Smelly, once you unlocked the door, where did you go from there? I unlocked the door with weights, but my quest guide still says "I have gone up the stairs and find another room."

Runescape 'Everests'
Every single cape has had at least one person obtain it untrimmed, so those are out of the question. Perhaps something more simple, such as, has anyone actually received a Dragon Half from a dwarf? Most people don't even know they drop them.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Actually I was refering to these FOG symbols: They do look like Saradomin, but also have a resemblance to Dragonkin. Also observing this, another interesting note... Saradomin's often claim other items for their own, such as the "Eye of Saradomin" (Stone of Jas), or Claiming that Saradomin created the world. The wise old man supports this fact. Its possible Saradomin might have stolen his symbol from the Dragonkin, as they symbols are quite simiar looking.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
That's a fantastic find! But before I can add it to the main post, Hippodo the washed up historian has to tell me exactly where he took that screenshot! Or someone else could I suppose. Beat him to it :P Here it is and another one Edit: And a Third AND fourth! The location is only accessible after "Summers End". Also this hints that Summers end could be a Pre-Req. To the new quest? This proves there is some sort of connection with the Dragonkin and the Stone of Jas, as they are both on the same Icon. Their connection likely wont be stated until the quest next week, but either way its interesting because it shows they both had to of been around the same time era. Also important. The Figure is etched in a castle, possibly built by the Dragonkin. Maybe this is the castle in the Robert the Strong cutscenes, now in ruins, rather than Drakan castle? So if that were so, then the portal is not in Drakan castle, but rather deep in the wilderness, or both. Either way, its intresting. Keep your eyes spotted for more of these symbols elsewhere. Perhaps take a walk around Drakan castle or more areas to see if any more show up? Edit2: Now that I think about it, the Dragonkin symbols look ALOT like the ones in the Fist of Guthix. We assumed they were Saradomin symbols, but maybe their not? Maybe they were Dragonkin symbols all along.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Hm.. Based on the form of the space between the anvils and the dragon skulls, it seems to me that you have to 'receive' something from the skull and use it on the anvils- Maybe to create dragon items we would have to create them there because the skulls (in which I would assume are furnaces ,or path TO a furnace, who knows...) and anvils (and ores??) can only be used to create such items? Of course, it is called "Dragon Forge" because of the skulls and by the other posts on this thread, but it's just a thought. Anyone have info on the 'examine' parts of the skulls? I think that the skulls themselves aren't furnaces, but that lava or water (for cooling) comes flowing out of the mouths, into the bassin, and when the bassin overflows, it can escape through those little trenches in the floor... [/hide] you mean this one? ;) In my opinion it resembles half of the (presumed) Stone of Jas from the Meeting History cutscene. Also, it looks a bit like the Fist of Guthix. It's interesting, but I wouldn't immediately call it the Dragonkin symbol. But it could be, as Jagex implied that the Kin symbol can already be found in the game, and this is the only mysterious symbol I can think of... Oh and Psycho Robot, imagine the Runecrafting skillcape emote, and replace the runes with some history stuff, thats what I'm doing at the moment, IN YOUR FACE!! Calling me a washed up historian, shame on you! :shame: Perhaps The Dragonkin symbol IS the stone of Jas? Perhaps meaning The dragonkin existed on this plane before Guthix and humans arrived. It is possible that "Jas" is/was a Dragonkin and Guthix used his/her stone to create things which the Dragonkin did not like (eg., Runes, Portals, Ect..). You can see the Dragonkin use magical attacks, so it is likely that the stone also had the same magical properties (eg. "Runes"). Certainly something to think about, that ties Dragonkin into the quest in a different way. If they are the makers/founders of the stone of Jas, its obvious they would have a HUGE impact in this quest.

Does "Skiller" really mean no combat?
By definition; I think a "Skiller" is a person who enjoys training non-combat skills in addition to combat skills. A "Pure Skiller" or "Level 3 Skiller" would refer to someone who only trains the non-combat skills. You don't have to have a high number of non-combat skills just to be a skiller, you only have to enjoy training them. People who only train combat and hate training skills, and only do because they have to, would be a "non-skiller". The same concept is with questers. A "quester" is someone who enjoys doing most/all of the quests, while a "non-quester" is someone who only does them because they have to, to obtain things they need.

DFHs in PvP - A bug... or not?
Re-Reading Mod Kathy's Post: I took a good look at the post, and noticed the entire post was referring to *drum roll* F2P. She read the context of the post as "HEY! I got a dragon full helm drop in a free world". It is human nature to misunderstand what a person is trying to explain, and she simply mis-understood. Everything she said is correct, in the view that she is talking about F2P PvP and NOT P2P. So she really didn't lie, she was just referring to something people didn't realize she was referring to. She may have also been confused on the actual drops (if she has no experience playing the game) and thus had a mis-communication. Either way, keep in mind this important part, I bet you missed it "Most drops will be normal items. There are rare drops, some of them permanent." This is more interesting to me, as it was not mentioned in the PVP drop information we were given from Jagex. Perhaps they are rotating rare drops such as DFS, DFH's, GS's or other expensive items in a way to not make the market crash completly? If so, it would be a good move on their part to keep prices somewhat balanced.

Dragon Full Helm - now a PVP drop (confirmed)
On one hand, while I do think that giving high level/cost drops to PVP is a good idea, I think it should have gone by differently. Jagex wanted to add expensive items to the drops, and at the time, the most viable options were DFH and DFS's, as they didnt want to be handing out Godswords or any boss weapon. Notice both the DFS and DFH are obtained by dragon monsters, and NOT BOSS monsters. Infact, no PVP item is obtained by a boss monster. However, I think they should have gone about things slightly differently. I think they should have made the new PVP armor the highlight of the drops, not DFS or DFH. They should have made the new armor degrade in 1 hour, but be able to be repaired, like barrows, but much faster degrading. These drops would have replaced the DFS and DFH on the drop table, and been a much better situation in my opinion. But like all items, I think once DFS and DFH drop enough, they will start being available to general use, and the price will rise. Dragon is not necessarily a "elite" item anymore, as 3rd age and other armors kinda took its place, but even at 10m for a DFH, its still not cheap for the average Joe of Runescape.

Dragon Full Helm - now a PVP drop (confirmed)
Dfire shield a PVP drop? I thought it plummeted coz of the new spirit shields and their uber sigils :x O M G This is really lame  Shield not a pvp drop. Actually. It is. And its about as common as the DFH is. My friend got one as well.

What would that be? Well you'd need 74, so larders is for anyone lower than that, but its Dungeon Doors. Each door is 10 planks (Opposed to the larder which is 8). Being that its 10, you can use the normal butler (which holds 20, opposed to 24 on demon) which saves you 5k every 160 planks, which adds up quickly. Ive tested both, doors is *slightly* faster, racking in a max of 200-250k xp/hr., and a heck of alot cheaper. The money you save could buy you a bunch more planks. Basically saves you 30k per 1k planks, which is almost 100 free planks for every 1k you do opposed to the other method.

Armadyl Guardian
Well if you can't be bothered to just read this topic, I'll explain it simple: There is a quest named Temple of Ikov. In this quest, a fellow named Lucien asks you to retrieve a special staff for him from a temple dedicated to the hero Ikov. After you've ventured deep into the dungeon, you meet a group of warriors loyal to the old, kinda unknown but good god Armadyl. You learn that Lucien is a bad man, and that the staff he wants is actually the Staff of Armadyl himself! Now you can choose: side with the Guardians of Armadyl and kill Lucien, or kill the Guardians, take the staff and give it to Lucien. The big news of the last few days is that if you've completed the quest, and you sided with the Guardians, you will suddenly see a messenger of Armadyl popping up, delivering a message from the leader of the Guardians, and then he dissappears again. Thats the whole piont, the story is completely unknown for me. I play on free worlds who i never left since i started playing (3+ years ago). The guardian is in my eyes a new sort of random event, because he is popping up like randoms do after some period of monotone work (i was doing that at that moment). As i see on pictures and also happened to me, the guardian is popping up in the Rimmington/Port sarim-area. One big difference with random event npc's, he is making up some buzz for a member quest. The letter he gave me is not opening a new quest, it's just a informing letter like you members also get. Maybe i should upgrade to membership. O well, that is just the mindtrick of Jagex... But thanks for your explanation Hippodo. This Guardian is not the first NPC to do this. I believe it is after Mournings End 1, that a messenger from the king sends a NPC randomly to you later on (not during the quest) that informs you, you are able to start the next quest (Mournings Ending 2). So this is just proving that The Temple of Ikov will be a Pre-Req. to the huge quest, because part of the story line will be involved in it. Basically all it means is Lucien will be involved in this next quest, which we kinda already knew.

Armadyl Guardian
[hide=About SoJ] Well, if the posts before are true and Movario is searching for the Stone of Jas, then that means that Lucien is basically trying to become one of the Elder Gods (gods stronger than Guthix, look them up on runewiki :ohnoes: ). My theory is that the fist of Guthix is the Stone, but just a hunch based on the designs of the fist and the cutscene from Making History. Mistress Seren is more than just made up of crystal. Not only is she the "divine" aspect of the Animal Mundi, but she ties directly with the Stone: the source of both magic AND the Animal Mundi. Quite frankly, I hope that one of the Elder Gods takes the stone from Geilinor forever; it's causing tension to build up dramatically. The quests are setting up the world like in a game of "squares"; the players keep drawing lines until it's impossible to NOT give a box to the other. The world will probably go into another gods war at this rate, but not before Kaqueemex and his druids are killed to prevent the Edicts of Guthix from following through  [/hide] Yes and no. The stone once was at the location of the "Fist of Guthix" (which was one a Saradomin camp) but is long gone hidden somewhere else. Most sources we have, Including the Oracle, Juna, and other NPC's point that the stone is currently hidden deep in the lumbridge caves, possibly at the Tears of Guthix. As for the Fist of Guthix, how the story goes, Guthix used the stone at the fist to be the end all, of the 3rd age god wars. "Slamming his Fist" down (either physically or metaphorically) he used his powers, and possibly the stone, to stop the groups from fighting. My guess is Guthix slammed the stone into the ground (hence fist of Guthix), he threatened to destroy the stone if the groups continued fighting. They stopped and he then hid the stone away from the world, while the fighting no longer took place. Now that Guthix has been gone awhile, these evil characters are trying to regain their footholds they once had pre-3rd age wars. Also Judging by a few references like the one from Hazelmere, it appears there will be a war type of event about to occur in the north, but We will be accompanied by someone (of great slayer importance) to help stop the wars in the north before they begin. A quest like this covers so many sides and is so big, I have a feeling its going to involve almost every faction and group during the quest. We have the Gnomes wanting to destory the humans, with the elves help (possibly with a Maj.'s Help), Draken looking to get over the Salve, Zem looking to crush Varrock again, Lucien plotting getting his hands on the stone before every else, and some of the other Maj's out in the world, we dont even know where. I feel like this quest may leave more questions than it will answer.

Lasting Value of F2P PVP
I think the simple solution to balance it out is to simply give snare to F2P. I mean snare is only level 50. And no P2P in their right mind who can engangle would use snare. It would certainly balance out the F2P Mage, without overpowering it since your not changing the max hit at all, your simply changing its advantage over warriors, since rangers can hit from afar anyways. But I will agree currently the F2P triangle is a tad messed up. But thats partially because Jagex dosent worry about balancing F2P. They say if you want a more balanced triangle, go to members. But I still think giving F2P snare would solve 90% of the issues without overpowering the F2P Triangle.

Jagex appoints THQ Creative Director as Head of RuneScape
Maybe so, but this game isnt 13+. Its 13+ without the supervision of a parent. People 12- are still allowed to play, they just have to be "supervised". According to Jagex anyways. OT: But I think this may be a good thing. Bringing someone new in always brings in new ideas. Now if they are *good* ideas, well. Thats another story  We'll just have to wait and see.

I need help with Fishing!!!! :(
If your only planning on going to the fishing guild, I recomend doing fly fishing to get there. Its quick and wont take to long. As for higher levels or going for 99, I recomend switching to monkfish, as in the end, the loss of 1-2 weeks in speed is made up by the 20M+ you will earn fishing monks going to 99.

Rare demand once again?
Initally no, as I think alot of high cash players will be spending money on the new high level equipment. But considering all that money is going somewhere, the money is not really "lost" in the economy and is just being transfered from 1 person to another. So skillers cashing in, or players who get a large number of high level drops might find their cash racking up enough to start taking in rares, when they previously might not have been able to do so. But I see the rare market as staying the same mostly. Maybe a slight increase, but this new type of pking, depletes armor and weapons from the economy unlike the old pking. So that will rise armor/weapon/food costs long term as well. So its difficult to judge at this point how it will effect the "super wealthy".

PVP: To pray or not to pray
Not similiar at all...94 mage requires a lot of time which some players don't have the ability to spend on the game. 43 prayer can be obtained in a few hours of play. So you're saying because I have at least 30 mage, I should be able to tele from every pvp fight. Yes. If they dont teleblock you, that is their fault. What is the difference between running away to teleporting? Nothing. Same appliation applies to running away. If we dont freeze you or hold you, its our fault because we didnt come prepared for every situation. Using the enviroment to your advantage is also a tactic. No different than using the tactic to "pure" your skills, and no different than using the tactic to "pray". Lets face it, nobody wants to die, and nobody wants to lose items. And people are going to use every resouce they can to prevent them from doing so (either it be Offence or Defensive). Notice the majority of people who are complaining about prayer are the pures who use one type of combat and dont hybrid. And it dosent matter how long it took to reach the skill, its how it effects a PvP battle. Like 3hitu said, not using prayer is like not using barrage with 94 mage in a combat situation. If you wanna go strickly 1v1 melee using just rune, thats fine, all the hands off to you. But when I pull out mage on you, and you dont have Dhide, its your fault for not being prepared, and you deserve the consiquences. Same application for prayer. If I pull out prayer on you, and you decide to either pray or run, I better be prepared for both situations. And using prayer only hurts the player who is using a single combat. Its a personal advantage over someone. Isnt that what a pure is supposed to be? A stastical advantage over someone to be able to over power them? Prayer is just the opposite side. Instead of using a pure to hit harder than an opponent, you are limiting the damage your opponent can do to you. So how you can say a pure is logical, but prayer is not. Its the same methodology (sp?). Sure it makes you hit less if they are praying, but only if you are hitting with the combat type they are praying against. If you dont hybrid, its your fault, and our personal advantage. The same type of personal advantage a pure hopes to have over a standard player. The time of single-type pures has long gone, and it is a new age of hybrids and full combat triangle users. If you chose not to adapt, you will be left in the dust. EDIT: Go and look up videos and stats of great pkers of the past. EVERY SINGLE ONE of them hybrids. EVERY one. If you hybrid, prayer is not an issue, and thus makes your entire argument invalid. Just because you choose to limit yourself to 1 form of attack, then why should we not take this advantage on you and pray? To put it in terms you might understand: If your pure has a higher str than someone else your level, why should you not take advantage of the higher str level and attack him? If you disagree that prayer can be used as an advantage against someone who uses 1 type of attack, then you are also saying pures have no advantage over someone else with lower combat stats, and thus that pures would be useless to have. You cant have one of the other, they are both the same concept.

F2P Melee Overpowered Now?
Of course. They're a company. Their job is to get as much money as possible. I'm going to comment on this, it's off-topic. (nothing to do with jagex) Obviously all companies try to make money, but that's not the point. What matters is how a company goes about making money. Some companies are dishonest and make money using cheap materials and dishonest claims in order to fool the client. Some companies make quality products, are honest to their clients and make money because of their loyal customer base. Basically, it's the difference between walking into a grocery store and buying a "premium"(according to company's claim) chocolate bar for 5$ that's actually made with crappy ingredients that damage your health, and going into a specialized and buying a truly premium chocolate bar made with healthy ingredients for that 5$, or slightly bit more. In this example, company whos making crappy bars and selling them for a higher price under false pretenses are a bunch of [wagon]. Company whos making the good chocolate bar is making less profit, but their product is good and they're not trying to trick people, making them worth respect and I'd have be happy to give them my money for their good products. And the fact that a company is made to make money doesn't excuse them doing immoral stuff. Thats a good analogy, which I agree with, except 1 imporant point. There are people buying the good quality chocolate bars that dont like the taste. So they complain to the company the recepie needs to be changed. But some people like the current ingredients. This is the delema we have. A few people buying the bars, but complaining on how they taste bad. You could say if you dont like the taste of the bar, dont buy it, but that would be saying, if you dont like the updates, dont play Runescape. Jagex just use the flavor of bar most people will like to increase their profits while making the majority of people happy. But there will always be someone who dosent like the taste. OT: These melee updates dont really overpower F2P to much as they vanish after a short time. If anything FOG overpowers F2P much more than these weapons do.

Forget this degrade BS, F2P now deserves dragon weapons...
I disagree with sharing perm. dragon items with F2P and allowing them to repair corrupt items for 2 reasons. 1) Dragon items will be, and will always be p2p only. Corrupt dragon items are not really "dragon items", as they only share the name, design, and some of the stats. The thing that makes dragon items unique is specials, which corrupt dragon items don't have, respectfully. Think of these new corrupt items as barrows items for f2p. However to balance the power they have over the F2P community, they vanish after a short use. This is a good thing (see argument below on point #2). 2) All the new items (Corrupt and new P2P armor/weapons) were designed for 1 purpose. PVP combat. The reason they are not repairable is to prevent people from using them to train on NPC's with. These are NOT training weapons, and Jagex took steps to make sure they wont be used for training to keep things balanced. This is why they vanish, and why they will not be changed. Also, these weapons are twice as powerful as current F2P weapons. Making them repairable would only raise the playingfield for everyone, which dosent make sense for F2P. Why allow them to hit 30+ a majority of the time with little risk, when the higest healing food on F2P is 16. There has to be some sort of limit on it to keep them out of control, which Jagex added as a depletion timer. I hate to say it, but F2P will always get the short end of the stick when it comes to updates, simply because, Jagex wants people to become members and not stay F2P. Why is the KO potential low on F2P? Because if it was high on F2P, why pay members to PK? Jagex is a company, and not a public service, so its clear they would want to turn as many people as possible to members, respectfully. Giving F2P just a short taste of what members are capeable of, is one way of doing this. So no, I dont think anything needs to be changed, or will be changed from how it currently is. Degrading weapons are a high cost/risk weapon that gives you a higher chance to ko your opponent. NOT designed just for general use. Its PVP only, along with all the new items that came out.

The New Spells
Heh, I think you're talking about me. And yes, I did get my wish. This seems to me as a very powerful and yet very expensive species of spells, but I think that they should only reduce ranged speed by 25%. I agree. Infact if it were up to me, I would make a few changes myself. Currently the staff is much to hard to obtain, and it will even harder to get as less and less people pk after the initial rush of everyone trying the new pvp. For this reason I think the spells should be castable with just the runes, and the staff is the only thing that can auto-cast the spells. And to balance that, I agree it should be a 0-25% reduction against rangers and 50% against melee.
