  1. This is what people wanted, was it not? I believe you and half this forum said "I believe weapons are to powerful now and 1-2 hitting someone has taken away from the PvP gameplay" Now people got what they wanted. If someone wants to risk using claws/GS, they are going to RISK them. PvP will no longer be full of weapons that 1-2 hit your opponent. It will now be about tactics and skill. Like Muggi said: It will all be welfare gear, which is the way PVP SHOULD be. Larger reward for cheap equipment used. And if someone wants to use an expensive item, all the power to them, but its finally a RISK. IDC if it fixes 26k or not. This FIXES the overpowered weapons issue in PvP.
  2. OT: Was bored of FoG, so I got a second for my bank spot.
  3. Average Kills for the egg is about 400-500 Bruno. Took me 450 or so on blues. I used yak backing for about 200 of them, then said [cabbage] that, and just started mass killing them leaving the bones and the hides lol.
  4. While the workers of these sweatshops were getting barley enough money to put bread on their plates for hours of hard labor, I would be willing to bet the leaders of these sweatshops were making very large incomes while the workers get screwed over. Wouldn't you then say the company is not morally right, since one person is making thousands, while the rest make pennies? I do agree the loss of jobs is unfortunate, but that's not enough to say the companies were morally right in the first place. With any hope, this law will at least be the first of many for people to stop making these type of jobs in the first place, and focus their time on making real legitimate jobs that are not stung upon morally grey areas.
  5. You only get 5 mintues per game, which at lower levels is alot of time, and higher levels not so much. Best thing to do is always go through each room thieving the golden chest in the center, then use the doors. Keep doing this until you get to the highest level room you can use. One you get there, loot all the urns first, then the golden chest last (to keep scarabs away until the end). Do NOT waste time with the Sarcoughagous as they do not give any thieving xp. At lower levels you will have time left over, while at higher levels you will be pushing your limit to get to the highest room. Also, try to play the game on worlds with other people. Doors for the rooms only reset every 60 seconds or so, so if you see someone go through a door before you, use that door as its a high chance you can use it before the doors reset. This saves alot of time in figuring out which door is the correct one of the 4 to use.
  6. Its not *required*, but you can bring one if you like. There are no sara monsters in the actual encampment area. The only place you can get attacked by sara is outside on your way walking to the armadyl area. You might want to wear a holy symbol when you enter GWD, and pray range**. Then walk over the armadyl entry way. Once you get to the entrance, put on the armadyl pendant, then grapple over. **Keep in mind that avians OUTSIDE of the encampment can only range you, so range protection will keep them from doing damage outside the encampment. That procedure should protect you from most of the monsters attacking you on your way to Avians.
  7. Simple answer? No. Complex Answer? When a potion is used, it only goes up to a certain limit. For example at 99 attack, drinking a potion will bring me up to 118 attack. Regardless if im at 112 attack, or 99 attack, drinking another dose will only bring me up to 118 again. The same rule applies here. If the hunter pool increases my hunter +8 and I drink a potion(+4 hunter), my stats still stay at +8 and do not change to +12. This is because my stats are already raised above above the normal +4 the potion would give me. If those paragraphs confused you, just ignore what I said and read below. It dosen't stack.
  8. If you plan to kill them inside the arma encampment area, keep in mind you will need an armadyl item of some sort. Even though you will be praying range, there are also armadyl meleers and magers who will attack you inside if you do not have a armadyl item on. As for a general setup for the inside area, really anything goes if your praying and it can be cheap if you want to it be. Just make sure you have: 1) Arma item (Helm/Body/Skirt/Amulet) 2) Zammy item (Don't need a sara item inside the area) 3) Decent prayer bonus anything over 10-15+ 4) Rest Range bonus There isnt really a perfect setup, but as long as you have something along those lines above you should be fine.
  9. You have to be careful when comparing accuracy of attack levels, because there is so much to factor in, unlike the range and magic skills. There are: - Your Attack level - Your Attack Bonuses - Your Attack Type - Your Attack Style - Your Opponents Defense Level - Your Opponents Defense Bonuses - Your Opponents Attack Style (Yes, it does make a difference) Ontop of all that, I believe the attack accuracy is a dice roll from a dice that is always changing. Your bonuses are added up and you are given a dice based on the bracket your bonuses are in. For example (just making this up) Attack bonus 0-100: 2 Sided dice (1-2) Attack bonus 101-200: 3 Sided dice (1-3) Attack bonus 201-300: 4 Sided dice (1-4) Attack bonus 301-400: 5 Sided dice (1-5) As you can see, if you have 301 attack bonus, your dice can roll anywhere from a 1 to a 5. If your opponent can only roll up to a 3, You have a very high chance to be successful. Likewise if you can only roll up to a 3, but your opponent can only roll up to a 2, it will APPEAR your accuracy is higher (only have to roll 2 or 3 to hit), rather than a 2/5 or so chance you have with the higher brackets. So its all proportional. Just because you have a higher attack doesn't mean you WILL hit better, since attack is such a small variable in the whole equation. This is all my own personal observation however, and not the actual equation, its just an example of how higher attack bonuses/levels don't necessarily mean higher attack accuracy.
  10. It will never happen, and here is why: If you chose to play the game as not intended** and a personal handicap such as a type of "pure" account, you must realize this is YOUR OWN PERSONAL HANDICAP YOU CHOSE TO HAVE. Therefore, because you decide to make the game -harder- for yourself by having 1 defense, or 3 combat, you need to realize there are some consequences of this. Its not a different "class" of playing, its just a personal handicap to make the game more challenging, and reap potentially better/different rewards. So no, it will not ever happen because Jagex do not gear their updates to people who play with a personal handicap to make the game more challenging for them. **What do I mean by not intended? The game Runescape is designed for you to train every single skill to be successful. This doesn't mean you can't be successful not training some skills, but in terms of the way the game and its updates are designed, they design them in the concept people will be training all their skills.
  11. Edit: That pic does look a little to much like a player. I would guess this is just another fake like [bleep]e lol.
  12. You are correct in that, If a situation did come up like claws (for 400k) if Jagex saw to many were purchased they could easily raise the price manually. But the reason I didn't mention that, is because I feel that is more an issue of Jagex doing their homework beforehand on how much an item really is worth, rather than a function of the system I proposed. Still, prices can be adjusted manually by Jagex if the need to do so arises under extreme circumstances such as that. EDIT: I forgot to add, new items on release should not be able to be instantly bought until 1-2 weeks after the item comes out. I will add that to my main post!
  13. My Solution: Freeze Price ranges with a 20% instant buy and 20% instant sell option. And before you think i'm kidding, actually read the idea. It caters to almost every party and gives alot of benefits. Ive run this idea through several people including merchants, non-merchants, and even people who feel free trade should come back, all of which agreed it could work. In this idea, prices are frozen on the G.E. with options to instantly buy an item from the game for 20% above the medium price, and an option to instant sell an item to the game for 20% below the medium price. Example: Coal Price range on G.E.: 135 min - 150 med - 165 high Instant Buy: 170gp Instant Sell: 120gp Why this system would work? It freezes prices in a certain range so people cannot manipulate them. The instant buy options keep items from being bought out and an item is available at all times (at a higher cost). The instant sell prevents items from being unsellable. The instant buy/sell are both 20% apart from the median price so player offers will be more economical than the game's options thus keeping player trade a valuable part of the game. The perk of this system is, with the instant buy/sell, items well ALWAYS balance out so the supply = demand. So in the end it will encourage players trading once a supply/demand has balanced out. Another example is something like fire runes. Once this system comes in place, everyone with massive amounts of fire runes will instant sell them. At this point there will be a huge reduction in fire runes and the supply will eventually equal the demand, thus having players able to sell them to others. The instant sell does bring money into the game, but the instant buy also takes a HUGE amount of money out. This system would keep prices within their ranges without items becoming "junk trades" since players can *buy* them from the G.E. store at 20% above the mid price. This ensures players offers are better than the games offers keeping player trade useful. What about shops? Shops also sell at the 20% above medium price to keep player trade flowing. Shops buy items at the 20% below mid price, so as to not interfere with the G.E. What about Rares? Rares are set in value just like any other items, but they are now a symbol of wealth and not just of having a *rare* item. Rares can be instantly bought at 20% above min price, however they can also be instantly sold 20% below min price. So while buying them from G.E might bring more into the game, if to many come in and they are sold to G.E. 20% below min, the items will be taken out, decreasing the supply. So, while you might be able to purchase rares in a G.E. store, it will not effect the rarity of value of the item since they can be taken out of the game just as quickly. What about Junk Trades? Junk trades would not exist anymore since all items could be instantly sold for 20% below medium price. This makes it more fair to everyone. What about newly released items? New items on release will not be able to be instantly bought until 1-2 weeks after the item comes out. This ensures massive items cannot enter the game upon release making the update pointless. What about individual merchants not abusing the system? Legit merchants could still benefit from this update as they can look at the G.E. trade information and, if predicted right, can buy items on minimum and median to sell for maximum player trade prices. The whole goal of the 20% instant buy/sell is to keep prices of items in the min-med-max ranges so it will encourage player to player trade in and outside of the G.E. and will NOT allow people to manipulate items.
  14. My post isn't really pointed at you directly JP, but everyone as a whole.. When you think about it, is freezing prices really a bad thing? Its basically a shop with players stocking it. But when EVERYTHING is frozen, is it really an issue? You coal is always worth 150 everytime you sell. Your raw and cooked sharks are always worth 800 each. Your bandos godsword is always worth 20M. In reality, in a fixed market everyone only buys items they actually plan to keep, and the only people who don't benefit are those who buy items simply to sell them back later for profit. Honestly, this is the way it should be. I hope they DO fix prices, because it would make it more fair for the vast majority of the community. No more worries about Inflation, or money coming into the economy or this or that being overpriced/bought out. And freezing prices is about the only solution I have seen on this thread that will actually fix the problem. Alot of games (including MMORPG's) have fixed prices. It dosen't ruin the fun out of it at all. I almost see RS more successful if they freeze prices.
  15. Exactly, Which is more of a reason why I think people should just let it go and accept it for what it is. I feel like if people want to spend their hours standing around doing nothing for money, thats their choice and they wont get any XP from it. To many people focus on the "WTF PPL GET STUFF FASTER THAN ME, NERF IT PLZ!" thought of mind, and forget this game is about having fun achieving personal goals rather than being faster/better than others. I dont care if the guy next to me gets 5m in 30 minutes 26king and it takes me 10 hours skilling hard to get that same 5m. Its about the jouney to GET that ammount. If I find skilling more enjoyable thats fine, but if I find standing around doing nothing for hours enjoyabe, theres nothing wrong with that! I wish people would just see that and not focus on what the guy next to them has that you dont have. The only issue I really see is the AFK'ers, which in my mind are basically the same thing as Botting for money. You shoudlnt get EP% for putting a paperweight on your arrow key and letting your camera spin for an hour. They need to auto log you if you press the same key for more than a 10 minute period. Point being, adding more restrictions just makes the situation worse. Its fine how it is right now. Any attemt to tweek it will only worsen the situation, and waste everyones time.
  16. In the long term lootshare brings no new money into the game. This does. Why is this such a hard concept to understand? :wall: Ya this does bring new money in, but as Jagex has stated before, sometimes their reasoning for updates is unclear to its players because they cannot see the large scale of things. For all we know, they planned it this way for a giant money sink update comming in the future, or maybe some other reason. Either way, I wouldn't get all uptight about it. I guarentee you Jagex have known about the *problem* since day one, and either planned it being that way, or will change it annouced or un-annouced in the near future. Ya, hundreds of millions are comming in each day, but that is a very small percent compared to the hundreds of BILLIONS already in a game. Inflation isnt something that happens overnight, so nothing to be to worried about.
  17. Oh ya I do agree with you very much that all that GP coming in isn't a good thing, but I think the massive amount of pure cash coming in is a byproduct of the real problem, which is that EP is WAY to easy to get. If EP% is harder to obtain = Less GP comming in, and thus solves the issue. What you said is very true, and that is also one of the things I think need tweaked as well. You should be getting more EP for killing someone or being killed, rather than skilling. And you should get 0 EP% for standing around doing nothing. I'm sure more things need tweaked, but at least its a start.
  18. Actualy pvp doesn't take money out of the game. Or, at least, I've never seen anyone pking with 10m cash instead of max mage gear. Yep yep. Items going out of the game and money coming in. Rara, would item prices go up? I don't think its really the money coming in that's the PROBLEM, its the fact of how easy it is to get EP%. In all honesty, people should not get EP% for just standing around AFK'ing on PvP/BH Worlds. People should have to Kill others, Die, Skill, or do some sort of activity to gain any EP% at all. I would say at least 70%+ of people on BH worlds just AFK and don't do anything at all to get EP%. But until they change this, its still way to easy for people to get EP% and way to much money for 0 work, and thus way to easy money.
  19. If your talking about the option in game to turn off fog, it turns off the stuff like in Dust devil's lair. I'm talking about the white background for unloaded things. I'm pretty sure you can't get rid of it. No, the Fog option in the graphics setting will remove that fog at the edge of the map which "smooths" the edge of the map. It wont turn off the Dust Devil's Lair Fog. As far as the color white, HD map edges change color depending on your location. If you are in a location like a swamp, the edge of the map will turn black, if your in a light area like Edgeville, it will be white. Its just a location function of HD to give a better sense of your surroundings. I kind of like that function personally.
  20. The way i see it however, this isnt really going to change negativly. Instead of getting a Dbow Drop now, I get like 800k in exchangeable non-GE items, which I can trade directly into cash for what I need in supplies, which makes pker's happy. No pker wants a drop which they have to wait 3 days to sell on min due to clans merchanting them. This keeps the Dbow prices up, possibly even slightly higher than they used to be, and keeps skillers happy. The only problem is more cash comming into the game, which is not *REALLY* a long term problem. When people tend to have more cash, they buy things like 99 range/mage, from skillers, which in turn eventually get that GP trained into skills like summoning, or construction, or player kingdoms, which drain it from the game. So yes, it will make more GP come into the game in the short term, but in the long term the more GP people have, the more they spend it, and the more it leaves the game.
  21. PvP Drop Changes  Whip Change - Could *MAYBE* be more useful maybe in mutli-pking for teams. Doubtful though.- Tele Change (could be useful) Trawler Changes   Gravestone Change  BH Crater - I wish they would of Changed the inside of the Volcano, and added some better scenery to match the monsters. It looks to much like they threw them on the map. Still cant complain about more spots for slayer, and Im glad they finanlly added some high level monsters for F2P. OFF TOPIC: Would people stop guessing about Moblizing Armies :| MMG already said it would not be out until the end of the year, or beginning of next year at the EARLIEST. They likley postponed it for the next skill, so dont get your hopes up for nothing. Overall Good updates this week!
  22. Found this while browsing for something else
  23. I think this twitter is actually made up of 3 different concepts and not all tied together. As the previous penguin twitter told us a few weeks back, they don't always twitter about next weeks content, but about other things such as meetings and concepts far down the road. This is what I assume each section to mean: A bunch of monsters in development had no real place in the game, just were concept monsters. Now they have found an idea to put them into the game. This could be something that is in development far down the road. Easily the new gravestone update. Not much more to guess on this. Some sort of new transportation. By guess of the text, its not a teleport, but maybe something like gnome gliders or spirit trees. Possibly quest related.
  24. From what I remember from previous Jagex statments, "macroing" is defined as: something that does an action, and has the ability to have no input from the user to do that action. Mousekeys are allowed because if you click with your mouse, or tap with your keyboard, it still requires the same amount of action from the user. So as long as you are doing something on your keyboard or mouse to get an action to happen, its not macroing. Edit: Another example is putting a paperwight on your arrow keys to keep the camera spinning. This IS macroing (just without a program) because it requires no interaction from the user for the action of staying logged in.
