  1. That would be correct. But also remember "rare" and "valuable" are not the same thing. Rare simply means uncommon. For example with the following statment. A Steel aarow boss drop is a rare SGWS drop. So even though your dial may spin on "rare", (using SGWS as an example), the "rare" dial list may consist of a R2h, Steel aarons, coins, SS, or S Hilt. The ROL would only slightly increase your chances of getting the SS or S hilt over the R2H, but would have no effect on getting a SS over a normal drop from the first dial. So really to clarify. A Ring Of Wealth does NOT increase your chances for a rare drop.* The correct phrase would be: The Ring of Wealth slightly increases your chances that a rare drop will be more valuable. *Sidenote: The reason I say this statement is false is because Jagex themselves confirmed the ring only effects the second dial. Therefore, the ring would have no effect making the first dial spin on "rare" more often. Technically, Jagex's statement is correct, but only to a certain extent. I just think they simply just worded it in a funny way.
  2. At this point, everyone who was training summon by tears of guthix only is reaching the level 40-50 range. So now we are seeing a larger number of people just using them for fun since they have the levels. Also, the average scaper who is training summon is now reaching about level 70. So they have a wide variey of familars to chose from and are using them. Its now become more publicly accepted to use summons everywhere. Its the reverse of what happened in the past. People use to make fun of others for training their summon before, but now people see how cool/useful the skill is, and its accepted that you need to use summons in certain situations, and sometimes even required. Also, it depends where you look. Edgeville is one of the summon hubs of Runescape. RC'ers use summons there, Slayers bank there with bunyips, People going to GWD often bank there, along with any general traffic. Really depending on your location your going to see alot more of them in some areas.
  3. I would like a summon item counter, like so: In the middle on the bottom above the BoB button it would count how many items the familiar is currently carrying or how many items the familiar has produced.
  4. You guys do have a very valid point. Doing that would work, but I can see problems with that. Such as, say you get kicked out of a CC, do you all of a sudden find yourself soloing Bandos? I think it would be very complicated to introduce. Also a point you might want to think about. We have yet to see a boss added into the game since GWD. As the number of monster hunters are on the rise, I think adding a new boss would be a helpful addition.
  5. Ya, the price is based mostly on speculation and not necessarly always supply and demand of the item. The merchanters control the market now. Likley Scenario: Person A is trying to merchant and wants to sell GS for max. Person B gets hilt drop from GWD and has enough money to purchase BGS. Person B is impatient and decides to buy on Max. Person B buys from person A in GE on Max. G.E. Price goes up. Person A, and C (both merchanters) see the price is going up, and think, if they buy one on max today, it will push the price up, and they can sell tommarow on max for +1m more. Person A and C both buy BGS on max. Price goes up. Players D and E now see the BGS rise and think they can make a quick buck the same way A and C did, so A, C, D, and E all buy a BGS. Price goes up. And so the cycle continues. Merchanters buying from merchanters. The whole merchanter rise is like a game of hot potato, whos gunna get stuck with it being unsellable at the end. It will continue to go up until it reaches a point where merchanters dont wanna risk the prices anymore, or they fear the price is to high and people will stop buying them. Then it will drop in a similar pattern. Everyone puts on min because they are unsellable so everyone tanks the item, starts the junk trading speculations, and the price plumets. Later on it goes back up, so its very much like the stock market. It will go up and go down in a natural cycle. All the items in the GE follow this pattern. The only ones that dont are the ones that are either overpriced, unsellable, or have no demand.
  6. Annoying as it may be, remember you can always train and go to different bosses. Bandos will always be crowded being as it is the easy'est boss to kill with groups, and has good overall drops. A simple change could make bandos obsolete, but the change dosent need to come from bandos. The reason people do bandos and not zammy is because bandos has good overall drops. Almost every singe one of bando's drops is worth over 20k. Most of zammy's drops are worth less than 10k. All they need to do is raise the overall zammy drops to that of bandos, and people will split between zammy and bandos, making worlds alot less crowded since you will have 2 basic options. The 3'rd option is to always train your skills higher for GWD Bosses. Sara is by far the best GWD boss out there right now. With a good 4-5 man team you can camp at sara for over 6 hours. I have personly been there with a 5 man group for 6.5 hours. Ara is the boss if you want super big drops, but sara's drops overall ushally pay for the trips themselves even if you dont get a rare drop. Regardless, they need to change zammy's overall drops and that will solve alot of the problem right away.
  7. Dont flame him when he's just sharing information. Maybe some people didnt know? Thats what this forum is about. Sharing Information. If you dont have anything to contribute to the discussion dont post. Maybe be constructive and post other ways the ring can be useful? Anyways OT: I have found the ring is really useful getting to DK's. Being able to run constantly through the dungeon really helps save prayer and time getting past the whole area. And 150% run energy is enough to get you all the way to the end. Another use is in pyramid plunder, if your agility is a little lower, and you *just* run out of energy after a few runs, the ring can help get you through your training without having to walk if you dont want to spend money on energy potions. It is really amazing for f2p since f2p dont have any access to a glory. So its really a teleport to draynor for them. Very useful. I think people dont give this ring as much credit as you should. It has many small uses that can really be helpful.
  8. FYI, you cant lend DFS or Barrows Armor.
  9. if i am correct is the godsword #-o Actually its the Stone of Jas, but thats a different story.
  10. Also note the SS is an ideal weapon to take to SGWD if you dont have the money for a SGS/ZGS. Mainly because it counts for a sara item, its useful for KC and Growler, and has decent offence stats/speed. Think of it as the Bandos Boots of Sara Equipment. GWD combined with its ability to train str at a high rate, and usefullness at waterfiends makes it expensive and worthwhile.
  11. It has come to my attention, with verification of several other witnesses and several forum mods, there is a very serious bug with the new bank update. Many people have comfirmed their valuable items have been lost forever. The Bug: Sometimes when depositing an item, instead of going in your bank, the item will be dropped on the ground without taking you out of the bank screen. There are confirmed reports of people closing their banks and items they thought they deposited appearing on the ground. If you do not pick up the item, it WILL vanish. This bug happened to a friend of mine and she lost her DFS, so it IS real, and IS very serious. Jagex has not yet fixed this, and will not return any items lost, so I would advise everyone to keep a close eye on their valuable items.
  12. Putting aside summons, faming, pots, or any other add-ons; and looking strictly at the skill itself, you will see WC and Fishing are very close. The only major considerable difference I can see is that WC requires competition among trees, while fishing does not. In WC, when a higher level comes in, he is going to make your wc slightly slower, since he is cutting trees down faster, and thus making you wait longer between spawns. This is espeically evident in mages which take a long time to respawn. In Fishing, the fishing spots rotate on a regular basis regardless of how many people are fishing. So as long as you pay attention, you have no competition with people stealing your fish. Now you do get random events like whirlpools, and the big fish, but the fishing spots are instant respawns and dont take near the time as it takes a mage tree to respawn. That is the only major benefit I can see in fishing vs. WC. Looking at other bonuses, if you have a high summon level it helps both skills, each with their own benefits: 80 Summon: A Hyrda Familiar will regrow your personal trees. If you have 75 farming and 80 summon you can basically farm your own tree close to a bank without any competition and no waiting. 74 Summon: A Granite Lobster Familiar will fish sharks and swordfish with you giving you xp for it, in addition to giving you a constant (hidden) +6 fishing bonus. Both these familiars give high bonuses to both skills, so its really the players preference.
  13. Thats a quote from BTS. The Knight is from the new tutorial. Doubful he would be used for anything else.
  14. We have 2 weeks left this month, and there are still 2 updates left in the BTS we havent seen yet. 1) Spirit of Summer (Wilderness Quest) 2) Players' Gallery and Postbag from the Hedge They said the Wilderness quest would be the last update this month so likley we will get the Player's Gallery next week, and the Quest the week after. They dont have anything else planned besides that. If you think theres a new skill or anything this month you are wrong. Jagex said they would annouce any upcomming skills, and even if they didnt, they would give suttle hints that there was something. So no, unless a wilderness quest is a whole new skill (Which it's not) then there will be no new skill this month. Sorry to burst your bubble.
  15. But look. He says: "people are asking for money for this service" In this thread, nobody is asking for money. They are all offering money without anyone requesting. So "technically" this is not against the rules because nobody is requesting you *have* to give money for lent items. Soo, this thread is technically not against the rules. k? :
  16. Actually the ring could be VERY useful. If it has 3 charges for 50% run energy, I could see this being used at sara GWD ALOT. Because ROL with groups are useless, this would make a very good option for a sara GWD ring, plus its an additonal teleport out if its ring 3?
  17. FM does have very few uses at the moment, and only 2 of which actually *make* profit. But its not the only skill which isnt complete after like level 70-80+. Changes I would like to see made, is making an actual use of the byproducts, eg. Ashes. Instead of just "Ashes", each log should have its own type of ashes. eg. Magic Ashes, Yew Ashes.. ect. Each ash would have a different use tieing into different skills. Making it somewhat profitable/less of a loss. Magic Ashes - 2nd Ingredient for Phoenix Summon Yew Ashes - 2nd Ingredient for Herblore Potion? Mahogany Ashes - 2nd Ingredient for Construction Related Summon Maple Ashes - Other Uses? Ashes - Current Uses Another possible idea is to make throwing sticks you could set on fire as a ranged weapon. This would also tie into fletching. Example fletching 1 magic log into 10 throwing sticks. You could set them on fire for additional magic based damage.
  18. This is a Sara Sword (SS): This is a Sara God Sword (SGS): As you can see there are many phisical differences, but I can see how some people who dont know alot about them, get them mixed up. The SGS is a much more powerful weapon that a SS, which is why a SGS is almost as expensive as a AGS. The SS is basically the rune long when the SGS is a dragon long. SS hits faster but has lower stats. Both have special attacks which are useful, which is why SS is about 9M and SGS is about 97M.
  19. 11v11 High level clan war from a few weeks ago. Just got around to posting it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhOnkd_yGfc&fmt=18
  20. While I agree that you should never use your RS password for anything else than runescape, I can assure you this is not a scam either 99% of the time. #1) For example, The clan I'm in requires you to apply on our clan forum with your Runescape Name. I know many clans require the same because its easier to keep track of people that way. So honestly, a clan requesting you to apply with your username dosent necessarly mean its a scam. #2) If they are using a forum such as invisionfree or some free forum like that, they CANNOT even look at the password you applied with. This dosent mean its safe to use your runescape password, but keep in mind any password you use they cannot see what it is. Custom forums like Tipits are a little different, but most clans dont have custom forums like tipit. #3) I know when recruiting people, sometimes the website is kinda hard to find and recruiters can be a bit pushy on trying to get you to find the site. This is also not necessarly a sign of scamming. Overall, i think your just thinking to hard in the matter. Above all never use your runescape PASSWORD as another password. However I can tell you alot of the clans out there will require you to sign up with your RSN. So dont freak out when they ask you this, its not ushally leading to a scam. As long as you dont use your Runescape password, having your RSN means nothing to them. They could easily look down a tipit member list and find a random RSN. As long as you dont use your runescape password and never give any hints to it, you are 100% safe.
  21. Its a little complicated to get at first, but once you get the hang of it, its pretty easy. There are 2 ways really to do it. I personaly do method #1. 1) Start on the west side, gather them, walk past the safespot, keep walking to the east and stop just before you see a giant stlagmite on the north wall of the cave (Not the safespot one, but the one east of it towards the up ladder). you should have 6 on you currently. Now quickly run along the wall to the east side of that stlagmite. You will get the last lob to the east, but lose another, so run back west quickly (it will get faster when you get the hang of it) and the previous lobster you just lost will once again be on you, getting all 7 on you. 2) Start to the east, and collect all the ones on the east side, stop just west of the safespot and burst the ones once that are currently on you to freeze them. Then continue west to get the remaining ones, go back and you should have all 7 as well. #2 will take an extra burst while #1 will not, but its all up to your personal preference. Heres the Video to see a live example of both methods: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_KKq06126M
  22. Well the point was just to see if they hit 0's all the time as i was told, but i still got hit 31-28-27-13 no matter if i ran away from it, or were within melee range. The armour doesn't matter since i was intended to die there, so didn't wanted to bring good armour, just took some on, to last a little longer, to test the breath thing out... Ya, but remember the firebreath is mage based. So by wearing mith armor, mage is going to be significantly accurate on you. Also your mage level is your mage defence. From what I remember, people in those vids had high mage levels = high mage defence. They also wore monk robes which has a much higher mage defence than metal armors. Brining something like dhide/monks robes and praying melee would be much more effective.
  23. Ya, thats why I don't like that spot when I'm bursting. Sure, it has a possible 1 or 2 more lobsters, but you have the constant fear of the walli and dags on you, d/c, not set up the spot correctly, or take to much damage and you could easily lose everything on a trip. Thats why I perfer the other spot past the DK ladders. Theres only 7 there, but the safespot is twice as safe and takes almost 1/2 the time to set up the lobs for bursting since its a much smaller room. Also nothing but the lobsters inside, so no dags or walli's to worry about. But thats just my opinion. GL on 99 summon.
