  1. Either I'm reading this wrong or basically what they're saying is Summoning doesn't effect Combat in BH? I can use a Steel Titan and be Level 112 (not 124) in BH? Yes. Summoning no longer effects combat in BH, since you cannot use summon in BH anyways. It makes more sense this way, since its not a level available to you to use inside BH.
  2. Forums? Its not that, its just the demand is so great right now, there are simply not enough sharks available right now at the rate people are losing/consuming them. It takes 10-20 mins to fish a full load of sharks, and less than 2 mins to use/lose a full load. Give us skillers a week or two and things should start to return to normal, just going to take some time to reach the current demands.
  3. No, its not, read the price menu next time. http://itemdb-rs.runescape.com/viewitem ... 83&scale=1 It says "The graphs for this item's trade history are currently out of date. Please check back in a few minutes." They are simply updating the price changes which is why it is currently 0. Since it hasent been updated yet since the pk update was introduced yesterday. Its not 0, nor is it locked, its just currently out of date while they change it.
  4. Think of it like barrows items for F2P. And keep in mind its 30 minutes of combat, not 30 mins period. If you only use the dds a few seconds each fight, for its specials, it will last you quite a number of fights(assuming you dont lose it).
  5. Dosent really change much. Infact its actually more helpful to the summon skill. As you need to have a familiar out to increase in combat. It gives people more incentive to use summons. And for high level payers, it wont matter much, because when your summon level is high enough that it makes a major difference (60+), the famliars you can summon are able to help you out. What high level does slayer/monster training without a bunyip/uni these days anyways? It just gives you one more advantage when actually USING summon, not just having the level for some extra numbers.
  6. Uh, And this is different from the old wilderness how? Your meant to PK in these worlds, not lolly around and pick daisies. OT: W00T! I cant wait to try out pking :)!! It actually looks like alot of fun, and drops dont look half bad either.
  7. [hide=My Argument] [/hide] Actually they are complaining about the 1 combat type. You just said it yourself. It only "prolongs the fight, wastes resouces, and lowers the chance of the PK" for someone who dosent use the combat triangle. If you used the combat triangle, prayer wouldnt matter or prolong the fight, because you could simply change attack styles. My point was people who pk with the "one gun honor code" handicap themselves making them "pray themselves or run from the prayer noob". If people used the combat traingle and used different forms of attack, prayer wouldnt matter. People who dont pray and use 1 form of attack, are limiting themselves. A limit which I am free to exploit using all my combat types. Prayer is productive in a fight, but only if you fight correctly. If you dont fight correctly (with all of your abilities), thats not my fault you make your own handicap, and its a weakness I am willing to take advantage of. Its survival of the fittest. EDIT: Keep in mind I am not insulting pures. I have a pure friend who a great pker pure, often making 3-4x as many kills as the times he dies. I have nothing against pures. But even as a pure, he knows to use more than 1 combat type. My argument is not about what levels you have, but using the levels that you already have.
  8. PvP combat is, as it was intended to be played in the game, survival of the fittest. Where a player who ultimatly had higher combat stats, or more combat tactics/knowladge, would win a duel. PvP was meant to use all of your abilities in combat, not just 1. And there lies the problem most pk'ers have now days. 1 combat type. Melee. Example: Lets say your friend challenges you to a Gun fight. Now, you are not allowed to use a bullet proof vest (prayer) because it is dishonorable. And a bulletproof vest would make a fight to long. The wrong thinking behind this is, people (espeically pures) only think inside the box. They focus on using the gun, and whine when people wear the bullet proof vest. ANY great pk'er knows, you cannot limit yourself to 1 form of attack. You wear a vest, a great pker will switch from a gun to a knife, and so on. PvP was inteded to use EVERY single form of combat. Melee, Defence, Mage, Range, Prayer, Summon. Those who complain are those who are stuck holding just the gun. They cant think outside the box, and are only focused on their 1 weapon. To those who say using prayer takes out of the joy of killing because it makes it so slow, frankly is a bad pker who cant think outside of the box. They cant see anything past using the single gun. If both you and your opponent pk'ed using every single combat form, you could use a different combat style USING THE TRIANGLE, which is how PvP is entended to be used. Someone prays melee?, you use mage, ect.. As for those who say taking all that extra equipment takes up to much space? The extra protection from praying would be equal to the space lost in food. If people Pk'ed correctly instead of the single gun honor code, loots would be more, and battles more exciting. It wouldnt just be about A hits B harder, A eats.. ect.. I would be much more complex. Having to know your triangle, switching prayers, and switching combat types. To those of you who pk in this new update, I will be the one laughing over your gravestone, because I used all my combat triangle types while wearing my vest, and KO'ed you with ease, while you were focused on shooting your single gun.
  9. http://www.runescape.com/img/main/kbase ... atures.jpg Look at the boat placement and the curves. Its lunar Isle. My guess is that was during the HD revamp, when they were redoing the textures.
  10. Quit being a Doomsayer. You speak of the upcomming updates like they happened last week. Point is, we dont know what they are going to do, so dont put words in Jagex's mouth. For all we know, the PvP updates could be awsome and very exciting. How can say an update is going to be usless and mess everything up when the update hasent even arrived yet? Its like saying a sandwich is going to taste bad just by looking at a picture of one. All we know is the general concepts around it, and nothing specific. So you cant say things WILL be a certain way. The updates will not be like the old wilderness? Duh. The majority of us knew from Day 1 after the wildy was removed, it would never be able to come back in any shape or form. Sorry but its true. Anyone hoping that it would ever come back is clinging to false hopes and wont accept the truth. If you were assuming the PvP worlds would be Wilderness Version 2, you deserve to be dissapointed. Keeping that thought in mind, I didnt say they WOULDNT change the BH drops, I just said it was highly unlikley. If they really wanted to change the BH drop system, they would have done so already. And yes, I do think they will limit it to 1 world for P2P and 1 world for F2P. My reasoning? Jagex will wish to convert as many people as possible to the New PvP format, rather than the old, since the new format is likley to be much harder to RWT in. You think the BH drops will change? It dont think it will. And if it does you can call me out and prove me wrong with the update comes this week.
  11. It appears Bannannas wont be the ONLY new food skill! :o
  12. Since all this thread is, is logical assumptions and speculation, I'm going to make a few of my own. Jagex will NOT remove BH. Notice I said "remove", and didnt say change. BH is intregated into the High Scores and among other things, people would whine if it was just taken off the map. (See RuneScape Classic as example). Now, with the new PK worlds, Jagex is not stupid. They know well enough that the mass majority of the PK'ers will change to this new method (or at least they are hoping they will). Because of this, I forsee them reducing the BH worlds to 1 P2P and 1F2P world. This will cram all the existing players together to give RWT'ers as much trouble in BH as possible. Changing BH. It is surley possible, however they will NOT get rid of the loot system. They have no reason to. If they didnt want that system in, they would have not added it in when they created the minigame. But as for changing, It is VERY possible they might add in a extra rule here or there, like "You cannot loot more than 1 kill every 30 mins" or something to that effect. Overall I dont expect BH to change much at all if any (other than reducing to 1 world for p2p and 1 for f2p) using basic assumptions. And if they do change it, it will be for the greater good.
  13. I'd hope spawn points were "safe" to at least give people a chance at re-stocking. Did you even read the BTS? #-o OT: I am looking forward to the PvP updates simply because I never really got a chance to be a pk'er the first time around. Now at least my levels are high enough to have some fun. Holiday events are always fun, but I think the pvp updates are really going to recharge the community right where they need it. I mean, regardless of how many limitations there will be (and trust me, there WILL be some) it will still be enjoyable to the majority of the PvP community. More enjoyable than BH I would think.
  14. Me. Me too! Maybe it could be on entraina? Love the Idea   It would be actually be a good challenge compared to what we're seeing right now, (barrows and godswords) Do you think I should post it in suggestions? Thats a intresting new concept but you might have to alter a few things. Such as, if you cant take any items with you, how would you keep any drops when you decide to leave? Or perhaps the monster drops nothing but coins, and only coins can be kept when leaving?
  15. If you are using only range and have a few extra GP to spend, I recomend arma armor. It has higher defence than karils, a prayer bonus, and a higher range bonus. The only difference is arma has melee reduction, but since your only ranging, thats not an issue.
  16. The old way of trading through forums is gone now. People now trade using a item-trade place called the grand exchange. I suggest you read about it here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/?page=the_g ... change.htm Also, Quick chat is not for forums, but ingame it gives you a list of predefined sentences and phrases all players (included those who are muted can say). Hit the enter key on your keyboard (while playing RS) to have the options show up. One more thing, Jagex from time to time does mute cleanouts, where people who are muted have a chance to appeal and possibly reappeal their mute. Keep an eye out for these in the future as you might be able to eliminate your mute that way.
  17. Until you get to like... 90 or so, its near impossible to gain money. Once you can make magical cape racks and stuff, i'm sure you can profit a little. You used to be able to, until the TT construction rewards came around. Now high level construction items no longer make any profit at all, unforunatly. As for now, you wont make any money on anything you make. I would recomend making the highest thing you can with oak planks until you reach the level you want. Oak Tables -> Oak Larders -> Oak Dungeon Doors. More Advanced Discussion: As for using Noted planks Vs. Noted Logs; I have found that while using noted logs will reduce your costs by a considerable ammount, the extra time it takes is not worth it. You are far better off buying the planks on GE, noting them and then having your butler unnote. In the long run, in the time saved you can make the money back and get xp in something else while making the money back. As for butlers, never ever go above a normal butler. Demon butlers are a huge ripoff. 5k more per 8 loads (625gp extra per load) for just 4 more planks is not worth it. The normal one works great espeically when you get above level 74 where your using 10 planks at a time. No need for paying 5k extra every 8 tips for 4 spots you wont be using.
  18. Responding to the part in bold: Keep in mind the number 99 means NOTHING. There is no difference between 99 HP on RS or 5000 HP points on another game. Its all where the proportion is. I know a common other mmorpg game people play, some players have 5k+ HP, but keep in mind the low level monsters there hit 200+ damage. The only difference on RS is that the numbers are based in a smaller ammount instead of hugly spread out. Example: If you have 5000 hp, and a low level monster hits a 250 on you, thats 5% of your hitpoints. The equilivent would be hitting a 4-5 on RS. Some of the higher monsters/players are hitting 2-3k+ damage per hit easily. In proportion to RS, its about the same as a boss monster hitting a 50-60 on you. So you see its all about proportion. Just because we only have 99 hp, dosent mean RS's HP system is any harder or easier than other games. Its all based on how monsters hit in relation to the max HP level. Therefore it really dosent need to be changed from 99. EDIT: If you raise the HP cap on RS, then everything drops in proportion, and becomes easy again. Changing monsters from hitting 50% of your hitpoints to 30% by raising the HP cap thus takes out any challenge of killing a boss monster. All it would do is make new monsters just as hard as the current ones, and make the current ones to easy.
  19. ^ to 2 Posts above: That is not the actual link to the picture but a link to a page with the picture on it. Right click the picture on that page, hit properties and theres your link :) This is the link you should have in your hide tags: http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/3923 ... 408zs3.jpg
  20. One major point people are forgetting is that we dont know the new PK system. Now this is just a guess and not necessarly true, but looking at the clan wars update.. My guess is that the dangerous version of clan wars is sort of like a trial for PvP worlds. (Excpet the PvP worlds WILL NOT have gravestones, or if they do, you destroy them in the process of gaining your reward) Keeping that in mind, I am guessing it will not be like the old wilderness system where you get skulled. Thus, you will keep 3-4 items on death, and armor/weapon prices will not change as much as people expect. The only things that we can say 100% for sure will be used are the consumables. Food and Potions. Everything else is up in the air. Also a note to skillers: Expect non PK worlds to get alot more crowded as people will not go to PvP worlds for skilling and have a chance to be killed while mining, wc, ect..
  21. I think this post and Aussietroopa's point above are the best - I would love to see more high end crossover things, but they would have to be useful (barbarian fishing? Really?) So items that can only be made by or used by people with hgih combination skills, to encourage players to be more rounded. Agreed, but also keep in mind, things like barbarian fishing may still be useful, we just dont know it yet. Example: Zam Spear was useless junk to 95% of runescape when it came out. Now with its uses at CB and Waterfiends, it's cost is rising almost above the cost of a whip. Point is, Jagex can add any content in at any time to make something useful. The point is just giving them an idea to MAKE something that is useless useful. I dont agree with raising the level caps above 99, simply because they dont even have 1-99 all filled up. There are plenty of other things they can add between 1 and 99, special effects between skills, ect.. If they wanted too, they could easily add a new ore with 90 mining between rune and dragon, or a new herb potion, or making higher hitpoints level heal you faster, or a new WC and FM tree above magics, or making jade/topaz into jewlrey, ect... But when I go to the suggestions forum, 95% of the posts there are for totaly new content and not updating old stuff. Just saying "Jagex plzzozoz update old skillss pzlzlz" wont get you anywhere. But making a thead of Specific additions to old skills might. Slayer recently got an addition with smoking kills a few months ago, so they are listening to add onto skills. We just have to give them ideas to start with.
  22. Not everything you listed is on the reset timer. Things that are on the timer: Bork Mining Shooting Stars Circus (On wensdays) Explorers Ring Things that are NOT on the timer: Battlestaves - 24 hour reset after the shop stock reaches 0 Seaweed - 24 hour reset after the shop stock reaches 0 Pineapples- 24 hour reset after the shop stock reaches 0 Bert's Sand - 24 hours after you collect MTK - 24 hours after you place money in your kingdom after the kingdom has been 0 for over 24 hours. (Yes I have tested this, my kingdom recycles at exactly 4:23pm EST everday.) Edit: If you want to see how it really resets you can leave 1 battlestaff in stock. You will find the shop will not restock until 24 hours after you make the stock 0. I accidently left one in stock once and I had to wait a whole nother day (Full 24 hours) after I bought the last one for it to reset.
  23. The last 3 flips would have the same chances as the other 7 flips. Each flip is a separate % and thus would not effect another flip. 7/10 is an AVERAGE, as doing thousands of flips would eventually average somewhere out close to 70% on yes and 30% on no. But running a 10 hit trial, each % is specific, so if you ran 7 flips so far and got 7 yes, you would not have any greater odds to get no on the remaining 3. Its sort of hard to explain, but each flip is separate, and cannot be linked with one another. Also, referring to the posts above, 2 things to consider. #1) Some of you are just comparing the SPECIAL of the shield and comparing it to the FULL stats of the DFS. You forgot the include the shield already has some pretty good stats already. #2) Unless you work at Jagex Ltd. NOBODY can claim to know how things are weighted in the hitting and damage equation for Runescape. Using commong coding knowladge, we can assume the equations are something like below: (accuracy equation) Attack level + weapon bonuses opponents defence level opponends defence bonuses based on weapon style used = Some %. This % is used to flip a coin, which either lands on hit or miss. If it lands on hit, go onto the next equation. (Strength Equation) Str level + str bonus opponents defence level = some number. This number is put in a bracket in which you are assigned a number between 1-an assigned number (your max hit). The computer then randomly spits out a number in this number range. We know the formula or at least part of it, but unless you work at Jagex, you cant claim to know how any of the factors above are weighed towars eachother. That being said, because we dont know how how important defence points are compared to overall damage, WE CANNONT assume anything on which shield is better simply by pulling out numbers and %s. The ONLY way to determine which shield is more effect is to run a long term trial. And even then, it all depends on luck. Honeslty, both shields are good, and both have their strengths. No shield is 100% superior to another. Each has its own specific uses. So its pointless to argue one shield is overall better than another.
  24. A few people so far have just gotten barley to the 1k mark killing this thing. However, one important part to remember is, the last 1k of this monster is at least twice as hard as the first half!! Healers are going to be a HUGE problem when solo'ing. Considering, not only do you have to manage damage, moving, but also kill these things or it wont be long and the beast will heal himself alot, unless it KO's you first. Basically its like a ship heading towards an iceburg. You can chop off the small top half above the water, but underneath its 2-3 times the size of the top. Solo'ing is going to be VERY hard if someone even finds a way to pull it off. Really is just going to come down to luck.
  25. It actually effects neither stats nor bonuses. It's a hidden value, just like the hidden value for Void. Here is an example: When you hit a monster, the computer flips a coin. You either hit, or dont hit. The % that the coin lands on "hit" is calculated by your attack level + attack bonuses - opponents defence level - opponents defence bonuses for the style attack you used (if your are using melee). So the higher your attack level and attack bonuses, the higher chance it will land on the "hit" side of the coin. Now what the amulet does is, say you have a 50% chance to "hit" the monster, based on all levels and bonuses, the amulet will increase that to a 70% chance the computer will select "hit". We dont know the exact formula they use to calculate the hit % based on attack level and armor bonuses, and nobody can calim to unless they work at Jagex Ltd. Now the str works in the similar way. Your str level and bonuses are added and put in a "bracket", so if you have A# of str "points" you are given a value between 1-some number. All the amulet does is multiplies this final value by .20 or 20%. So it is a hidden value, not directly effected by attack level or level bonuses, but they do effect eachother indirectly. Void works in the same exact way. Edit: In reference to post below, I forgot to add in opponents defence, so added that in as well. Also Note: the "attack bonuses" selected would depend on the style of the weapon your are using. For example the attack bonuses on a dds while using the "stab" attack would come from the "stab attack bonus" on your equipment menu. Thus, the opponents "stab defence bonus" would also be added into the equation.
