause they're technically in the tunnels. :P
  19. You mean the ones in the tunnels leading to the light temple and the death altar?
  20. I find that the clans section is biased towards combat clans and conclave requirements definitely are as well. There's not much that can be done about it other than perhaps making a clan events section, or even splitting up the clan forums into combat clans and everything else clans. I don't know how good an idea the latter would be though.
  21. You generally don't lose money on sapphire or ruby bracelets. People buy them to enchant and/or high alch. In fact, in most cases you can make money with them.
  22. No, gem tips only add an effect to the bolt when they're enchanted. They do not do anything to the bolts otherwise (meaning unenchanted).
  23. I died about 4 times because I wasn't going about it right and brought food and stuff...so I didn't even make it to Jad. Once I got my inventory and gear straight I got it on my first try.
  24. Pure skiller implies no combat. Skiller in general means someone with a high total level...someone who trains all skills (combat included). That's how it works in my book anyhow.
  25. The crystal bow is only better than a cbow if you're doing something like castle wars or clan wars where you don't want to worry about losing your arrows/bolts. For regular training, the rune cbow is better.
