  1. Heh, post that on the RSOF wonder how fast astrals go up. Ive seen many people who use the humidify spell for magic training, and it does in fact make a bit of money, but if lots of people start doing this, the profits will most likely turn into loss due to lessened demand for vials with the stock so high Yes the issue with the demand is, the people who are buying the waterfilled vials (Herblorists). If the herblorists dont have a demand for the vials, because nobody wants to buy their potions, then all the parts of this method will suffer. Also, the problem with people using it to train, is the fact it does whole inventories at once, so the vials add up very quickly. Only 100 casts will give you ~2700 vials. If alot of people did this, they would instantly flood the market with vials more than any of the herblorists would need. That being the case, it would then flood the astral rune market as the people using it wouldnt be able to afford filling more vials, and so on. So while its a small market now, once people start to find out about it, they are going to flood the markets and dump all the prices down the drain.
  2. Jagex did do their research on other ways to elimnate RWT. Unforunatly the only way to KILL RWT completly is what they have done. If you did as you proposed, RWT would simply move to combat item/armor sales, and not for rs gp. They are like roaches. If you destory their home, they just adapt and move on to a new location, and then multiply, multiply, multiply. Really theres not much more Jagex can do. It was either a bouty hunter type game, or PKing with no drops at all. I think they chose the lesser of the two evils. EDIT: Actually he said: Nothing about items more than 3k. If you had a 3k item limit, you wouldnt be able to bring any armor/weapons greater than iron/bronze into the wilderness.
  3. While lootshare is indeed spreading drops over time, you also have to see the very important flaw in this. Yes. Lootshare does indeed distribute drops evenly, however where the issue comes in is the fact that once everyone logs off, and the lootshare is turned off, the even distribution is reset. Example: Say your team (A, B, C, and D) goes to Bandos. Player A recieves a hilt and player B recieves a shard. They all go to bed. Next day they head up again... NOW, your logic would be saying that since A and B got the hilts and shards the day before, C and D would get them the next day, but the flaw is, when you loggout, the distribution is reset. So on day 2, player A and B could again get all the drops (or A and C, B and A, ecct..). Simply the point is, These drops are to far and few between to have an effective use with Lootshare. Lootshare's current design is more geared towards getting alot of drops in a short ammount of time and splitting them evenly. With Places like GWD, or KQ, you dont get that many drops in a period of loggin time. KQing with a partner, you may only get maybe 10 drops a night. The odds of getting 2 chain drops in that 10 kills is highly unlikly. So, player 1 and player 2 KQ for 5 days. (Assuming you would get 1 chain every night which is higly unlikly) Player 1 could get 4/5 of all the chain drops over the corse of 5 days. Thats the flaw with lootshare. Its not a bad system at all, just needs to have some minor tweaks.
  4. Then where would ravens and vultures come from if not Raven and Vulture eggs? True, but just because an egg grows into a bird, dosent mean the egg cant be used in summoning to summon an bird snake monster. Think back to the Tower of Life, which was said to be Jagex's test for summoning. In the tower, you need several materials which COMBINE to make strange monsters. The same could be told for summoning. Perhaps the bird egg is only 1 ingredient of the summon. Maybe you need like 1 snakeskin, and 1 birds egg to create the creature. Or, have to incubate the egg into a small chick, and then can use it with a snake skin combo to summon the monster, who knows. Its kinda a shot in the dark since we dont really know exactly what summoning will be like. So its impossible at this point to say it will or will not be used for it.
  5. ok. looking at the image in the diary. Abvously the one on the left is a regular egg. The Red, Blue and Green are birds eggs. And the White on the Right is a Vulture, and Middle is a Raven. So that leaves 1 egg left. The 2nd to the left. It looks like its kinda covered in snow? So the kill-able Birds still not yet used for Eggs: Ape Toll Birds Chombies Jubblys Entrana Fire Bird Phesant Terror Bird Pernicious Parrot Oomlie Bird Tenacious Toucan Warped Terrorbird Any ideas on others?
  6. True, but not really.. While you may be 12 cmb levels higher than any f2p player, if you cant use any of the summoning spells in f2p that 12 levels would mean nothing. If anything it would Hinder p2p as they would have higher combat with lower *Traditional* combat stats that could be used in f2p. So Technically, if summoning was p2p only it would only hurt the p2p pking on f2p rather that hurting f2p. This might be more of a push to keep p2p'ers off f2p pking worlds.
  7. It was a bug, I saw it the day the GE came out and reported it to bug abuse, just took them awhile to go back and remove it.
  8. You seam to be missing the problem. Yes. Jagex got rid of MOST of the RWT, but the keyword is most. There are still meathods of RWT'ing out there, just not with GP and items. The biggest problem now is account selling for rl cash, as no in-game trading is needed for this. RWT'ers are now going to auto skills for money and levels to put on accounts, and then sell the accounts. If you take the randoms out, you are just encouraging them to use auto's to train up accounts to sell. Same with leaving things like the pure ess in. You allow them to auto things to make up big money. They will not EVER remove randoms or change previous updates for that very reason. Plain and simple.
  9. You bought 99 ranged, that doesn't make you any better than somebody who bought 99 cooking or fletching. First of all, i bought 90-99 range. Second, it does. Lemme show you. 90-99 Range: 30-40m 99 Fletching:500k? And yes, i factor in all that time i spent barrowing for that 30-40m. So yea, it does make me better, sorry. I disagree. Let me post this example. Comparing 99 range and 99 fletching is like comparing getting Gold CW armor, and full VK armor. While the CW armor might take a long time, and be very expensive (If you used Ice barrages) and the VK armor you dont lose much money and its relativly short, dosent make VK armor any less glorious. Ya its cheaper, and quicker, and more people have it, but its still an achievment. I know plenty of people that cant get 99 fletching, simply because they cant stand to spend hours grinding to get a cape. Point being, comparing capes is simply saying your better than someone else because you have a cape which is more rare. This is not the case, or at least shouldnt be. All capes deserve to be respected. Look at how many people have 99 strength.. Almost as much as cooking and fletching, but you dont see anyone saying "HA you have 99 Strength your cape is nothing.." Also, it depends on how the player obtains the skill. If a person cuts all their mages to 99 wc, then fletchs them all to 99 fletching, I would consider this much more glorious than a person who simply bought 99 range. Its not just the level, but how you got it that matters.
  10. Found it on another forum. Its so cute and cuddly I had to share.
  11. Jagex. You fixed the tire.. Replaced the windowsheild, but the glass dosent fit. And the car.. its still on fire.
  12. Also remember, a cannon stays in its place till you loggout. To get the cannon there saftly, (Unskulled) Bring your 4 cannon parts to the abyss, and keep item protection on while you get there. No food and no other items, and a tele. With protect item on, if you do get pked while going to set your cannon up, you will keep all 4 peices. So go in, set it up, then tele out. Bank, and head back into the abyss with your cballs, food, armor, and such. Then just rebank when out of cballs/food. Easy as pie :)
  13. An imporant note: Until the Skill is released you dont know what will be used for it. There may already be ample supplies for summoning out there, we just dont know it because they arnt very useful. Say Bricks were used to summon a "Brick monster" (lol). You wouldnt know to collect these ahead of time, but looking back after the skill is released you might think differently. Jagex would allow ample of items needed for a skill to enter the game ahead of time, it might just be under our very noses.
  14. And is the KBD any different? But people kill him? To some people its about the thrill of killing monsters, not the drops.
  15. Without a doubt the Funniest of them all ^^ I didnt come up until the 2nd group headed up at 5 after, but got there in time to just pick off the last of the enemies :) Died at the end, but it was worth it :)
  16. I said that... I didnt say it was a small ammount, but in the scheme of things, 200, 300B is not alot in the RS economy. Think about it this way. Lets say 100,000 people play rs a day doing some sort of combat. Each day at least 1 time they get a coin drop from a monster. Each coin drop is at least 50gp. That means each day a Minimum of 5M gp can enter the economy, just from coin drops. This dosent include 500e from randoms, ect.. And thats all just small guestimated numbers, and just 1 drop. The real values would be much higher than this. Again also true, but the higest store item (magic stone) is about 1M. And dont forget these items are typically one time use. You buy one, or a couple and never have to buy any again. Its a small depletion in the large scheme of things. EDIT: Im not arguing that construction dosent deplete any money at all, or dosent deplete alot of money. My point was that Construction does not deplete as much money as people think from the economy. More proving the point that when people trade items from player to player, money is not being moved out of the economy.
  17. Another important point to remember is... Randoms, Alching, Picking up GP from drops, and Selling items to stores are the ONLY way gp enters the game. When you mine a coal ore for example, you are NOT bringing money into the game, you are simply creating an item that is used to transfer money from person A to person B. A easier diagram to understand: 1) Person A mines 1 coal ore. 2) Person A Sellings 1 coal ore to Person B for 150gp. 3) Person B uses that coal ore to make something. Unless person B sells that item he/she made to the bank, absoutly no form of money entered/exited the game. Items you get from barrows, GWD, any item drop, any raw material simply are placeholders to circulate gp from person to person. So really the inflation of GP is not as great as people believe. If you think about coal for our example, how many years did it take for it to raise from 80gp, to 150gp. 3, 4 years? Thats a long time for only a small ammount of gp. And as for construction, while alot of people think construction takes alot of money out of the economy.. think about it again, now that you know about placeholders. You could pay 600e for all your oak planks to buy out 99, but really only 250gp is taken out each oak plank you use. Why? The oak plank is simply xfering money from one person to another. Only the action of giving gp to the sawmill is taking money out of the game. It dosent do as much damage to the economy as people think.
  18. Your logic is a bit weird so a irl example its not the drug dealers fault for supplying them with drugs its the ppl buying it from him? :-k Yes and thats correct because.. if nobody bought it, then nobody would be selling it? Its easier to blame the sellers for the buyers problem, but in this day and age, if someone is going to buy something, someone is going to sell it.
  19. The  is a (useless) Fairy Ring. Don't know what the :!: is though :-k The :!: is the slayer dungeon, you can access it by the Eyes of Glourphine quest and grappling over the tree west of CW. The Fairy ring is also not (completly) useless as its one of the 4 combinations you need to dial to get to the fairy queen in the Fairy Tale: Part 2 quest. Also a good spot for alching and getting away from noobs :)
  20. While Jagex said it would help some in combat, they didnt specify which type of combat (PvP or PvE). Most likley Summoning will be simiar to Lunars in the effect that certain spells (Or summons) cannot be cast in the wild. My guess is its main use in combat will be for PvE monster hunting. And is also sounds like 90% of it will be non-combat related. At least thats how the Diary sounded while explaining it. But its all speculation until the actual update comes.
  21. #-o Anyways.. Jagex hasnt just been after RWT, they have also been after scamming, and unfair play. (Removal of Luring, Assistance, ect..) I belive this this an anti-scam update more than a RTW update. Im sure theres something hidden behind the update and Gravestones are just a fancy way to cover it up. As someone mentioned before, Its logical that the pile only appears to the PKer and eveyone else sees the Tombstone. Going by this, that means that even afer 60 seconds ONLY the killer and person who was killed will be able to see the pile. This means nobody could PJ and loot either player. You could PJ, but unless you PJ'ed with the most damage you wouldnt get the drop. This sounds more logical and a direct attack against PJ scammers. This is what I believe the update is ACTUALLY for. Not an attack at PK'ers, but actually HELPING them against PJers.
  22. So your saying.. A) Because shark prices change with supply and demand. Its "Flawed"? B) While 5% may be a bit excessive, if there was no lower limit, prices would drop so rapidly it would kill the market over night. People would sell lower and lower until the entire market for that item was gone.
  23. Too bad you lost :uhh: I love small games though PS: Barrows is a walk in the park Grads! Yes without a doubt black Dragonhide is the most versitle armor in the game giving nice defence bonuses to almost all sides of the triangle.
