  1. True, but I'd like to see it incorporated in some sort of story/diary that actually has something interesting to say. I mean, sure.. a developer can lay down his ideas.. but this is nothing more than a couple of brainfarts. Vague ideas about what the quest could be. I mean.. that's what I've had come up with if I were interested in guessing a plot in a next dwarven quest. The idea is not bad.. the actual product is. I think people are getting ahead of the boat here. Jagex are not putting these dairies here just for us. They are putting them here for them too. I believe they are using feedback from the diaries while things are very very early in development to help shape the updates. Its helpful for them to get feedback about ideas when the development process hasn't started yet so changes can be made on paper, instead of scrapping 5 days of coding because it wasn't that good an idea as intended. Like any blog, its going to start out small, and gradually grow with more content and more specifics as it progresses. Someone making a smithing blog is probably not going to have 2 pages of in debth content to talk about at level 1 smithing. The same is true for Jagex. This is our first page about a beginning concept. Give it some time to develop. 3 months from now, we will have several diaries at once with little and large content for each one depending on their development stages. Right now it seams really bare, but in the future it wont be. Give it a chance.
  2. Exactly! Think about it. Look on blog scape. A blog is not one giant entry explaining everything from start to finish. It is small little posts showing your ongoing progress. The more progress you make, the farther along the blog goes. People seam to be thinking we only get one blog from one developmental person a month. This is not the case. We are going to get several of these from different people each month telling us how their individual work is progressing. Don't be so critical and just be patient.
  3. Ya I agree, and because of the Rouge thing that you mentioned, it leads me to believe there will be at least some compensation for killing someone who isn't your target. I think the most likely scenario is what will_holmes mentioned, which is random generated drops for those who are not your target, and full drops from those who are. That would give players still some incentive to kill people who are not their target, with high leveled skulls. If this was the case, the penalty might be shortened, or taken out all together. Either way, if you always killed your target, things wont change much than they used to be. I can only see that as a good thing.
  4. I understand your point, but look at it from a different example: Say you live out in the open country and your street is 2 miles long to the nearest road. Everyday you speed 60 MPH along that street, to reach the main road, since there is no speed limit there. Now all of a sudden, the government shows up and puts a 30 MPH speed limit on your street. Why was the speed limit put there? The 8+ years you traveled down your street you never had a problem going 60+ MPH. Why must you now go 30MPH? Now Jagex has put that 30 MPH speed limit sign on your prayer street. It was for safety reasons, as they determined going at wrist breaking speeds is simply not safe. Ya, maybe you can handle the 60 MPH, but Jagex does not want to be liable for someone crashing going 60 MPH. I agree that an option to turn off the x-make options would be desired, but the Government isn't going to put "30 MPH if you want to" speed limit signs. I don't know that Jagex would compromise its players physical safety by allowing players to speed and get down prayer street 60 seconds faster.
  5. Well maybe.. just maybe.. They decided to count the "Learning the Ropes" as a quest, and waited for all the "zOMG #150 must be epic111@!@!" stuff to die down before adding it in as another quest? Or its just a spelling error. Either way, its not the big deal your making this. Jagex is made up of humans, not robots. Humans make typos. Relax.
  6. I wouldn't be surprised if you get their eqt an inventory as drops ONLY when you kill your target If that's the case, then it would be a good thing. Your there to kill someone afterall, so why does it matter who you kill? But I'm thinking more along the lines of: - You can only receive full drops from your target - You receive randomly generated based on the alch value of items lost by your opponent who is not your target. I could see them implementing something like that.
  7. I couldn't help noticing "Yeah the planned 150 is actually still in development " Does that mean that the chosen commander wasn't the real 150st quest? And that the quest that had more development time then RFD is still being developed? Ya TCC wasn't really the "150th quest", but it might as well have been. While the quest itself may have not been really extra-long and super challenging, the story line itself was epic enough for #150. The quest they were referring to that "had more development time then RFD" was the first Grand Master quest, While Guthix Sleeps. The quest they are working on currently sounds like it may be on that same level as WGS, but not necessarily related to it.
  8. This could be useful for buying certain items. I like this too, might help in getting the calculations we need for the Crossbow Max hits.   Awsome! This makes any time you use/flash prayer 10x better. I can think of 10 scenarios right off the bat, not including PvP or BH that this is useful for. Great Update! This is good, but I wish they would fix the lag when clicking on the quest interface too. I always lag when I click on the quest menu. Even after I have loaded it previously. Slightly slower XP > Broken wrists All good updates this week!
  9. And thus why I do not PK in members' worlds. People like Bruno make PJing videos (which show no skill at all-- no offense to you, Bruno) and all the little wanna-be PKers at YT watch them and see how easy it is, so they scrape together pennies they got from 15 person Bandos masses and buy some D claws and VOILA, another PJer is born. [bleep] the quests, [bleep] the minigames, Jagex NEEDS to sort out the PJing issue IMMEDIATELY. They need to change the code that determines when you are considered "in combat" so that you need to go about 6 "turns" without attacking to be intercepted, and they need to add a 10 second immunity to attack when you get a kill. PJing has always been an issue, but it's a game-breaking one now because of the wide availability of very OP weapons. The thing that makes me doubt Jagex is that there are such easy solutions to pjing. Ya, if you take a look on RSOF in the PvP section, there is at least 5+ ideas every day on how to prevent pjers. Either Jagex is planning on putting them in whenever they re-vamp the PvP worlds, or they simply arn't going to put them in at all. I see both sides of the argument. Pjers are annoying, but at the same time, it was the players "pk-style" that created the Pj'er, not the combat system. Because people have "glorified dueling" aka "honor pk'ing" it makes them much more open to pj attacks. Back in the old wilderness (not including edgeville/varrock) people couldn't really pj in the upper level wilderness. People are more combined in areas now and thus the PJ problem becomes more common. I think they designed PvP worlds to be a "dog eat dog" scenario, where anything goes. The whole entire world is PvP and 90% of the battles are within 20 steps from a bank. Every update Jagex dosen't put it in, It makes me thing perhaps they want us to change our style away from "glorified dueling" to solve the problem, rather than make PvP rules against it. Im sure by now they have considered ideas for fixing it, but I seams they want us to solve this problem on our own instead of intervening.
  10. Hah, ya I do :P I change my hair to match my cape colors, so whenever i get bored and change capes, the hair color changes too lol 99 In like 12 hours or so, if things go as planned :)
  11. I'm not 100% sure but I would assume you'd have to get it back from Zanik, who is randomly wandering the world after the quest. Making it quite difficult to get back. That's just a guess though. If I remember correctly, the item does have a destroy option. So hitting that option should tell you how to get it back before you destroy it. @ bruno, you may learn to hate it, but you can also learn to use it effectivly too :P The trick is to *make* people pray. Mage them a few times so they turn on protection from mage with d'hide/karils and then have a nice little *speical* supprise waiting for them ;)
  12. While the agility may have been nerfed.. We still have the bow, which is now the best PvP range weapon in terms of special-bar usage. Since the special hits "max+15" on any player who is praying, or has a god item on, every GS'er/SS'er in PvP now has a giant red sign on them that says "Special me!" Sure, they can only use up to addy bolts, but can hit 50+ with those. Combined with ice blitz and 2 of these specials, they are a totally new innovation for PvP combat. If someone is protecting melee, simply pop on the bow and some d'hide, and boom; instant damage bonuses against your opponent trying to pray against you. Might be used in rushing/pj'ing too... Since players normally protect melee right after they make a kill.
  13. Jagex don't care about the 26k thing. They designed it so it could be done that way, and told people how to do it. Sure, it kinda defeats what the PvP worlds were "designed for", but In Jagex's eyes they are doing an activity for a long period of time, and then reaping the rewards. The reason snowballing (Strike Spells) were taken out was because people were getting a decent amount of mage xp, for a low cost and for doing nothing but sit there. All while getting generous PvP rewards all at the same time. Jagex dosen't care if you use bronze hally's for 2 hours to increase your rewards, because you won't get alot of xp doing that. Not the kind of xp snowballing gave. At least now, spending 2 hours and getting nothing out of it, except a chance for better rewards, is justified.
  14. [hide=CE Postbag Stuff] FYI: Raktuber is about 50 days away from today? --> http://www.runescape.com/kbase/viewarticle.ws?article_id=452 Or precisely: Between the 109th day and the 146th day of the runescapian calender (which is just like the Earth calender, but only 10 months. Tomorrow would be the 17th of March, or (31+28+17) = 76th day fo the year? It's either not for a while, or i've just done some unnessecary maths -.- "Thats not where Bandos is"...? Haven't people been mentioning that Zanik isn't IN the box but like inbetween, sideways, upways, lengthways and all sorts of ways. That kind of fits. "old chum, old temple, old plots, old power." - The Chum is quite possibly you as a player. Or H.A.M (whatever happened to them anyway?) - Temple is the ancient goblin temple? Or GWD 'temple' - The plot? Something old and destined? Zanik is the 'chosen commander' after all. - Power? Closely linked to the above I presume, thats all Gods want these days.... Penultimate Goblin quest (Land of the goblins) was released November 2007, so it was due. And i'd like to clarify, I always thought the 150th would be the Goblin one. : [/hide] I do agree with you, that when I read the post bag for the CE, this segment was thought to imply hints about the goblin quest, however someone was wrong, so we now know 1 of 2 things. 1) The postbag was originally meant to hint at the goblin quest occurring in Raktuber, however at the desire to have an "epic" quest for #150, Jagex bumped the date ahead, and thus the CE postbag is now incorrect. OR 2) The Postbag was hinting at a totally different idea for a different quest, and the goblin storyline was just mistaken for it. Bandos could simply be a symbol of war, and goblins have no relation to the post bag's hints at all. Either way, once the quest is released, I think we might get a few more hints on what the postbag is implying, if anything at all.
  15. While little is known about MechScape, Jagex did say they would be following the same nickname pattern on Mechscape, as Jagex did to Funorb and Runescape. That being, your account name is already reserved for use on Mechscape, and your friends list all already be loaded there, and you will be able to chat to your friends on your list across games from Funorb, to Runescape and to MechScape. So names already taken on Runescape, and Funorb, will not be available on MechScape. But as for a mass Exodus... Maybe the first week, a large number of people will leave to try it, some may like it, some may not. Runescape will be played less im sure (and not advertised as much) but as far as a noticeable amount of the player base leaving, I dont think things will change all that much.
  16. borrownub. Confused. He means he proly borrowed the SGS. Anyways you could always try the Sara mages if you have 70 agility. Their boot drops % is not all that much lower than the Zammy mages, and you dont have to pray 80% of the time on the sara's if you kill them on the level down from the main floor.
  17. That's great. How you know many hammers you need? Well each hammer gives double experience and lasts for about 60-65k experience. (32.5k Xp for the bars and 32.5k xp from the hammer = 65k Total experience per hammer) So I took my total experience and divided it by 65k which let me know how many hammers I would need to use for my remaining levels. All in all for 99, I think I used about 160-175 hammers, or around there. Because they are not *exactly* 65k experience I may end up maybe a few bars short, but nothing to worry about, I can always do a few extra bars without one if need be.
  18. Finished getting all my hammers this morning :D Now I just have to skill for 99! Shouldn't take to long, as hammers get me about 100k xp/hr. I'm shooting for 99 sometime around next Saturday or Sunday, depending on how fast I skill. I'm just glad the SC stuff is done, I feel like I'm really making some progress!
  19. Another option is simply to have enchanted armor/weapons. Make use of the magic skill to have spells which can enchant armor and weapons giving them special effects ONLY against PvM. So the weapons can cause the normal amount of damage in PvP, they can cause extra damage in PvM if they have special attacks enchanted upon them. You can even change it so that the effects only last for a certain amount of time, keeping those enchanting mages busy. Skillers have always been tied to PvM in one way or another, I think it would be a good idea to make them more involved in a process of getting super high level armor.
  20. Keep up the progress. 99 Slayer will be quite an achievement :
  21. I'll see what you can do, but until then.. Hemen this is for you: (at the top left) Little place for your multiplayer Tzharr adventure ;)
